Good morning GTA! Happy Friday - we made it!!! I got up way earlier than necessary, 0400. I’ve got a 2 hour drive to my first job, but I’m going to visit my chiropractor on the way out. The plan is to work as hard as needed, then Fred Flintstone it back to the house, Yabba-Dabba-Doo!!!

Bad start so for.. I hope the rest of the day goes better.
We keep the dog food on the back screened in porch in a large tote with a lid so as not to attract critters.
We fill a cereal box size tupperware container at a time to keep in the house to fill their bowls twice a day. Last time we bought dog food we learned that they did not like Bistro flavored K&B so we bought a bag Pedigree beef and we mix them together.
After filling the inside small container with half and half I was shaking it around to mix it and the lid came off. Dog food went everywhere. I spent the next 30 minutes moving, sweeping and cleaning. I had to make sure I got every piece so we wouldn't get mice.

Nothing like dog food confetti first thing in the morning, huh Bill. I guess it's no worse than a bag of chicken feed coming apart in the van and it's the crumbles and not the pellets. I just go get a few of the beaked hoovers and let them have at and vacuum up the rest when they are done.

Manage to get the fire line open to where I can get the tractor down it and clean up the rest. Today is tackle the fishing tackle. I am taking a break from the yard for a few days. The the afternoon storms have put a quash to some of the yard projects so it's fishing in the morning and other chores that don't require being outside most of the day.

LOL @ Bill.  I'm laughing because the last bag of dogfood I opened by cutting the top of the bag off.  I carefully lifted it and the entire bottom stitched seam just opened.  Our largest dog, Elvis, just looked at me like it was the best gift ever.

The time I spent outside this morning tinkering and puttering- about 40 minutes- is paying me back.  My throat is tender from particulate.  I'm healthy with good cardio, so if it is impacting me like this, I can only imagine how it impacts those with respiratory ailments.  It is alarming and amazing how much some fires hundreds of miles away are impacting everywhere.

I sympathize with y'all what has got the smoke problem. 
Better get used to it.  I predict that this will be a regular yearly occurrence until the fuel load is reduced

Good afternoon GTA!!! Well, I’m at work and just had my wife meet me to go send her home with a new pool. I set up last year’s pool, wound up with at least 3 leaks and for some crazy reason, it still wasn’t level. We’ll get to cool off in the old one today after work and tomorrow evening. Then I’ll drain it Friday night and we’ll redo the leveling and setup the new one. The main problem is we usually do this kind of work together, Andi & I. We’ve both been busy and I’ve been working on this pool by myself. Oh well. The new pool is 2’ wider and 12” deeper: 14’x42”.

My wife has been hinting for a larger pool this year.  The pool is the cheap part 😆

This is what I did today to make a solid, level foundation for this new pool we are getting.  The pad is 26' X20'.  The pool is supposed to deliver Monday.  I'll lay paver stones under each leg and I need to get a couple pads on the way to lay the pool on.  I think we are planning on leaving it set up year round. 

First image was what we started with this morning (picture was taken yesterday after moving all of the wood.
Second image is where it is as of this moment.  We also brought in some more topsoil to fill in some low spots and level out the lawn fron mole tunnels.  Need to get grass seed spread out next and keep some water on it.

I see you left plenty of space for a pool side deck.

Yup, you’re doing it right, Brett! I’m just trying to get done, and I’m barely making it. We picked yet another spot we agreed on. It’s already leveled, near the area we setup our 1st & 2nd year here. We’re going to move the sand, use a new tarp and paver stones. That’s how we did it then, but I’m hoping this will be the last year for this kind of work. I don’t have a crew!

I feel for ya there.  Projects go so much quicker even with just one more set of hands.  When I'm running solo on projects it seems like it's taking forever and a day.  Hang in there brother, the finish line is closer with every step 🏁🏁🏁

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! Well, it rained hard yesterday afternoon until evening. I drained the old pool when I got off work. There’s a huge band of storms moving in from the west and looks like it’s going to rain hard some more today. It shouldn’t last all day, but I’m not so sure it’ll be dry enough to get the materials moved and the new pool up today. We’ll just have to see how it goes. I’ll prep what I can, but I’m not doing this ever again, so I will be patient. I have a Barn Meeting tonight.

Plans?
Well.... I PLAN to cast some .22 pellets and shoot them.
In the interim I need to go to the Store and pick up some Bully snacks for the Dawg. She is out of them and really not happy about it. (morning routine).
Yesterday the new Awning fabric for the camper was delivered so I should replace that.
Oh and run the "weed whacker"... ALOT!
Maybe I'll just go Fishing.
But there is a Hammock between two trees calling my name.
Then cast some more .22 pellets and shoot them.

But in reality... SHMBO is up and about, heading to work and  I am about to be given instructions.

Rolled out at 0dark:30 (4:00am). I guess I was just done sleeping. Me and Rambo went out for a look see and both of us peed (yes, outside because that's what us old dawgs do). I slipped around to the Red Shed and fired up the pot and mold oven.  Then he came in and ate and ate and I hit the shower while the coffee was brewin'.
When I got out of the shower boss greeted me want to eat and go out. (she peed alone).
Now I'm in the Red Shed and have cast my first and final run of .22 Magnum. The .22 Hunter mold is in the oven heating up while the put back sprues are coming up to 700f.
Just gonna do what I do and see what the rest of the day holds in store.

Good morning, up and doing damage control from yesterday's disasters, I think some of Bill's mojo rubbed off on me. Everything I did or touched went south. Bill don't spill any more dog food first thing in the morning, it's bad ju ju. Anyway, all good, most of the disaster have been mitigated this morning and to get some other stuff completed before the rains come. Hoping to make it to the coast somewhere in the morning to put some fish in the smoker and in the freezer.

Getting ready to end my work shift and head home.  Turn around and come back in at 3pm for my last shift of the week.  I'm not 100% sure what I have planned (will do) for the time in between.  Coffee with Mrs. P is on the agenda, most likely.  I still haven't put that cabinet up for airgun stuff.  I really need to do that. 

It been raining since yesterday, not heavy but light and steady.  I'm happy for it actually because it's good for the lawn and the plants.  Clears the air too.

Well, I slept in til 0600… after I made my first post- it got black as night and stormed. It’s a slow steady rain now and looks like it’ll ramp up again very soon. I don’t think we’ll get much pool work done today. I think I might get the old pool off the tarp and loaded in the utility trailer for the dump, if it stops raining. I’ll leave the tarps pinned down until I know we won’t get more rain. I have some more non-metal from the scrap pile to go on the trailer with the old pool. Like I said, I’ll try to be patient, but might as well multitask where I can. It’d be nice if I can get that pad cleared off this summer. I really need more time (better time management) and organization.

Up right before 6 AM today after 5 hours in bed. I am almost done with my coffee and have a lot to do towards getting ready for a trip to MO for a granddaughter's wedding. A few small trailer repairs and getting new tires on it and a good cleaning, then loading our stuff too. I have been distracted with gathering all the bits and pieces to get the 1969 CT90 going. I have most of what I will need, I think? I still am waiting on 3 specialty tools so I can disassemble it completely and will probably find some more parts it will need when I do.  That has to wait now though I have to focus  on getting ready for our trip.

Dang mutt snuck out behind my legs as I was trying to get out the north gate and ran like heck up towards the neighbors house. Shouted for him to come back but he was having none of it. I figured he can take care of himself until he gets thirsty and wants back in. So I walk over to where they've been moving rocks from the fence and stack up a bunch more but on the outside of the fence where they'll have a harder time moving them. Came back in the yard and started my morning poop patrol. Sure enough, there's a#$ hole by the north gate panting from all the running he's done. Biggest problem with him running around outside the fence is the rancher who has free range cattle roaming around shoots stray dogs.

What tools do you need?

I ordered the clutch nut spanner socket, flywheel puller, and clutch holder. I probably could make something work but just wanted to have the proper tools. I am still waiting on some new parts and don't have time to do it now anyway.

 I just discovered the potable water tank in the trailer is shot, all three fittings are broken off the bottom. One hose had just fallen to the ground so that is how I discovered it, I guess those tanks last 15 years, LOL. I have a tire appointment this afternoon, so I'll have to get it hooked up soon. Right now I am eating lunch though. I ordered a new mattress and bedding to make it more comfortable. I doubt I will be able to fix the water tank before we have to leave.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I got up around 0400, started the coffee and went back to sleep for almost an hour. We got a lot of rain yesterday, so I didn’t get much done. I’m on call this upcoming week, so I might try to get something done with the pool in the middle of today. We’ve Sunday school & Ch**ch this morning and small group this evening. We’ll just have to see.

Sunday is my usual "Down Day" to recharge the internal battery... but NOOOOOO.
I get to go grill 120 steaks at 3:30.
