Mawnin y'all.  Man that was a PARTY!.  I think we got some wind and a little rain.  Mostly blew off to the east of us.  Bummer.  I was hoping for a good blow that would bring some trees down.  I could lose a few in my yard and I'd rather have my home owners insurance pay me for them than me pay a tree surgeon.

We're all good here.  It hardly looks like there has been a storm at all.  Since I've been up for about 24 hours straight my plans are to get some sleep.

Cap, I was more than a little concerned for your safety yesterday, when one of the NEWS stations had a storm arrow pointed at Sopchoppy.  I am glad you are good to go.  Some got hit hard though.

I was sweating bullets last night.  When the storm hadn't started turning east by midnight I stuck the dogs and the family in the truck and we drove up toward Dothan AL.  Spent a few hours in Alabama and started for home about 7:00 a.m. eastern time.  Caught the tail end of the winds out on the interstate but it was calm by the time we got home at 9:15.  I feel sorry for the folks over around Cross City and Steinhatchee.  They got hammered.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! I got up at 0530 and I’m having coffee. Today is my Friday, I’m taking the next 5 days off. Yesterday I put a retrofit compressor in an air conditioner that was short to ground from the get go. Wiped me out, all that work and no ac. Today I have to help a guy get a heavy fan motor on a roof, change out the fan motor and a frequency drive. I also need to find out what they’re going to do about that bad compressor from yesterday. I’m glad you all got through that storm OK.

Well I don't have to go to Jury Duty today but I have to go do yardwork at our place in town. The Hedges are needing trimmed badly and weeds for the rains need to be dealt with. It is supposed to get to 96° today so I have to roll out now to try to beat the heat.

I worked on it until noon and got most of it done but it got up to 98°F and I got pretty overheated working out in the sun. I am home now sipping ice tea in front of a fan in my underwear getting cooled down. I washed my neck, face, arms and torso but as soon as I feel a little more energetic I will shower, the sun whipped me. If I knew I would have another chance to work on it I would have quit sooner instead of pushing myself near heat stroke.

Funny, I very rarely go around the house without being fully dressed. But as hot I as I was I needed to get cooled down. Even the ride home was hot because I drove my 1969 GMC and it doesn't have AC. I have the back of it loaded with hedge trimmings and weeds so, I will have to go out and unload that too. I think I will wait until right before sunset when it is a little cooler though.


My knees, and back are in a lot of pain now.

Awake at 5:00 today I am just trying to relax, waiting to leave for Jury Duty.


My hips, knees, and back and shoulders are in a lot of pain after yesterday's yardwork.


My forearms are sore for the muscle spasms they had that lasted about an hour.


 I did drink some water but not nearly as much as I sweated out. 
 I know better but all I had to drink was the nasty tasting city water so I only drank three glasses in five hours of working in the heat. I have to remember to take good water with me or just drink more of that icky water anyway! 


 When I got home I should have started with Propel instead of ice tea too.

Mornin y'all.  I'm driving boats today which means I'm watching the weather channel and Blitzortung and cancelling boat tours.

Cancelled the first to tours today because of lightning.  We'll see how it goes from here.

Up and at it early. After taking a couple days off of yard duty to let my body recoup I took a walk about around the area I recently cleared. That was just after daylight.
Ok so, the blades on the Husky lawn tractor are pretty much hosed so I figured it wouldn't hurt to do some mulching and grading.  With the deck at it's highest setting I made the first run. Chopping leaves and small sticks and blowing them towards the outer perimeter. Then I dropped the deck from 6 to 4 and went at it again. This pass dug quite a bit deeper into the "over burden". Talk about "dirty jobs"... WOW !.
After a couple hours of that I felt like all the creepy crawlies in the World got together for a party... on me. 
Once Betty Lou, Boss and Rambo inspected and approved the work.. (the latter two gave it more of a memorable approval) I put the tractor up and hit the shower.
I think I might go out to the Red Shed and do some airgun related stuff after breakfast.

Light rain falling on and off here, badly needed. Load chicken feeders, mail run, mow grass in between the rain, just take the day as it comes.

Best layed plans of mice or men often go astry. I know every time I plan to do this or that in the yard the wife makes it a left turn clide.

I'm impressed.   There is no way I could maintain concentration and decent control to properly shoot 100 pellets through my FWB601.   My back wouldn't hold up that long either.   The last 60 or 70 shots would be basically plinking.   I might be able to do it over 3 sessions in one day.
