Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I got up at 0500 and started my coffee. I didn’t get to shoot 100 yards with an air rifle yesterday, not well at least. I got 3 shots on target, but they were way low. My ‘Cuda Max developed a fast leak at the fill port. I was kind of bummed, so I shot some .303 and .30-06 on the new range setup. But, with the help of a YouTube video, I fixed it. It was the tiny o-ring behind the fill port on the tube cap that acts as a check valve. Honestly, that job built my confidence a little. I don’t think the o-ring was bad, it just might’ve been a seating issue on the screw that holds it. Anyway, today I’m going to setup the bench on the 100 meter range, and hopefully get some good shots on target with the ‘Cuda Max this morning. I’m, also, happy with the work I’ve been getting done outside, I have a lot more to do off my list. But, my wife has a list too. I might try to start working on her list, today. It’s all indoors stuff and she’s been giving me a hard time for only doing the stuff I want to do. I just like being outside, really. I’m going to see what I can get done today to even out our task accomplishments, so to speak.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday!!! I got up at 0530, had coffee and got Bella on the bus for school. I’m thinking about shooting 100 yards with my JTS Airacuda Max today. 

Nice to have some days at home isn’t it?

 I have taken a lot of time off recently but I don’t feel refreshed and I’m definitely not catching up on my “TO DO” list.  I think I’m going to have to get serious here but as of now, we have a lineman out temporarily filling in as a coordinator and we just had another lineman get hurt falling off a ladder at work.  We also have another lineman that is burning their time getting ready for retirement so that means that there are a lot of shifts that need to be filled.  We are a small group of twelve that run 24 hours a day.  Federal laws dictate that we have this coverage so these shifts must get filled.  So that means my projects at home are going to be delayed longer than I was hoping.  I’m already behind.  I may have to start to see if I can find some people to hire to help me keep up if I can afford to pat their prices.

It really is nice, Brother. 
It’s not a regular thing for me though, so I can’t say I’ve used my time home the best I could. It messes up my finances a little, so it messes with my mind a little. But, I’ve done pretty good. Next week I should have more work, plus I’m on call.

My plans went from finishing taking down a large dead ash tree, to I have to put down our 28 year old Highland cow, she has had a rough couple of winters, and was really beginning to suffer through this one. Here are her 2 replacements Honey up front and Basil off eating in the background. RIP Ginger.  :'(

Those are cute creatures.  I’m NOT going to show my wife because she will want one and I’ll never hear the end of it.  She has wanted a mini donkey for many years and I’ve dodged that one so far. 😆😆🤠

Fortunately, for us, we have cows & chickens and a dog next door, just over the fence. Since we don’t have any animals at the moment. Ellie, the dog next door, loves to crawl under the fence and visit us. The girls feed bananas to the cows and leftover bread for the chickens. It’s like having animals without the responsibilities. But, I’ve always wanted a small group of Myotonic (Fainting) Goats, American Pygmy Goats and chickens of our own. Maybe someday soon, before we get dogs again. I’d like the dogs to be good with the other animals, like Ellie is with her chickens.

Not much sleep last night. Betty Lou seemed to be a little restless as well. Neither of us has any stress in our lives so that's not the issue. I finally just got up at 2:30 so she might get some sleep without me tossing and turning.
I kicked back in the recliner and dozed in and out until Rambo came out t 3:30 trying to convince me it was time for him to eat. I made him go back to bed and I went to the spare bedroom and laid down. At 4:30 Rambo decided not to take no for an answer. He came in there stomping his feet and I could feel him staring at me.
I gave in and fed the dogs and put the coffee on.
I don't know if Betty Lou has any plans for today but I don't have anything specific in mind. I'm sure whatever it is it will be airgun related.

A few year back I had a litt;e boy insist they were Water Buffalo. he was relating to some Disney movie he had seen. LOL
 I plan to go into work and push apple tree trimmings up, as today the wet ground is frozen solid for a few hours, makes less mess .

Mornin y'all.  It's my day off so we're going over to our rental to continue the renovations.  I have to hang a bedroom door and I'll be done with the repairs.  But there are still lots of improvements we want to make.  I want to eliminate a burn pit in the back yard and sod over that spot and the memsahib wants me to build a drink rail all around the back deck.  I'll take an air rifle with me of course to do some plinking when I take a break.

I worked and climbed a ladder a lot yesterday and got tired but not sleepy. I didn't get to bed until 6:30 AM because I finally got sleepy then. I woke and got up at 10:00 AM. I think I will be able to "reset" my body clock early tonight. hopefully 

 Oh well, I feel good and plan on just doing some stuff outside today, it is supposed to get to 72°F today. 
I am going to finish my cup of coffee and head out for some light tree trimming and weed whacking and to get and put new blades on the lawn tractor, and what ever else I notice needs done. I may make a trip to the landfill because my Pickup has a load and is all ready to go. We have more rain predicted for Monday/Tuesday so it would be best to get the load emptied before that rain.

So..with all this talk about Highland Cattle, it got my wife and I interested in seeing them.... up close.

Today we drove down to a place called Eagle Eye Farm that is close to River Falls Wisconsin.

It was about 1 1/2 hours drive southeast from our place.

The day was sunny, windy and around 35F.

They have 2 Highland Cows and a large Bull.

They have a large herd of Alpacas. One of the Alpacas had deep blue eyes, a trait that is rare.

They also have Lamas, plus several exotic Sheep, Pigs, Chickens and Angora Rabbits.

My wife was so thrilled to go there, ecstatic actually.

She got to pet all of the animals.

She also was allowed to get into some the enclosures and hand feed the Alpacas, Lamas and Sheep.

It was a nice way for us to spend the day together.

Bill I used to have a dog that would snort to get attention to be let out to poddy or to get food. Never barked or whined. Snorted like a deer. Dogs can sure be funny critters.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! Yesterday was such a great day, I slept good last night and got up at 0530 this morning. I’m on my second cup o’Joe and then I’ll get ready for Sunday school and Church. We have small group this evening, too. My wife was shooting the ‘Cuda Max with me yesterday, at 95 meters (104 yards)… she wants to do it again today, before we go to small group.

2nd day of my BP meds, bought a new cuff because we can't believe the old one.
 Took a reading with it this morning. 168/107... better but not great yet.
Doing Laundry and watching GRIT while surfing GTA.
 Hoosier Momma brought home some of her Coney Sauce she makes for the Golf Course, I am going to divvy it up into lunch sized packets for work and freeze them for later.
Thawing a # of bluegill fillets from fishing earlier last summer for supper. Cast Iron skillet and "Fry Magic" is on the counter top.

But then... The nutters are barking and I need to check that out.

Yes indeed.....that Highland Bull was a big-un.

We were not allowed in the enclosure with him but he was very friendly and came over to us right away to get petted.

He was a lot bigger in person than he looks in this picture.

He looked to me to be around 2 1/2 feet across the front shoulders and had rock hard muscle.

He stood around 5 1/2 feet tall.

Mornin y'all.  Got up about 0800 when Belle insisted she had to go outside.  Moving slow today.  Plans are to go back to the rental house and work on the lawn and exterior of the house some.  This rental just happens to sit on a large wooded lot surrounded by the NWR.  I always carry an airgun along so I can at least pllnk some but there's always the chance of a rabbit or a turkey showing up.

Good morning, not much planned for today, yesterday was busy for me with visiting with family a few counties over and picking up monthly food supply for myself. I picked up a contractor bag full of spanish moss for making pine needle baskets. I have to pick the twigs and leaves out of it before I set it up to be retted. What I am after is the little black thread that is left after every thing else has rotted off. I will comb it like cotton to get the rest of the debris out of it and then spin it into cording. It is mostly used for accenting the baskets.
