Today I am going to see how fast my RC car will go.
The hobby shop uses the racetrack nearby to have speed runs. I went last month for the first time. But when I went past half throttle it the speed controller turned off because it could only handle 180 amps. It went 96 mph coasting. Tonight is the last try. I have a very powerful controller now with 25 volts

Ok, the first bonehead move for the day is out of the way..
Replaced the a/c unit in the Castin' Shack with the newly cleaned one. I had to remove one of the side sliders due to the size of the window. We got it all in and sealed with aluminum cool tape, foam and duct tape. Turned it on and sat in front of it enjoying the Arctic blast. It went from patting myself on the back to smacking myself on the forehead when I noticed I took the wrong wing off.    I have the unit slid to the side of the window opening that won't leave me room to pull the filter screen out to clean it.
So I need to pull it back out and do it again. Good thing it's just a small unit and I can handle it myself.

Finishing the hurricane prep.  The crew is all briefed on the plan.  I'm headed out to put some new tires on the pick-up, score some propane, boat gas, and booze.   Then it's just hunker down and watch the radar.  We can ride out a class II but if the winds get much higher than that I'm buggin out.

Bill you have a tin sheet or window screen you can slap on top of the AC to keep the debris off? I've seen people use both resting at an angle so leaves fall off. Maybe they were duct taped in place so they wouldn't fall down I don't know. I've done the same with blocking the screen but the room is dust free so is no concern as it's run for 2yrs and still clean.

Yeah, I have a sheet of tin roofing left over That I'm going to make deflectors for each a/c unit with.

How to mount them to the sheet metal wall resting diagonal over the AC? Bend the top around 4" and mount with sheet metal screws from the top? I've never done it but I need to for my shop AC or I'll be blowing a lot of leaves off the top here these next two months.

I bend an angle to the top couple inches and screw them to the house. There is enough give so I can wrap the a/c unit with plastic for the cooler months.

Yes, Black Widows are common and plentiful here. I cleaned away all the webs and used about a quart of insecticide spray under/around/in the GMC. Last time I did that I did not see any signs of spiders in or around it for about 6 months.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday; it’s Hump-Day!!! I’ve been busy and Ayrabella & I have survived one week, so far, with my wife not home. Andi’s vacationing in Oregon with my in-laws. I got up at 0400, and I’m finishing up my second cup o’Joe. I’ll get Ayrabella off to school and then call the office. I’m available to work this week, but haven’t taken any offers yet. I’ll try to go to work today, but I’ve got to be home before Ayrabella gets off the bus. I’m taking another 5 day weekend starting Saturday until my wife gets back home a week from today.

Oh, and tonight is Parent’s night with the kids at Church. Normally, we go do our own thing, while the kids have their own thing. Tonight we’ll all be together. I’m trying to be there more often, especially during the summer months it’s really hard to make it after work.

Dealing with rainy weather, it's part of a cold front that the storm will mix with eventually. So get most of the indoor stuff done while waiting for the weather to clear out some. I am set for the supplies no need to get out in the middle of the twilight zone if possible. Sam, be careful on I-10, there was a pile up last night west bound lane east of DeFuniak Springs.

I woke up at 5:15 and got up at 5:25.

 Yesterday I didn't get around to getting my Dodge pickup washed. I did get finished unpacking it though. My neck is still stiff and sore so, I'll pay to have it done for me. It is dirtier than it has been since I've owned it and dirtier than it has been since it was new too.   LOTS of smashed bugs from 4 states.

 The plan for today is to go to town get it washed and then get a haircut while in town too.

 Bible study at Church tonight.
