I don’t know, Dan… sometimes things like that happen that I can’t explain. You just hope there isn’t something else intermittently happening. But if you couldn’t adjust it, makes sense to replace the thermostat.

It would not display anything except the current temp, the only switch that did anything was the fan on still worked. When trying to turn on the heater or air the switch appeared to do nothing and the temp set buttons didn't bring up the displayed setting on the display. So, it seemed logical to be the first thing to try by installing a new one. To make it a very simple swap I just ordered the same model so I could skip mounting a new base. Nowhere local had it, but it wasn't urgent since no-one is living there currently. I do have a Yamaha piano there so I want to keep the climate stable for the piano's sake as well as for when we are there sorting things out for an estate sale. There is still a lot to be done before selling it, which is my plan.
 I like it and it is in great condition, better shape than where I currently live except it is a two bedroom and where I live is a four bedroom. It is in a nice 55+ retirement mobile home area on it's own small lot with no space like I am use to. There is a HOA, so there are "rules", there is a club house with some recreation including a pool too. I just don't want to live in town with no real yard and neighbors within earshot. 

  If I went minimalist, didn't care about shooting, only having two off street parking spots, and didn't mind living in town with no space, it would be almost ideal for me and the wife. Nope, I don't want or need that yet. My younger brother lives a few streets over in the place my dad bought there when he moved back to town when his ten acre place got to be too much for him to keep up.

Well the big storm last night has blown itself out and the sun is coming out.  That's good for me because I'll be out in a boat all day! might try and call Crosman CS if I get the chance and order some parts!

Went out to the Red Shed early this morning.. man, I can't believe how much stuff I've collected during the short 10 years that we've been in Alabama. Alot of it is redundant. I should have a yard sale but I don't like the idea of random people coming on our property.

Good morning GTA! Our weather has return to dry and we are in a warmer trend. It is looking like Christmas day and the week leading up to it is great motorcycle riding late morning and afternoons. Currently it is getting down in the 30's nightly around the valley but we are looking at 63°F-72°F highs daily for our 10 day. OK I can't actually see Christmas day on the 10 day, just the 24th that is forecast to be 72°F and sunny.

 I am going to get outside for some more yardwork and fresh air and exercise for 5 or 6 hours a little later on. There are weeds to take care of since we got an 1 1/4" of rain last week.
 Also I "acquired" (it was abandoned here by the guy that had a stroke) about a hundred pounds? of bolts, screws nails, brads, misc..., that would take too long to sort. Stainless, aluminum, brass, steel all jumbled together. Plumbing and electric hardware too. It's really just a mess that I don't want to mess with. I am going through stuff and getting a scrap metal load ready to haul off too. A lot of it is good hardware but I decided to scrap most if it because I am not going to sort or move it when I leave here and selling would be about impossible and not worth the effort as far as I am concerned at this point.

I also have two 35' semi trailers both have metal stairways into the back doors, one with car parts and other stuff I need to clear out. It's an accumulation of things I saved over the years (for parts", mostly) that I am ready to get rid of now while I still can do it myself. The other semi trailer has kept donated things neat and out of sight that didn't sell in our last Church yard sale. We just need to get rid of most of that stuff now too. Anything that is good enough to be donated to Goodwill or Salvation Army will be and the rest scrapped or dumped.

The easy to sort bigger metals will be sold to the scrapyard, I am just not going to sort the small stuff.

Anyway I will be working on this while the weather is under 85°F and when there is no rain. Except for the time I need to spend in town at that place. I see it taking me six months or more to get it all done at my pace which is very slow compared to what "I use to could" LOL.

Pause, think, re-prioritize, I need to by a couple of trailer tires and a couple for the '71 Chevy
Put the green waste out to the street, load up a Honda Elite to bring back out here and get a haircut and then get started on the list above.

Looking in the mirror jogged my memory of the needed haircut and the rest is consolidation of trips to town.

I better get started so I can beat the green waste pick-up.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday- we made it! Up at 0500 CST. My first job this morning is a cooler with a broken door handle. For as long as I’ve been here, we don’t repair door handles- the store managers are supposed to order and fix them themselves. But, I’ll take a ride and see what they let me do. On the way I’ll stop to visit my chiropractor.

Supposed to take delivery on an assortment of cast pellets from another member this morning via usps.
I'll fire up the propane wall unit in the shop just to knock the morning chill off then I'll try some of them out.

Well the coldest spot in the Hemet-San Jacinto valley is 31°F about 5 miles away, 40°F on my back deck. We are suppose to get to 65°F today, and our 10 day forecast was updated for even warmer temps next week, 70°'s. Sunny and 76°F on Christmas day  I will go on a motorcycle ride in the afternoon IF I can. Our "family plans" with nearby relatives are all on Christmas Eve so I think that frees up my wife's and my Christmas afternoon. We will have Ch**ch in the morning.

My plan for today is to get back to my first outside work list I made yesterday, but I do have to go back to the tire shop to get two tires mounted that I had to order yesterday. They will call when they get the tires between 10:00 AM.  and 3:30 PM. so, I should be able to get some more done first, it maybe dark by the time I get back home though?

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I slept in until 0600 CST. I’m having my second cup o’ Joe right now, contemplating what I might do today. I definitely need to shoot an airgun at some point today. I also want to load some more scrap metal on the trailer over the weekend. I think after this coffee I’ll hop in the shower and then pull the car out of the garage and set up for shooting. I want to shoot the Walter Terrus .177 and the RWS 3400 .177 today. When my wife gets up, I’m sure she’s got something for me to do as well.

Well I am 58 today and I feel every minute. The wife gave me a nice little pocket knife. Not one I would have bought, but it will get used none the less.

I’ve been sick since October, feeling better but my sinus is still plugged, can’t hear a darn thing. My doc won’t give me antibiotics, says they won’t work after a while. Not sure how that can be if he never gives them to me.

Going to the bank for some cash and then I will dare a trip to Bass Pro. I keep hearing that they have small pistol primers. I will invest if they do.
Football at noon, those stupid purple pigs better not try to ruin my birthday. I’ll hit the off switch if it starts to look bad.

I am off now for the rest of 22. There will be a lot of shooting in the “Parlor.”
Will post up some 10m casual today. Maybe jumper, pistol and pcp. We will see.

I will clean up the shop in prep for the teardown of the Daisy 753.
A good German barrel paired with such a bad trigger is a crime. I have accumulated a bunch of parts for this project.....do-over parts if needed, HA!

The goal is to make a nice 10m shooter so my HW30 can move on to do other stuff. It’s the one that can do it all! Almost.

Most important will be a nap, oh yea, I am really good at those.

Of course there will be trips to the kitchen as Christmas baking will be in full swing. I hear the oven door open, then I make my move!

Change of plans, sort of… my wife has been volunteering at the city pound. I’ve told her that when I’m ready for another dog, I only want one dog. So, it can go with us wherever we go. I also want to name it “Chillie”… for Chopper and Millie- our 2 dogs we lost in May. Well, she found a dog that fits the bill for me perfectly. We’re going to visit her before I get to shooting airguns. She goes to the vet on Monday and we can foster her until my wife is sure. My mind is already made up, I want to take her home. Just look at those ears!

Well my plans are about the same as the last two Including getting the two tires that didn't show up yesterday because the delivery truck broke down.

The tires are for a utility trailer I picked up that I am going to make into a motorcycle trailer I think, that is the tentative plan anyway. It is about a foot too short for my longest cruiser but I think I can lengthen it by moving the front a foot or so forward onto the tongue. That portion will be narrower but should work fine. Or I may sell it and buy a motorcycle trailer? Either way it needed new tires. 

On a note a while back before we put up a gate someone "dropped off" some tires and the owner said I could drop them off at his shop today for $2 each when I pick up the new ones. I have 23 loaded in the bed of the GMC and there are 6 more I don't have room for, it will be nice having them gone and we won't breed mosquitos this rainy season.

No rain for at least the next 10 days here. Todays high is suppose to be 62°F. The 10 day shows that they lowered all the temps by 2°, so now it says Christmas day will be 74°F here.

Wind chill got down to 9f last night 20f low . Expecting a high of 46f. Tomorrow is going to be a shooting day as it's only suppose to be 5-7 mph wind.🎉🍻

I just found out my grandson that moved to Idaho left the stock exhaust system off his Dodge Cummins pickup in a shed here. He just sold it for $500 to a guy that lives in Anaheim who is suppose to pick it up at 11ish. I have to be here to collect the $500 for him and allow the guy access.
