Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! Up at 0500 CT. I’d say I’ve gotten over DST fairly quick on my vacation, just a couple days wanting to get up at 0300 and not having to. It’s raining this morning, but should quit after sunrise. I’ve got to get Ayrabella on the bus, then get myself ready for the day. I have to take my wife into town for some groceries and a couple errands. Then, I have to take the big dog, Chopper, to the vet for his checkup around lunchtime. I’m hoping to shoot a little later on. The past 2 days my wife shot with me and we’ve had a lot of fun. I found I’m having POI issues with the FWB Sport. Groups are amazing, just not where I left them last or where I am adjusting to. I need to figure out if it’s me or the scope.

Man. I just love it when they take a scheduled Saturday off the schedule at the last minute. That combined with a sunny, dry and cool weekend weather report just gives me the warm and fuzzies.

Up early, didn't look at the clock, I was wide awake so there was no point in it.

I am going to help the wife rearrange the house furniture today, get rid of some things and make room for some inherited things too. I need the one from "Hoarders" to help me decide what goes . Not really I have very few things I "treasure" my answers will come from my need/use of things not their potential value.

Haul my last load of water for a total of 500 gallons then go out and continue weed whacking my fenced property. Got about 2 acres done so far. Only 3 more to go.

This is the most exciting event in town each year except for the annual worm grunting festival!  I’ll be there demonstrating various primitive hunting, fishing, and cooking techniques.  I will boil water in a hollow log,  explain how to catch fish using a possum, show how Indians got turtles to jump into baskets, and teach anyone who wants to learn how to make fishing line out of palm frond fiber.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0600 CT and 33*F outside. Needless to say, it’s slow moving for all of us. I’m not ready for freezing temperatures. So, my wife is wanting to start decorating for Christmas, and I’m obliging her. We got a new fake tree because I can only imagine what prices for a real tree could be this year. I’m going to get up in the attic and get some stuff down. Hopefully, we’ll shoot some airguns about the time it breaks 50*F outside, maybe 1400 hrs. I’ll fit a nap in sometime after lunch, this evening I have our monthly Barn Meeting.

We went to a fellowship meeting last night with 8 Ch**ches, that was about an hour and fifteen minutes away. We got to see and visit with some people I have not seen for a long time. That had a great food spread that included Potato Tacos, I liked them a lot. I would have never thought about making Tacos without meat . We didn't get home until a little after 1:00 AM, I got up at 6:00 AM.

It is 73 degrees at 9:21 AM and suppose to get to 90 today, so I guess we will run the Evaporative Cooler a bit today. I am going pick up leaves today with the Lawn tractor. The last time I tried it, it didn't work the leaves were wet/damp and kept plugging the chute, at least I think that was the problem. The leaves are semi-dried up currently so I think it should work well as long as the blades lift is sufficient.

I have to say Gil, since you brought up Ayrabella’s time in the hospital, she’s been doing great ever since. She’s eating good and she’s growing just fine. I can’t say enough for what Arkansas Children’s Hospital did for my Baby Girl. Next month she’ll be 9, the day after Christmas. 

She's a cutie. I'm sure dad takes all the credit for that.

Looks like your wife is recovering fast indeed. God is good. I spy a cub cadet in the background? I have one too. Been a great mower for me 13yrs and counting.

Thanks Gil. God is good, and I’m grateful. Ayrabella took after me alot, but the older she gets she looks so much like my mom. I’m grateful for that too, especially her smile.  

That’s a Hustler FasTrak 54” in the background, I’ve had it 2 years and it replaced my Big Dog that I had before that. When we first bought this place I had a 38” MTD lawn tractor. What takes me 2 hours to cut used to take me 2 days. I’ve got to say I’m grateful for that too!

G'day all, Today I finished replacing the front axle trailer electric brake assemblies wheel bearings and new brake drums so now I have all brand new running gear and tires on all four wheels of the travel trailer. After completing that, I had to rush to clean up and put away everything before the storm front came through about 3 PM eastern there were tornado warnings and we had some hail along with a nasty thunderstorm. In spite of that, a productive day for me with the knowledge of a job well done and working trailer brakes on the 30 ft travel trailer so now I don't have to worry about the tail wagging the dog so to speak. 

PS; the temperature dropped about 24*f right after the storm passed

I use mine pretty much daily, not just for mowing but for traveling the property back n forth and hitching the trailer to it to haul supplies, pick up limbs ect. I put atv tires on the back wheels for added grip on declines and it really helped. No more drifting around during fast turns anymore either.

Good morning GTA! It’s Sunday and everyone and every dog was looking comfortable when I woke at 0’dark early. Went back to sleep until 0715 CT. That gumbo at the Barn Meeting last night helped me sleep in, too, I think. Everyone’s up now, getting ready for Ch**ch and today we have a pot-luck immediately after. Today’s my last day of vacation and I have some stuff to shuffle back up to the attic later. Once that’s done I sure do hope to shoot some airguns before it gets dark on me.

Mornin y’all.  I promised Flash and Flytrap that we would go hunting this morning.  Well, the dew is off the grass and we ain’t got there yet.  Flash is grumbling  at my feet and now Flytrap is sitting by the gun rack giving me the stink eye.  Guess I have to get going!

The original plan was to install 2 check valves on the freshwater supply and water pump to prevent backflow to either circuit since they share common plumbing. That plan changed when my stepson and I were putting an old chest of draws to the curb. I tripped over an unseen brick and ended up grabbing a dried-up rose bush and consequently shredding my right index, middle finger, and the web between thumb and index finger so now my right hand looks like I tried to give a bath to an angry bobcat one-handed.

Spent yesterday shooting, hanging with the dogs and buzzing around the hood on the ATVs.
Shot 2 of my favorite pcp guns, the Fortitude and Air Speed. Both gave big smiles at 45yds.
I got red bricks buried flush in the yard marking 25, 50, 75yds. and my backstop out at 100 so I know right where I set targets.
I was shooting ChiCom reset flippers, Shoot n See targets and beer cans.
I was filling the Fortitude with my 30min scba when the oring in the QD let go at 2500 psi. It whipped and slapped the back of my left hand taking a layer or 2 of skin and leaving a nice 2 inch welt. Could have been much worse but I had my right hand on the valve control and instinctively turned it off right away. Dang that hurt.
At a rare moment, Rambo was hanging out with me while I was shooting. He usually goes inside when I shoot. However, when that hose let go he jumped up and got gone.
