Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday, it’s Hump-Day!!! I got up at 0430, I have my 0600 morning meeting today. After that, I have a 5 door freezer that’s given us fits for some time. Several technicians have worked on it. I fixed it last Friday and got it down to 6* and went to go start paperwork. The setpoint is -7*. When I came in to check it, they had all 5 doors wide open loading it.  I told them they shouldn’t be doing that, not for 24 hours at least. They said they had no choice. I said, oh well, it’s your machine, I’ll see you next week. Well, here we are. I’m going to finish my second cup o’Joe and get ready.

Mornin Y'all!  The schedule has rotated around again until I get three days off in a row!  I've packed the first pipe of the day.  I intend to do some garden harvesting.  The memsahib has prepped two more gallons of cucumbers for pickling.  We'll have to run to town at some point cause we are slap out of dog food.
Mom and her husband have hit the road for the summer.  They are "Sun Birds".  They head north in the summer.  They have a luxurious Class B motorhome and this year they are headed to Minnesota.  Mom is 84 but she wants to paddle on the BWCA or the Gun Flint Trail one more time.  I hope I've got her energy when I'm her age!

I didn't make it to work today.  I did square the day off yesterday so it was no surprise though.  Communication is key for a good employee relationship. 

So my alarm did go off at 0430 this morning just in case I had gone insane overnight and I DID want to head in to work.  I kept my sanity and turned it off, went back to sleep.  Got up at 0645 and took my allergy meds, started making cappuccino and moved into this beautiful sunny morning!  It's supposed to be 86 today which is about as nice as it can get here. 

So far we have enjoyed coffee in the sun while reading, surfing and talking about life.  We came to the decision to purchase a larger swimming pool (12' X 22' X 4') and make a nicer pad to rest it on.  Mrs. P just ordered the pool.  I'll need to order some sort of base for the pad I guess. 

I may rearrange a spot in the shop to mount another cabinet on the wall to store bb guns and pellets. 

There is lots more tone done but I don't think that I am going to commit myself to much more than what's been listed.  I really only want to enjoy my people and our home today.  I can work later.  True wisdom from a Master Procrastinator 🤪🤪🤪

Experimenting with drugs today.   I'm getting so shaky it's really messing with my shooting.   The blood letting didn't seem to help so doc gave me a prescription for traditional chemicals.   It seemed to help yesterday when I was practicing.   I have a match this afternoon so that will be the real test.    If it helps and I enjoy the result, does that make it a recreational drug?

Got the wood moved, grass mowed down, 20' X 26 area marked off for gravel dump,  gravel and dirt ordered for delivery tomorrow morning, tomorrow squared off with work, picked up an OT shift this Friday night into Saturday morning to offset some expense for all this.  BMX races tonight with the fellas and maybe a movie after hours with Mrs. P.  It's been a productive day but once again my completed list varied from what I started out with. It's all good 👌🏼

Results from my prescription change seems to be good.    My composite score today was 15 points higher than my average.   In the final stage I shot the highest score I've shot in decades.   It could just be a fluke but I hope it was the new prescription.   We'll see what happens next time.

Puppy training, gardening, airgun shootin.  The pontoon boat is in the water and I might slip downstream to a little slough I know and string a trot line.  It's the season for fingerling catfish and I'm getting a hankering for a mess of fried catties!

Good morning, finishing up the last of the fire line plowing and opening up the southwest corner of my fence line to finish fixing the fence the neighbor wiped out a few years ago. Hopefully get to the fishing stuff without a thunderstorm to deal with this afternoon.

I set up last year’s pool, wound up with at least 3 leaks and for some crazy reason, it still wasn’t level. We’ll get to cool off in the old one today after work and tomorrow evening. Then I’ll drain it Friday night and we’ll redo the leveling and setup the new one. The main problem is we usually do this kind of work together, Andi & I. We’ve both been busy and I’ve been working on this pool by myself. Oh well. The new pool is 2’ wider and 12” deeper: 14’x42”.

Today is another "smoke from Canada is here" day.  Sonja already cut the grass this morning- wearing a mask.  Our Cub Cadet walk-behind may be missing 1st, 3rd, 4th, and reverse, but 2nd gear is just fine.  I was tempted to do some more work on the >expletive< Statesman during lunch, but I ended up digging up a pile of 1377 and 2240 pieces- there's enough parts for 1 of each plus some spare parts. 

I still want to finish sighting in the Leshiy with NSAs, but there's no rush on that.

I set up last year’s pool, wound up with at least 3 leaks and for some crazy reason, it still wasn’t level. We’ll get to cool off in the old one today after work and tomorrow evening. Then I’ll drain it Friday night and we’ll redo the leveling and setup the new one. The main problem is we usually do this kind of work together, Andi & I. We’ve both been busy and I’ve been working on this pool by myself. Oh well. The new pool is 2’ wider and 12” deeper: 14’x42”.

My wife has been hinting for a larger pool this year.  The pool is the cheap part 😆

This is what I did today to make a solid, level foundation for this new pool we are getting.  The pad is 26' X20'.  The pool is supposed to deliver Monday.  I'll lay paver stones under each leg and I need to get a couple pads on the way to lay the pool on.  I think we are planning on leaving it set up year round. 

First image was what we started with this morning (picture was taken yesterday after moving all of the wood.
Second image is where it is as of this moment.  We also brought in some more topsoil to fill in some low spots and level out the lawn fron mole tunnels.  Need to get grass seed spread out next and keep some water on it.

6 yards of crushed rock, 15 yards of 3 way topsoil.  Many hands make light work.  I'm SO glad that we have taught our kids to work.  Work HARD they DO! 💥 🦾

Sonja and I woke up today and our eyes are a little irritated with the smoke and particulate drifting down from Canada.  After my years stationed in CA, this brings back less than fond memories.  I started the ionizer fan (a left-over I bought my parents nearly 20 years ago) and it's already making a difference.  I'll be setting up a quad-filter box-fan later today; apparently they have a formal name now- a Corsi-Rosenthal air filter.  I rigged up such a device in the barracks back in the early 90s while I was stationed at Mare Island though I used cheapo air filters, not the higher end stuff.  The folks up in Philly and NJ/NY and around DC have it way worse according to the EPA maps. 

The air isn't that bad right now, but I'm sure by sunset it will have the ugly orange tint. 

Plans for later include picking up the Crosman "Lego" parts and seeing if there's enough to make a 2240 or 1740 pistol.  I mostly-finished a 1377 carbine with a 14" barrel (okay, 14.6") and mounted a red-dot scope.  I also checked my SPA PR900- I haven't picked it up since last year and lo and behold, still sitting exactly at 1500 PSI.  It may be time to dust it off, mount a scope, and take time to dial it in.  Sonja and I talked about adding a regulator to it since we have the high-powered PCP side of things covered, but first I want to send some lead down-range.

Yup, you’re doing it right, Brett! I’m just trying to get done, and I’m barely making it. We picked yet another spot we agreed on. It’s already leveled, near the area we setup our 1st & 2nd year here. We’re going to move the sand, use a new tarp and paver stones. That’s how we did it then, but I’m hoping this will be the last year for this kind of work. I don’t have a crew!
