Good Friday morning.
48 out right now and headed for low 60s and no signs of rain.
I know what is NOT on my plan today... Black Friday shopping. Ain't no way I'm exposing myself to that mess. Matter of fact, the only time I will be opening that gate in our fence will be to retrieve the transfer port for a 'lego' build from the mailbox and to get the Hatsan Flash QE from Tim the UPS driver when he arrives.
On another note I been doing a bit of surveying in the wooded swamp pond area on the north end of the property. There is an old raised railroad bed between the swamp pond and the wooded area. When the pond is at full capacity there water on both sides. I'm considering putting a makeshift hide/blind out there. Turtles, snakes, squirrels and pest birds will be the targets.
I have a mess of 3" diameter cane poles that are dried out. I was thinking about a tee-pee type blind. I have a roll of chicken house roll up wall tarp and I would cover that with a layer of camo burlap. I would cut shooting holes in the tarp and cut vertical strips in the burlap.
I'm looking at my options... I could build it on the ground on the raised bed or I can go off to the side and put a platform in the trees that I can walk out on and into the blind.

Pouring rain this a.m.  I’d need a boat to ge to my tree stand today.  The memsahib is awful soft and warm though.  Think I’ll stay in bed a while longer!

Oh, I'm pretty sure they will. The blind will only be 60 or 70 yds from the house so we are aware of the snakes. You don't look around in the trees when walking around here.. you better be looking at the ground where you are walking. And the closer you get to that swamp, the better the chances of running into something that wants to kill you.

Yup, I hate snakes… I always keep my eye out for them, especially if their hide is part my doing.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! I have no real plans for today. Just hanging out at home, unless I get called out to work. Otherwise, we’ll probably finish decorating the tree and go see the lights on the square tonight. I could probably shoot an airgun after it warms up a little. It’s 37* now, only going to get to 53* or so.

That was pretty much the thought behind putting the platform off the ground with a step or 2 up to it. Mocs and copperheads usually hang out on the ground and are less apt to venture up the steps. Rattlers are a different story. I expect the non venomous chicken snakes (rat snake) to be the most common visitors. They climb the trees in search of eggs and babies. But to me, a snake is a snake is a snake. I don't do well with them.
Yeah, I won't be stepping into that blind face first. I might do like I did with my ex wife after being out on an all night bender. I would toss my hat in first and see if it got tossed back out.

Hello folks!

It’s 33 degrees out at the moment.  High of 46 for today.  Everything is frosty white this morning and not a single cloud in the sky with a beautiful bright sun shining!  Cold and clear.  I love this weather. 

Nothing planned for the day yet.  I’ll probably get the Christmas lights out and on the outside.  I think we decided to keep the fall decorations up a bit longer.  I personally like the fall decorations more than the Christmas decorations so I like the idea. 

I didn’t get a chance to shoot any airguns yesterday.  We shot lots of pool but no airguns.  I should do some 50 yard groups with at least the Taipan.  I haven’t shot the Huntsman in a bit.  Maybe I’ll shoot that one? 

Right now I’m caffeinating and procrastinating enjoying the moment.

Betty Lou avoids places where the snakes go. I highly doubt she will ever go in there, with or without me. But yes, that would be funny.

The sun is out!  The memsahib's charms have paled as I contemplate potential good squirrel hunting spots near by.

I'll carry the C362 and leave the XS60C in the truck for back up.  They both like the same types of ammo so it makes sense.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I woke up at 0422 and fell back to sleep another whole hour before I got up. I’m going to grab my second cup o’Joe and contemplate what’s on the agenda for today. I did wind up working last night, so I need to keep in mind that I could get called out again. Only big thing I haven’t finished that I could do is put up the Christmas decoration containers and get the car back into the garage. I’ll probably get that done without much of a sweat.

Only plans today are to make the house "presentable" for the family tomorrow.
  We let everyone have the official Thanksgiving on Thursday with their in-laws... Tomorrow is "home coming" for just the immediate family, no pressure.
Mom is going to FL. so it will just be us and the girls... and their men... and kids.

I was up at 3:15 and couldn't go back to sleep. Rambo thought 3:15 was the new breakfast time. But I let him know that it was not. I put on coffee and watched a couple recorded sporting events. At about 5 I fed the dogs and they went out. At 6 Betty Lou got up and I went to the Red Shed.
I opened the window to the north side 30 yds range and commenced to tinkering and sighting in the new to me Hatsan Flash QE.
I just took a break and came in to have coffee with Betty Lou.

I was awake until about 2:40 AM I was wide awake 4 hours and 18 minutes later. I got 2:29 minutes of restful sleep. I woke up with a sinus headache this morning. I hope it goes away, we have theater tickets to go see a Play today. It's a small Playhouse Theater about 40 miles away. They have some great Plays there, their plays and musicals are exclusive, original productions seen by over 30,000 guests each year. We bought tickets to Scrooge for my oldest daughter, her husband and their three youngest. Unfortunately the oldest granddaughter's family can't go because her kids are too young so they will stay behind with the toddler and baby.

Up and at it late, such a difference from when I was up and at it early a few months ago... Had my son all day yesterday but still managed to get out and celebrate my birthday with my little sister.

Restless night last night for some reason….  Awake @0600, dozed until 0700.  Up, reheated coffee, read and surfed.  Made omelets for Mrs. P and me (ham, asparagus, Parmesan).  Refilled the coffee cup and now I’m hunting motivation.  Amazing cold and clear morning.  It was 27 when I got up, it’s 30 out now.  No plans for the day.  I’m semi caught up on the urgent things on the TO DO list.  The adventure awaits!
