 I got up at 5:00 AM, I plan spending some time with some grandkids and great grandkids from out of State, they got here around 1:00 AM. We have our regular mid-week Bible Study tonight too.

I just remembered I am going to try again to get my hair cut, I went yesterday but my regular Barber Shop was closed and my alternate wasn't taking any walk-ins.

My sister arrived and we'll be spending the day prepping for Thanksgiving.   She's a much better cook than my wife or myself.    And the best part is sis can prep about 5 times faster than me.

If someone or something comes anywhere close to the property, both dogs alert. If it's only one they are just trying to get attention. Boss playfully growls, sings and barks and Rambo whines and stomps his feet. But if they both start the deep growl and back you might want to go have a look.

Bill I love the yams and green bean casseroles when they're made real tasty and usually go for 2nds on those. The other stuff I can do without personally.

Betty Lou makes baked candied yams with butter, brown sugar and marshmallows. It's more like a desert. I can't help but go in for seconds. Those are some of the first leftover to get gone.

Speaking of TDay food... I can't believe sweet taters (yams) are among America's top 3 least favorite TDay food items along with cranberry sauce and green bean casserole. We won't be having any of the latter 2 but sweet taters? Really, I usually have seconds.
Now I would agree if the top 3 were something like Brussels sprouts, mince meat pie and fruit cake. 

My wife doesn’t like traditional thanksgiving food but as long as I have a say it’s going to be traditional.  I personally love all that stuff!

I caught what you said, precisely, and I agree. Once things happen, it’s hard, if not impossible to get put back to where you once were. I think it was a good warning. I think sometimes it’s hard to fight through the pain to get better. I know I have my days.

My plan for today is to eat until my body weight increases until my butt makes the divot in my recliner get deeper.
The goal is to accomplish this with the least amount of effort. No calories will be wasted during the process.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thanksgiving! I got up at 0500 and I’m about to grab my second cup o’Joe. I’m On-Call this week and with the way things went these past few weeks, we’re having anything but a traditional Thanksgiving. We’re going to Golden Corral about 1300 hrs. Ayrabella isn’t feeling too good, either. There’s a chance that if my wife whipped up a traditional Thanksgiving, it’d just be for herself. It started as a joke during the last NASCAR race: I saw a commercial for Golden Corral for the holidays, so my wife called to see if they were really open on Thanksgiving… they are open from 1000-1800 hrs. My wife loves Golden Corral, so she was seriously considering it. I told her there won’t be any leftovers, so she thought maybe it was a stupid idea. I told her this year it’s fine, we’ll have fun and get full anyhow. It’s freezing outside right now, right at 32*, but it’s supposed to get to 60* today. If I don’t get called out for work, I need to finish up with the Christmas decorations and straighten up the garage to get the car back inside. If I still have time, I’d like to shoot some airguns, maybe.

I did venture out to the Red Shed just to have a look around. The temp fell to mid 30s here last night. They climbed to low 50s now but it still just below 40 in there. If it weren't for the food fest today I would fire up the propane stove and do some airgun related stuff I think I'll just hang out in the house, eat and watch some football. I have a new to me gun arriving tomorrow so I know I'll be out there regardless of the temps.

  There will be 11 of us here today, 6 adults and 5 great grandkids. My oldest daughter from Montana with her husband and their three youngest, and her oldest daughter her husband and her two kids from Idaho.

Up at 0630.  Made cappuccino and omelets.  Read, surfed, talked with Mrs. P.  Watched crows and squirrels take old peanuts 🥜 that I dumped in a pile at th base of a black walnut tree.  Planning on shooting an air rifle.  The hard part is deciding which one.  They all have their appeal. 

Family should be here around 1300 hrs.  I’ll set the bird in the smoker around 1100 hrs.  Spatchcocked turkey and the rest of the traditional meal will take place.  We will have 11 here at the house, that’s -3.  Two are in Oregon and one is in Minnesota.

Around 1100 hrs we will get the heat and lights on in the shop and get the pool hall warmed up for an afternoon of play.  We will get the fire pit rolling too.  It’s high clouds with breaks of blue sky currently.  No rain is predicted for today.  Everything else is pretty much ready to go so right now I’m still chilling in the chair and contemplating which air rifle to go shoot.

I heard that it disappears quick so I try to get 2nds asap! I could eat Thanksgiving food pretty much weekly. So good!
