I've always been pretty good at determining direction and finding my way in and out of the woods. We were in Florida a week or so ago and I guess my gps had a hangover or something. She lost her way several times and had us well off track. I shut it off and within 20 minutes or so we were back on familiar roads.
I also have an app called HuntStand. You can bread crumb your trail. It also lists property boundries and who owns them. I pay a $20 per year subscription and it's on my phone, tablet and laptop.  I Googled this morning just to get some loose directional plan.

I've got on x hunt on my phone and it's $15 a month. Does huntstand cover AZ or is it just for the states east of the Mississippi?

I got a trial period here might be an area you are familiar with?

Well the visit to urgent care confirmed sinus infection. Got some meds to ease through until it runs its course. The Dr and I agreed antibiotics would do nothing but give me diarrhea.

Took the day off.  Dropped off a cylinder head, got the feral cat we trapped spayed, ran some errands, and shortly we're heading out for dinner with the in-laws.

Went looking at suits because I have three weddings coming up that I will be officiating and decided the suit I have will do just fine. Not only were the prices more than I would pay, but I also didn’t find any that I liked either! I rarely wear a suit or even a sports jacket, I am a nice but casual dresser. My wife still wants a new dress though, so she will get that.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I got up at 0330 CST. We got quite a dusting of snow last night, it’s 30* right now. It’s only supposed to get to 42* today. I have some work in the garage I want to do today and the girls have some work to do in the house. I have my Barn Meeting tonight and a buddy that’s going with me is leaving his little dog with the girls. Our house isn’t dog proof anymore, Ayrabella has a lot of little stuff she needs to put up that he might think is a toy or for eating. I’m sure they’ll have fun.

We had a great time riding yesterday. We covered many miles of dirt roads and found some awesome places to hang put down by the river. You could tell that many ATVs hang out there because of the ruts and trails through the woods along the river... oh, and the trash they left behind. That really annoys me.
We had to run up to 1/4 mile along the edge of hard roads to get there and we weren't comfortable with that. We're going to scope out an unload spot closer where we don't have to get on the hard roads.
We got home around 4pm and built a fire in the pit where we finished off the jar of "happy pie".
Today I'll begin by cleaning up the ATVs and putting the trailer back in the barn.

Bill, I never understood people who claim to love the outdoors but trash it and litter.  Awesome that you cleaned behind others- and I know you're the type who does that (Sonja and I do the same).


In fact- we're going on a canoe paddle today and we'll bring some bags to pick up trash.  I always find shoes, sunglasses, and ball-caps.

Otherwise, I should be getting a package we've been wanting for a spell.  Sonja is getting a new 6-quart drop-bowl KitchenAid in Blue Ink (velvety matter dark blue).  The mixer she's been using for decades belonged to her grand mother, and we've outgrown a 3-quart tilt-head.  I considered getting her an EdGun Matador, but in the end, she mentioned something about a new range and mixer for the quonset.  I found an outrageously good deal on both- and am coming out STILL under the cost of an R5.  Best news?  The range is a ZLine

I’m off to the Sopchoppy Mullet Festival!  No it is not a celebration of bad red neck hair cuts.
It’s an annual event in a little coastal fishing community that celebrates the historic fishing industry here.
I’ll be set up for the first outing of our John Deere farm wagon.  I’m doing an interpretive program about the “Sein Yard” fish camps where the community would gather each fall for the seasonal Mullet migration.  If you are in the neighborhood come on out and join us.  Gonna be some good food and live music!

Peter... there was just so much that there was no way we could have picked it all up. Someone left a trash can nailed to a tree so we picked up around it until it was full. There were room size carpets and all sorts of stuff. Almost looked like a dumping ground.
We could see where folks got stuck and just left whatever they used to get unstuck.
On the bright side. Most rivers in lower Alabama are red muddy looking and you can't see the bottom. This one was almost crystal and you could see the bottom as deep as 4' or so.... even with the recent rain in the area.

Well, Nick stopped by this morning to invite Betty Lou and I to come watch the UFC fights tonite.
Nick is Killer's nephew that bought the property from Killer that we now rent.
There is a building behind the house that Killer used as his 'playroom' back in the day. There is a hot tub, a tanning bed and alot of just random junk that got shoved in there over the years. It's a solid build and does not leak. But, it's been closed up for year with water standing in that covered hot tub. It's quite musty and smelly..... and the snakes have taken it over. Good news is that the snakes have kept rodents and other critters out.
It's a pole barn design with 7' between poles and rafters.
It has one mandoor and two sash windows in it. My plan is to cut a roll up door in one side where a window is. It will be a 7' wide opening between 2 poles and not affect the integrity of the building at all.
Nick approved the plan and even offered to help. I declined the help because he works the pipeline and has 2 young babies at home. I am retired and have 7 days a week to do it at my own pace.
He asked what I planned to do with the hot tub and all that other stuff inside. I told him that if he didn't want it that I would haul it to the dump. So to the dump it all goes. It does have a gravel floor.
Now I have my new major project. It already has electric, water and wall mounted propane heaters. It just needs connected. This will become my new workshop for ATVs, mowers and other stuff.

Do a 30 mile round trip into Ash Fork to get gas for my xr500r and pick up the mail. Going in I had to take it easy as I was at less than the level to need to turn on the reserve. It turns out that I was on fumes by the time I got to the gas station. It's a 3.2 gallon tank and it took 3126 gallons. That's what I call cutting it close.🫣
