My wife is packing to be gone for 3 days herself.  She's getting it all in 1 suitcase or at least that's her goal. Lol

Robert, I had to pack for 16 to 18 days and keep it at 45lbs or less(sometimes flown to remote places by helicopter). That included a tent, sleeping bag, clothes, and basic necessities.

Plans for today, make a mad dash to wally world for supplies before the holiday zoo gets in there. This will get me by until the holidays are over.

All the travel I did for the first 15 years I was with my current employee was 5 days in a back-pack, which was easy-peasy after time in the Navy.

On the sub, I'd pack such that 100+ days of clothes fit in half a bunk-pan.  Picture a space 30" wide, 6 feet long, and ~ 5 inches deep.  I got half that (hot-bunking, you sleep in shifts and you get half the bunk-pan).  At least we didn't have to pack the "home" (tent)


Plans for today?  Hopefully selling my F-150.  It still needs some minor stuff (window trim, interior work) but it's rock-solid and dependable with a burly straight-6, 5-speed manual, and new dual tanks.  A good truck is thus kept out of a salvage yard.    Otherwise, just another work day.  This evening I suspect we'll watch an episode or 2 of the new Jack Reacher season on Amazon.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I got up around 0445 and I’m having coffee. It is Monday, but I don’t have job on me for today, yet. Most everyone seems to be in vacation mode, but mine doesn’t start until Friday. So, I’ll have to call into the office around 0800. Bill, I hope & pray you get to feeling better.

Thanks John... woke up feeling much better. We'll have to wait and see how the day goes. At least, for now, my mustache is now wet from a leaking nose and no sneezing so far. I still feel cold and that's not normal for me.

The sun is shining brightly but it's very deceiving. Temps haven't made it out of the low 50s yet. Only supposed to reach low 60s. I'm just waiting for it to warm a little more before I head out. Might even want to fire up the propane heat in the Red Shed. I'll do my shooting out the window and try to keep some heat in.

I was up from 3:00 AM yesterday morning until 12:30 AM today and then in bed until 7:00 AM this morning.


I feel good, I have no real plans yet. It's Monday and I usually don't do much of anything on Mondays.


I should finish mowing since I didn't last week. The two front fields need it, but not badly. We are supposed to get some rain this week and I might just wait to mow when it isn't so dusty. Waiting seems like a better idea to me right now.


It is supposed to get up to 70°F today so I am sure I will fiddle around outside a bit. I have half of yesterday's Pizza leftover to eat later on.

I hear ya... I've kinda developed a dull headache over the past hour or so.. I'm not so sure I'm out of the woods yet. My ears feel kinda plugged up too. Think I might just hang out here in the recliner for a while longer and see where it goes.

As little as possible.  It’s my last day of my weekend, I am scheduled for OT this week at work, a 32 hours shift on the books for my last 4 shifts this week before Christmas and work is already sending out texts for covering another shift tonight.  I’ll just pack up and go camp at work until Christmas I guess?  Now my wife is trying to get me to go to The Nutcracker Wednesday night.  I’m going to pass.

Hope ya get better soon Matt. I took another day today just to try and get over the last of whatever I had. The problem is, sitting in my recliner all day is gonna hurt when I get up too. I bundled up with a hoodie a couple hours ago and took a walk outside just to loosen up a bit. I may do that again before bed.
