Mornin..Rambo's wake up call came a bit early this morning. At 4:30 I heard Betty Lou tell him to shut up and go lay down. Her side of the bed is closest to the door and he was whining in her ear.To deescalate the situation, I got up. It's always a good start to the day if Betty Lou gets to decide when to get up... Rambo ate and went out. Coffee made and enjoying the first cup. Boss and Betty Lou are snoring in harmony. The main drain for the kitchen sink, washing machine and shower is draining slow.Apparently that simple minded free loading individual that Killer had here helping him out, supposedly, had a habit of dumping grease and whatever else down the kitchen sink drain. She's the same one that nearly caught the place on fire a couple times. This place was by no means set up with any regard to code.. it's backwoods podunk and no real regulations. There is a main drain line that leaches the gray water out to the sandy property. Black water drains into a septic. 2 separate drain systems. The gray water drain pipe is 2 1/2" pvc and it's only buried 12" and less. It's a good straight run which is good news. I found the end of it yesterday and ran a snake up it as far as I could. I ran into a couple tight spots but was able to push through with little effort. The snake came back out with what looked like a white greasy substance on it. It helped but didn't fix the issue. The drain still runs slow. I'm going to run that snake several more times today and see if I can get it going better. If not I plan on using my small Honda tiller to loosen the ground and uncover the pipe the 50 or 60 feet back to the house to where it comes out of the ground under it. From there I'll see if I can unplug it or if I just need to run a new drain pipe.Killer's nephew officially bought this place and we have the same arrangement with him as we did with Killer. Betty Lou and I will do the work and he will cover any expenses. He's a young man that works very hard on the pipeline. He said if we ever need help that we can just call him. He and his young wife have 2 very young children, one being a newborn, and I don't like to bother them with things we can do ourselves such as the Red Shed project. He offered to help with the clean out, hot tub removal and cutting the roll up door opening but I decided to do it myself.
Yes Tom, we have a product sold locally called Fire. It's very powerful and everyone is supposed to be out of the house and the house should be ventilated while in use. The problem with it is that it can melt plastic pipes. We have plastic pipes.

Ah yes, plumbing issues. Been there, done that. A home built in 1930 with a hodgepodge of plumbing pieced together through the decades. I'll spare all of the details but under the house is ABS and the drain field has been replaced. All done by my hands. It cost a lot and was a lot of work but WAAAAY less expensive then paying a "professional". None of it was appealing but it certainly wasn't as bad as I had anticipated and it's very basic to do. Nothing complex about it. Water flows downhill. 😆😆😆

I don't know what the heck is going on but everything has hit the fan for a few of our friends. 1 just found out he has bladder cancer. Another friend is in the E room with his dad who is in a lot of pain and waiting to be seen Then another friends dog has been diagnosed with cancer. All of this hit today.😳 Plus on top of all that my daughter's mother in-law is still in rehab to try and get her strength back. The friend who has bladder cancer was a chopper pilot in Nam and is only 74.
