 My wife has always liked riding on the back of my cruisers. I got her to ride along on my XR250 on a motocross track in the nearby hills, and was surprised that she didn't freak out. She is afraid of heights and of falling too, so her being chill for the track including jumps was weird. I did take it easy but still was off the ground at least 6' from the jumps.

Scott, my first street bike was a 1982 Honda CM450E, candy blue and 6 speed. I miss that bike. I had an adjustable back rest, trunk, windshield, and case guards with foot pegs. I wish I never gave that one up, I had put 40,000 miles before I traded it in for a truck. The pic below was taken on the day I rode it off the show room floor. The dealership was overstocked with them and sold the bike to me new in crate for $1500. These bikes sold for about $3200 to $3500 in 1982. I bought this one in 1984 and had told them not to uncrate it until it was paid in full.

 I just asked her if she remembered riding the track and she said the trail back down from the track in the hills is what was hardest part for her to keep calm on. There was a long steep downhill that is rocks on hard soil so there is a lot of tire slip on it. She was amazed we didn't fall going down the hill. To me that part was pretty routine.

The CM450 engine is still in production!  You see them all over Asia.

My wife's aversion to cycles is more rooted in my tendency to injure myself with them.  Still, I'm dreaming of a 1964 Honda 305 (Super Dream!)  Just like the one Elvis rode in Rough Neck.  I'm more into restoring and customizing now rather than riding.

You got your wife to ride on the back of your XR250 on a motocross track including jumps?   Or was she the operator?   Either way it's pretty cool.   My wife rode her Yamaha TTR125 in an enduro with me some years ago.  It was a rainy, muddy ride and she was one of only 4 women that day.   She was about 45 and the other girls were teens and 20s.   I've got a very cool wife.

My last "street bike"  was a 1986 Honda XR 500 desert racer with a Baja Designs street lighting kit installed.  I had it configured as a Super Motard racer and used it as a delivery bike on the streets in Los Angeles.  I used to love to traffic dance on that bike.  I owned an 86 GSXR750 and a 75 BMW R75/5 at the same time but sold them before the Honda.

1986 was a 600. They only made the rfvc 500 in 83 and 84. I still have a 1983 but has been modded so much you couldn't tell.

She was a passenger, she has never ridden on her own, in fact she only rode a bicycle a little bit when she was a kid.  She is afraid to, but she trusts me!

The last bike I owned was a Honda VLX 600 Shadow. I modded it with forward control and a screen.
Sweet riding bike and I also down geared it for a lower RPM at high speeds.
With it idled down it had that "pocketa pocketa pocketa" sound with the baffles removed.
It sounded so cool.

I felt like Easy Rider looking for America.

I had to sell it because my left hand could no longer stand up to pulling in the clutch repeatedly on in city driving.

Ya know that taste and feeling you get in the back of your throat when you're starting to get sick? Yeah, I think I got whatever bug Betty Lou had.    I got the chills and a dull head ache as well. I think my best bet is to just go back to bed. We didn't have anything planned for the day so that's probably my best option.
This might be the first time I've been sick since I retired, I can't remember. At least I won't have to worry about what's going on at the plant in my absence. I had a couple guys that took advantage of the "no boss today" thing and I always had to hear about it from upper management. But then I had other guys that would step up and make things work. I could call my team leader, tell him I'm sick and give him the plan.

It's been drying over night after the first full strength application and after a quick first glance
it's looking very nice.

I kept asking myself while doing this, " Is this all worth it?" Well, looking at it this morning, YES!

Bill, I am dealing with the sore throat thing but no chills or achiness, between everything wet and mildewed and everything blooming right now my sinuses are not happy. Yeah it's nice to go lay down and not worry about calling in sick and fighting with sick leave policies and stupidvisors. I do have days where I have to totally shut down and rest.

For today, mix garden dirt, primer down, now for the final coat for the gate panel, check traps, pick up mail-last of the shipped stuff showed up yesterday and whatever I can fix or looked at shoved in between.

I cast around 400 217 20 RF pellets yesterday. I think I'll open the shootin' window and sling some of them today.
