Good evening, it was short sleeve weather here today and will be warming for the next week. Today the 10 day forecast was different each time I looked at it Now it says Christmas day will be 79°F at one point it said 81°F

The bottom line is it is going to be beautiful and my wife wants to take an afternoon motorcycle ride out to the Borrego Dessert and the forecast says it is suppose to be 78° there.

Nothing but cold in the forecast around here. I think I saw snow 4 or 5 years ago.. can't remember.

Anyways.. today will be our monthly trip to the big city, Troy Alabama. We'll shop for the bulk and staple items for the month at the big stores. The remainder of the month we just get what we need locally.
It's also bill paying day for the second time since retirement so I'm learning and refining the budget with our new reduced fixed income situation. We won't struggle by any means but we will need to tighten up on a few habits.
Basically it's just a matter of paying more attention and planning. At the end of the day... it's well worth it. 
I made the last payment on the truck this morning and we'll get $170 increase in SS next month so that's like a $500 per month pay raise. My insurance will also be reduced because I won't need to carry full coverage.
These are the reasons my original plan was to wait until I was 66 and 4 months to retire (March 2023) but a bad bout with my health forced me out 6 months early.
But today, I am humble and sooooo grateful.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! I got up at 0430 CST. My guts were on fire and I had a terrible pain in my left kidney. I missed my Wednesday morning meeting, but after my 3rd coffee- I am starting to feel better. My wife just took off to bring Chillie to the vet to get spayed. After this last coffee, I’m getting dressed and back to work on the fenced yard. I’ve got about 120’ left to do, but the t-posts are already done. Chillie will be at the vet at least until around 1430 hrs, Ayrabella will get off the bus just before that and start her winter vacation. It’s supposed to get to around 47* today before the temps drop tomorrow and the big winter storm… hopefully, we’ll get to shoot some airguns later.

I don't think 30s is cold I just think it weird our high temps are going up the same time you guys are getting hammered with snow and cold. I did part of my growing up as in 5-10 years old in Chicago ridge so I know what cold is. I also worked the loading dock in Augsburg Germany loading and unloading food for the military. Walk into the 37f chill box and have it feel like I'm walking into a heated room.

I am going to continue my outdoor (high of 72° today) work gathering scrap metal and sorting and loading it up to be hauled off. I am not on any time limit so I am piddling my way though sorting stuff. I filled both 90 gallon trash cans too with items I no longer want around.

The weeds are getting near mowing height too, so I will need to mow pretty soon, maybe that will wait until next week though.

 Heat wave coming today was 2f not long ago, now up to 3f and climbing. Plan to wait for the heat of the day and go cut up another load or 3 of firewood for the upcoming BLIZZARD

Well I survived the grocery run to the big city. We stopped and stocked up on vape supplies as well. They were having a 2 for one sale so we made out there.
I'll call my doctor and make an appointment. I need to reup on my diabetes meds.

I can tell you stories about THAT Blizzard!
Like walking a block to a store, in Girl boots, to get smokes. The snowmobilers taking supplies to people IN TOWN.
Every person with heavy equipment trying to clear roads.....

And after effects.
Like a couple Idiots I know that several days later put an Opel Station Wagon on top a snow drift as high as a telephone pole.
Then them trying to DIG IT OUT!!!

 

This is nothing more then Media trying to scare people for whatever reason they do this BS!
OH NO!! It's a Bomb Cyclone! No.... It's Krampus coming for all the bad kids out there!!!

LOL true that Jeff. If we get a dusting of snow here like we did a few years back, they roll up the sidewalks and close everything down. You are not even, by law, allowed on the roads unless it's an absolute emergency. I couldn't imagine any of these folks surviving a winter in places like Buffalo, NY.

My years on the road? I've driven through more stuff then most people see in there yards!
I could tell stories that scare people nearly to death! Like 32 hours driving through an Ice Storm from Nevada to Ohio!
Using a propane torch to heat the front windshield so I could see and keep the ice off!

I drove a tow truck for a wrecker service that was on the rotation for the County Sheriff and State Police in Ashtabula Ohio which is just east of Cleveland on the banks of Lake Erie one winter. I would have to go out and recover folks stranded on the State and County roads at all hours. Yeah, I saw my share of craziness.

I'm trying to straighten out an insurance and DMV issue re a salvage title.   I guess I'll be spending most of the afternoon on hold waiting for the next available representative.    This is not the ideal time of year to be waiting for that representative.
