I kill snakes and check species later.Whatever benefit snakes offer on my property is neither needed or wanted. They would do themselves a great service to read and adhere to the 'no trespassing' signs around the perimeter.
I unknowingly killed a small 8" snake yesterday while weedeating. Felt sad I didn't see the little critter as it only eats bugs and is non venomous. A .410 will do wonders with snakes indeed and so will a 20ga with #8shot as I found out last year shooting a cottonmouth's head clean off at 10yds after aiming at the neck. No movement or reaction afterward by head or body, just instant death.
Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! Up at 0200 CT. Never felt this before, but I woke up feeling claustrophobic in my CPAP. Oh well, maybe I’ll take an early nap later. I’m on my 5th or 6th cup o’ Joe. My wife is supposed to get up & get groceries soon, so she said last night. I’m going to dump my van on the ground and reload for next week. Hoping that doesn’t take too long, because Ayrabella & I are going to shoot airguns.

Consult your doctor and bring your mask with, you may have a hardware issue unknown to you.

Our outside thermometer said we topped over 90 by noon today. It was really nice in the shade with a cool breeze. I got out and at it at 7:00am and blazed the fence line and ran 275 feet of hog wire fence before I finally tapped out.We took down 150 feet of temp snow fence we put up last year and replaced that with the hog wire to tie it in with the new back half. The rest we put along the back of the property. We had to clear the fallen branches and brush and we used the existing barbed wire fence and posts to attach the hog wire to. A couple more hundred to run tomorrow and the perimeter is 100%.The next project will be cutting down about 2 acres of trees and under growth. All junk stuff 8" or less. I'll cut them at near ground level and burn the stumps out in a couple years.Everything will be cut to 36" for the outdoor fire pit.
We got about 5 or 6 inches of heavy wet snow last night. That snow is on top of a layer of ice that came yesterday. It is currently 27 F at my place. I'm going to eat breakfast then go out and blow snow. After that I'll be doing some shoveling for a final clean up.I'm sure glad that I went up on the roof, last week, and removed the snow that was up there.I got a feeling that I'll be getting a lot more snow before March is over. When I get done with the snow, I may go out and do a little shooting with one of my air rifles.Best Wishes - Tom
