Been up an hour or so. I woke up when Betty Lou was getting back into bed after taking care of the dogs. I didn't hear them this morning. Gonna grab a second 20oz coffee and head out to the Red Shed. Haven't quite decided which of the 3 or 4 projects on the list I'll tackle first. Most likely fire up "casting corner" and make a plan while things are coming up to temp.
I plan on moving the ATV Quonset but Betty Lou said she wanted to help so that may wait until she gets up and around in a couple hours. I might rake and clear the spot. It's 63 out now and predicted to be 83 by the afternoon with full sunshine throughout the day... no rain in sight.
I know the Beeman 1358 is on the shooting bench and I need to pull the barrel and replace the orings. That just may be where I start.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday!!! I got up at 0500, had 2 cups o’Joe and went to the chiropractor. Now, I’m at work. Finished one job and I’m hoping the job I’m on now will be my last for today. I’m on-call this weekend, so no point in working more than I have to today.

Outta bed around 0915.  Ate oats and having coffee while reading and surfing.  First frost last night so everything was white this morning.  Sun is out and it’s supposed to be clear the next 2-3 days.  Back to work this afternoon for a 16 hour shift after having been off the last 7 days. I’ll straighten up some stuff before I leave, vacuum the car out and get things ready for my long shift.  I’ll go play pool with pops then head into work.  I’m thinking about taking my fire pit and some wood to work so I can have a fire this evening

Afternoon y’all.  I woke up with the dogs this a.m.  For some reason I decided to call work and tell them I wasn’t coming in today.  Went back to bed.  Got up about a quarter of two.  Feeling like well digested food.

Funny how my body knows when I’m sick even when I don’t.

I slept OK, got up early, had coffee, got the ladder out and picked Pomegranates.


My wife and I are going to spend some time with grandkid and great grandkids that are visiting from Idaho this afternoon.

I haven’t made it to bed yet, so, I’m still up. I haven’t said anything about this yet, but a young friend of mine was killed in a head on collision- a quarter past midnight Tuesday morning on his way home from work in Kansas. I mentored him for a bit, nearly a year, while he worked for us. A part of me loved him like a brother, but more like a lost son. I will attend his celebration of life on Tuesday, November 7th in Oklahoma, where he was from. My mom just called and told me my stepfather passed away tonight. We knew it was coming, but we weren’t really prepared. His funeral will be in Hot Springs, between the 9th-11th the end of the week of my buddy’s funeral. I’m going to try to get some sleep.

Moved the ATV Quonset and got a good bit of leaf raking done. Then I built a fire on that same stump I burned last time. It should have burned to ground level or below. I'll check it this morning. Betty Lou and I sat around the fire and enjoyed a few beers. I think we decided to make this a permanent fire ring location.
Today the plan is to continue the leaf clean up. I want to give grass a good chance to take root and grow.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday!!! I woke up at 0526 and stared at the clock a minute and got up. I thought it was Sunday, I’ve done that all this week, thinking I’m ahead by a day. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, especially for your prayers. I’m mostly just fine with everything being what it is, but I have moments I’m not sure what I’m thinking, like zoning out on my thinking. I know everything is going to be fine, but over the next several days I have to plan stuff out to be where I need to be over the next couple weeks. No real plans for today. The temperature is dropping here and it’s raining. It’s supposed to rain all weekend. I’m having my coffee and I just made another pot. After the next 2 cups o’Joe, I’ll take a shower and get dressed. I’m on call this weekend. I’m hoping not to get called out. I’m sure I’ll talk with my Mom and sister some more this morning at some point.

I lost my mom and my brother in-law within days of each other so I know it can be tough. So sorry for your loss John and I'm 🙏 for you.

Was out at the break of day again this morning. I moved the fire put from the old location that was near Betty Lou's clothes line. I put the ring around that tree stump we have been burning outside on off to the right of the lean to roll up door. Then I surrounded it with the rocks. It turned out really good so I just had to light a fire to break it in.
As I was sitting near the fire with a cup of coffee and admiring my work I realized the the log stack was still against the side of Betty Lou's she shed.. near the old fire pit location at the other side of the house. Well, we just can't have that can we?
I picked out 2 trees that were about 6' apart and near the new location then I began moving them one yard wagon full at a time. I pulled the wagon with the Rancher atv. I moved 7 loads and still have 4 or so left to go. On the plus side, the most recent cut logs are now on the bottom and the older seasoned stuff is on top.
At about 9:30 or so Betty Lou brought me a plate of pancakes and eggs. I sat near the fire and had breakfast. Me and Rambo smashed that plate in no time.
By noon I was soaked in sweat and my hips and lower back told me it was time to quit. I came in and took my second shower of the day.
Now I'm watching the prerecorded NASCAR qualifying but the urge to get back outside is building. The sun has been replaced with overcast skies but it's still low to mid 80s out there. Not supposed to rain until after the first of the week.

John was he at fault for the collision or the other driver, plus did the other driver die too? I'm grateful every time I leave and come back safe because I know it could happen to me anytime. None of us are promised tomorrow.
