We got about 5 or 6 inches of heavy wet snow last night.
That snow is on top of a layer of ice that came yesterday.
It is currently 27 F at my place.
I'm going to eat breakfast then go out and blow snow.
After that I'll be doing some shoveling for a final clean up.
I'm sure glad that I went up on the roof, last week, and removed the snow that was up there.
I got a feeling that I'll be getting a lot more snow before March is over.
When I get done with the snow, I may go out and do a little shooting with one of my air rifles.

Thanks for grabbing all that ice and snow, we just got a 1/4" of the ice and an inch of the snow, not too bad for a March storm!

The fence project is done !!

Moving on... I got the RV started and pulled it up by the house so we can connect to to water and electric.
We're going to clean it out and put it for sale. We've decided we have everything we need right here on our little 8 acre hunk of Heaven without dropping $200+ each time we take it out just to enjoy what we already have at home.
Selling the RV will give us the money to pay off the 420 Rancher. The Titan will be paid off just about the same time I'm ready to retire. That will knock about $500 a month off our backs. Beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The back wakout patio was around 4-5 inches of snow.(over ice of course)
The driveway was 5-6 inches up close to the garage and more like 7-8 inches of wind drifted snow about half way out to the road.
As of today...my backyard runs 17-20 inches deep over all... to around waist deep in some of the heavy wind drifted spots.

Soooo....after I got done with the snow clean up.......
I got out 3 of my rifles and shot down some of the ice-cycles that were hanging from the backyard tree branches.

I grabbed the snowshoes this morning to hand a 100y target and it took me a good 30 minutes to get through the snow, seems we have a good 3-4' in most places right now where the wind blew.

If I wanted to hang some type of target out in the woods behind my house..I'd have to use my snowshoes to get around too !
There is a whole lot of Winter left for us in March ..I think.

The tree line is 40 yards from my garage back door.
There is a big Red Oak out there that is 50 yards out. A lot of times I'll pin up a target on that tree.
I have a shooting lane brushed out to 70 yards and I put targets on a deadfall back there.
I could shoot 100 yards but I would have to clear more undergrowth and that is something that I just haven't got around to doing yet.

We are pretty open here, the forest is across the road, we are on old AG land so no woods to speak of. We have woods on the East and West but they are just a wind break. We have a lot of Aspen (trash trees) and my furthest is exactly 310' from my shooing bench so that is where I ventured out today.

I attached a couple pictures, the first is the view from my bench, the second is a zoom showing a white 18" painted white saw blade on the furthest tree. The dark spot top/center are the pellet/slug hits from today.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday, back to the grind! Up at 0400 CT. I’m finishing up my coffee and getting ready to head out. Today I’ve got a heat exchanger to replace in a rooftop package unit in Ft. Smith, I’ve got a helper that’s going to meet me there. When we’re done we’re heading to Little Rock for a big meeting to kick off the year’s new busy season. We will have dinner, spend the night and the big meeting will be in the morning on Tuesday. After the meeting I’ll work my way back home.

I had to go into the plant last evening at 6pm to receive an urgent air freight delivery from Korea. Now the lines can run this morning. I was there about an hour.

I was up from 4:00 AM yesterday to until 12:34 AM this morning and back up at 5:24, not bad. I even got to dream sleep once, which is really really rare for me. I feel rested. 

My computer was updating when I got up and noticeably slowed because of it. It's back to normal now.

It will likely get up to 66-67°F today, a little warmer than the past few days. It was 30° when I first got up.

Because my Judy doesn't enjoy eating squirrels, I am planning a lunch with my son.  He said he would drop over later.  [We will have Eastern Fox Squirrel taken during the season.]
Other than that, I will watch it rain!

I went out this morning and picked up two days of Hanks "piles" and really need to rake up the pine needles AGAIN. The winds last week caused the tree to shed a bunch. I am not sure what type of pine this tree is but it is old, large, and sheds a lot, mostly from the center.

Mornin y'all.  Already drove my first tour this morning.  Pre-schoolers!  Man that was a zoo.  I love it though.  Give me boat loads of kids all day long!  lots of critters out so it was an interesting trip.  Hope y'all are having as good a day as me!

Good day fellow airgunners. Up at 4:00 am, after my quiet time and breakfast I was looking through my collection of scopes and I found one to try, a Mantis 3-9x40ao. I mounted it on my Hatsan Mod 95 .22 cal SAS. Moved target to 15 yards, fired 5 pellets, gradually moving reticle to POA. Moved to 25 yards and finished sight it in. I then shot spinners at 30, 35, and 40 yards. I had a tin can hanging from a limb at 45 yds and I has a ball filling it full of holes. At 8:00 I loaded my Z-turn mower and carried it in to have the charging system repaired. Then up to the accountant to drop off tax stuff for her to prepare our return to IRS.

Pretty bird Dan. You see those often in your area? I know all about those land mines and accidentally stepping or driving over one with the mower and wreaking for the rest of the time mowing. Is one of the things I don't miss about having huge dogs anymore.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0512 CT, yep I slept in.
Today I'm going for my yearly doctor's appointment. I had gained weight during the months of sheltering-in-place caused by the Covid scare. Since January I've been watching my calorie intake and I've lost 15 lbs. Hopefully the doctor will be pleased, cuz last year he was not pleased with my weight gain.  I hope everyone has a pleasant day today.

There is only one month when I have to be careful of my eating habits - March!  Warm months are for bicycle riding about every other day - 15 to 20 miles.  October through February are for hunting and/or cold weather outdoor activities.  The cold makes it easier to keep the weight down because my body is burning more calories to stay warm.  I have a real problem with rainy/snowy days.

Mornin y’all.  Off today so more gardening. I got out my XS60C because the temps are so warm.  I’ll have it handy in the yard with me.  I’ve got a pretty strenuous job and I naturally prefer walking so I get plenty of exercise at work.  My weight has been stable for twenty years now.  Doesn’t mean my cholesterol is good or that my arteries ain’t hardening though.
