We're taking it day by day. She had a good night last night. I know it's only a matter of days but she's still with us. She's done really good lasting 7 months after her stomach cancer diagnoses. We can see the toommer on her side it's so big.

Well, she's being a bounce back queen so I guess we'll have her around a little longer.🎇🎇🎉 Wife thinks it was the antibiotic messing with her stomach.

Something like that happened to a mini wienie I had who was also getting on a little in age, but
I found out that it was because a neighborhood kid gave it a bit of chocolate.
 
Dogs don't do well eating chocolate. I've heard it can kill them, but I'm not for sure.

Rambo gave a scare awhile back and we thought it was time.. tears were shed. But, I went and talked to the vet and she said that as long as he is eating, up and walking and able to go out and do his business, let him be.
Although he walks like Forrest Gump, he don't appear to be ready to give up the ghost yet. I just can't help but miss the old Rambo, full of pi$$ and vinegar with an overdrive running gear.

Really?  I had a miniature poodle that ate a 2 lb. bag of M&MS without apparent effect.  Then she did it again two years later.  I'm allergic to chocolate and that much straight cocoa would have sent me into anaphylactic shock.  The poodle was never quite right afterwards but then she wasn't quite right to start with.

Bummer bummer bummer!

I started calling around to some of my old park service buddies to see if I could "organize" a campsite for the memsahib and I.  One of my best friends has been diagnosed with brain cancer and she is being admitted to Shands hospital for surgery on Tuesday.  Change of plans.  We are headed for Gainesville to provide moral support and child sitting assistance.

  I read that one study on grapes showed they proved fatal to some dogs, some had lesser harmful effects and others experienced no harmful effects. We are better off playing it safe and not giving them grapes or raisins. That said I know the dog I had as a teen ate a lot of grapes straight off our grape vines, he would just lay under them eating the low hanging fruit. He never got sick from eating them as far as we could tell. He also ate all the Apricots that fell to the ground and spit out the pits, that was funny to see!

Ain’t quite sure what’s going to happen today.  We are taking the motorhome out for a jaunt.  I’ve found us a campsite.  It’s not where we want to be but it’s a good central location.  We can visit friends in Jacksonville or Ocala with a short drive.  We may be hanging out around the hospital in Gainesville since a good friend is going in for major surgery.

I got an interesting call a couple hours ago. It was from the executive PR/HR manager from the Hyundai supplier I retired from. He said he saw me pulling out onto the main highway this morning and decided to give me a call to see how we were doing.
He told me that the company had changed hands and is now owned by some Korean group. All of the American management and all 700+ employees are the same but all the Korean management is new. He said the plant manager and the press department manager have also moved on. He said the assembly manager is trying to manage both departments and is getting overwhelmed.
Then he started to ask about my health. That's when I bluntly asked him what he really wanted.
He asked if I was interested in a job managing the press department. It's a 6 figure job but it's a high stress job and I ain't the one.
I'm happy being retired and enjoying the stress free simple life. I graciously declined.
He said the offer stands if I change my mind. Not gonna happen.

My job in the PI for more than 2 decades was very strenuous, although the benefits and pay were good. I was the “Left Hand”, so I was into everything.

I’m very happy where I am right now and just laugh off my coworkers’ complaints. Because of my exposure and training, everything is chicken feed 

The US really has a division of labor, which I’ve never experienced in my native country.

I have to get a couple of starlings out of a bathroom exhaust vent.   Looks like the screen covering the vent exhaust has deteriorated enough to give the birds access.   I'm gettin' old for ladder work but I don't want them finishing the nest and raising a family in there.  I'm not a hunter but if I decide to shoot them, does anyone know if shooting upward at a pretty steep angle affect the POI ?   I don't have hunting AGs.   Does the FWB 601 have enough power to kill starlings?   Accuracy wont be an issue.
