We're taking it day by day. She had a good night last night. I know it's only a matter of days but she's still with us. She's done really good lasting 7 months after her stomach cancer diagnoses. We can see the toommer on her side it's so big.

Mornin y'all.  I took the pups outside this a.m. for some exercise.  Flytrap came too.  She wanted to play fetch with the other two but they were a bit too rough for her so I put them in the kennel.  Then we rolled the ball for her a dozen times til she got tired.  She's a tough old mutt.

Working in the garden and preparing for the Worm Grunting Festival are my big plans for the day.  If the wind drops I might get to shoot something.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I got up at 0400 and started my coffee. I have a men’s breakfast at 0800 and then I need to go pick up our new TV for the living room. I’m on-call this weekend, so anything can happen or change. But, I also have a men’s dinner at the Barn Meeting tonight.

Got up at 5:00 and put coffee on. No set in stone plans for the day but it wold be nice if the wind died down. If not the shop could use some cleaning up.

Another no specific plan kinda day for me. I think I finally got my laptop issues sorted. This is an older Windows 8 HP model 15 with AMD chipset. I had Windows 7 Pro and some of the drivers got corrupted. No longer supported so I went with Linux Mint. All I had on hand was 19.1, 19.3 and 2.0 all of which are expired.
Virginia 21.3 was just too taxing on it so I finally went with 21.3 Xfce. So far so good. Not one lock up this far so I think I'm good to go now. All updates are installed and it's actually pretty snappy.
I'm going to strip it down some more because there are things in it that I would never use. I have the desktop for any type of file, picture or a/v manipulations.

3rd time is a charm....
Xfce was still a bit too taxing for this old laptop. It was rather slow and I would get the occasional lock up. So I downloaded the iso and burned the install for Mate on a dvd,
Mate is the leanest package of the 3 and I trimmed it down even more. I just don't need much of the fluff that comes oem with Linux. Check mail, pay a a few bills, GTA and do some online shopping and browsing is about all I need. I got into startup and killed a bunch of those startup processes that do nothing more for me than to slow things down. I still have a bit of tweaking to do but it's the best it's been since Win7 puked on me.

Good morning, not much today still picking up the pieces from 2 days of headaches and full body flares, just the joys of having arthritis. Probably go after a camphor tree before it wrecks my septic system. They are worse than a pine tree and highly invasive. I have one more coat of paint to put on the gate panel and that will be done. I need to build a frame to put it in to keep from being mangled or scratched while transporting it. Just take the day as it comes.

Good Sunny Bright morning! Well I only slept 4h 31m and got only 2h 2m restful sleep according to my Smart Watch. (AKA sleep chrono) 

Oh well, I think I am going to have to black out the East window on my bedroom if I need to sleep later.

 This is the third day in a row with less than 5 hours, so I should be able to get to sleep earlier tonight and sleep 6h. I was planning on getting up at 8 AM, and another half hour sleep would have been great.

Looks like the Sun isn't sticking around here all day today!
Partly cloudy this morning. Increasing clouds with periods of showers this afternoon. High 63F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Looking at our hourly forecast it looks like rain at 6-12PM and rain tomorrow.

Doing the work thang.  Been here since 1330 yesterday (12APR2024).  I’m here until 2300 tonight.  My only plans are to man the phone and take care of any issues that they call me with.  So far we have had a fire assist, lights out, flickering lights, and a part out.  All have been permanently repaired and the customers are back in power. 

I was also able to get in a workout, coffee along with a breakfast sandwich and brownie this AM.  I loaded up on assorted treats to take home to my peeps for tomorrow morning when I am back home for a weekend.  I am also monitoring tracking on a handful of packages that are scheduled to be delivered today with air related items.  This has been a gray spring so far.  I’m hoping to see some brighter days here soon.  ☀️☀️☀️

Sure could use some rain though.

Mornin y’all.  The plan for today is to phone a bunch of my park service buddies and call in some favors.  We have a 27’ class B motorhome, a full tank of gas, and no destination!  I just need a campsite to park it in.  Hoping to get into Sebastian Inlet but Gamble Rogers will do.  We’re going to hit the road on Monday and see where it takes us!
