Good morning! Are you up yet? What's your plans for today?

Good morning!  I love Friday and Saturday mornings because I don’t have to wake up to the alarm.  Opened my eyes just before 7 and laid there nice and cozy with Mrs. P.  Up and made coffee, eggs and toast (Dave’s Goodseed) with peanut butter.  It’s another sunny day and I think the last before the rain comes tomorrow.  I will wander around here for a bit then I’ll head over to mom and pops to play pool then off to work after that.  I have tomorrow off work so this is a real Friday for me even though I won’t be home until around midnight. 

I’m looking forward to having some time off of work.  I’ve been working since I was 13 years old and I’m 51 now.  Life is busy but good.  I don’t wish my life away but I do look forward to the next chapter in life just simply for a different routine/scenery.  I realistically will continue to work where I am for 11 more years but I’ll cross that 30 year mark in 6.  After that I’m not sure what I’ll do.  I’m hoping to find something that will be more focused on others (ministry/humanitarian/volunteer) than myself (financial).

The boss man called right after I made that post this morning and told me to be sure to wear my monkey suit and all my fruit salad today.

They actually made me wear a tie!  Yeah I got stuck driving a boat load of VIP's.  Had my picture made with about fifty people.  I had to stand around and be photogenic (which I ain't).  But the boss likes all the shiny tin I have acquired over the last twenty years.  So they trotted me out to impress people.

Probably because of my presence everything went off without a hitch!

Morning...
Up at 5am. Put the coffee on and fed the dogs. We have one of those magnetic door screens on the back door leading from the bar to the ramp outside. I opened the door and let the dogs go out and back in when they wanted. I didn't have to watch for them on the security camera to let them in the front door.
I need to install a switchable light back there. That's one plan for today. I'm sure there will be other things to do along the way.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I slept in until 0600. My plan for today is to get the Christmas stuff out of the attic, clean the gutters, mulch the leaves and use the blower to clean up. Yesterday I started a fire in the pit and was burning downed wood that’s along our wood line, there’s a whole bunch of it. I used the tractor to fill and dump bucket loads into the fire pit. I’m planning on keeping that going, too, as I stirred up the first rat in that downed wood I’ve ever seen here. He was about 7”-8” long and as fat as any of our squirrels, so he’s been eating good. I really need to eradicate any pest homes I’ve provided unintentionally. At present, there’s a toad in my garage I haven’t been able to catch and he’s driving me nuts that I haven’t been able to get him out. Usually it’s mice and I catch them on sticky traps.

Update: the moment I posted this, the toad hopped in the back doorway. I opened the back door and swished him out with the hand broom. Well, that’s one less critter in here.

I've been busy converting the Notos guns for customers to carbon fiber bottle guns. Lots of learning and really great ideas coming from folks who want something that fits their situation better than what they currently have.

This sure is a fun gun to work on, easy to break down and modify.

I was up at 6:00 AM, I need to try to get our place ready for Thanksgiving. We had plans to go to my daughters about an hour away but they canceled.  FedEx is supposed to deliver my 100 year 362 and Fortify today so, I'll be waiting and watching for that too.

So I have today off of work.  I had originally planned to take it off because we were going to help out an organization by volunteering to work at a concert.  As time got closer to the date I felt like I should stay home that evening and be with my family.  We notified that we weren’t going to be available but I kept the time off scheduled so now I have the evening off work to be with my people.  We have no real plan but I’m thinking that we will have a nice dinner, hang out outside, maybe play some games later and simply just be together.  The pool table in the shop is always a gathering place and maybe we can find a nice clean family movie to finish off the evening later.  Until then the kids have school and I may go tackle raking some more leaves.  Everything is white outside from frost so I’ll continue sipping coffee while it warms up a few degrees .

Well, I typed that up before I went outside and really checked it out what happened last night and dang if we didn't only get.050 of an inch of rain. Most of it has already dried up so I might be going out and doing a little weed whacking. We were suppose to get.250 of an inch last night.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I got up at 0415, started the coffee and checked the fire pit. A huge pile of coals and one little log, so I raked it all into the middle to burn up. Just finished my first cup o’Joe and I’ll have another while I read and relax before I get moving. Sunday school starts at 0900 and Ch**ch at 1000 hrs. We have a potluck meal after Ch**ch. After that, I need to start putting up Christmas decorations for my wife. No small group this afternoon, so we’ve got all day after the potluck, I see a nap as a possibility on the agenda.

Mornin y'all!  The dogs let me sleep until 8.  Yesterday was a long fun day at my favorite WMA.  Today I'm headed for my local "squirrel spot" just a few miles away.  Temps are in the seventies so I'll be taking Flash and my XS60C.  Good combination.  Flash trees them and the XS60 kills them.

Woke up @0430 with a disturbing dream, went back to sleep until the alarm went off at 0600.  Dozed until 0620.

Up and made coffee, the beep just went off telling me it’s ready so, I’ll go grab a cup.  Hang on…. Ok, got a cup of coffee now. 

I’ve read some, prayed some and now I’m surfing some.  Going to read some more along the way.  We have SS and church then I don’t really know what.  We did some gutter clearing, leaf raking and lawn mowing yesterday.  There are still some piles that need picked up and dumped out back so if it’s not too wet outside later we should get those up and moved and I do hope to enjoy an outdoor fire (we had one going most of the day yesterday while we worked).

The plan is to spend a quite birthday outside with Italian sausage sandwiches on the open fire grill and some airguns.
Betty Lou and I went out to a nice breakfast. My birthday gift will be just a quite uneventful day spent the three individuals in my life that I love.

After 67 years on this Earth I did not know/realize that the Gettysburg Address was delivered by Lincoln on this day, November 19th... my Birthday. Ya learn something new everyday.

I'm back from the woods.  I ended up taking Belle along as well as Flash.  Flytrap and the memsahib needed a break from Belle.  We saw no squirrels and not much else thanks to Belle but the dogs had a fabulous time.  The river is just shallow pools at that spot and they had a great time playing in the water.  I walked about 2 miles.  Flash walked about five and Belle ran a good ten miles.

Mission accomplished.
