Special day for me too.... IT's PAYDAY !!! lol
Direct deposit hits the bank sometime Wednesday night - Thursday morning every other week. 75% of this one goes to the monthly bills. That covers all the bills, property payment, truck and insurance. Cell phone and Netflix comes out automatically. Next check goes right to the bank and every 3 months (?) I get 3 checks a month. That one also goes to the bank. Probably why a choke a bit when I think about retirement.
No special plans today.... just go to work and keep them checks comin'.

The plan was to head into work this morning but I got the bug in me to stay home and I just couldn’t shake it this morning so I played hooky. Slept in late, made apple cinnamon pancake with vanilla infused maple syrup for breakfast. Lazed around some and went on a drive with my people. Came home and we all had separate ways to go this afternoon.

I ended up going to the store with a couple boys. Came home, got brownies in the oven, made lunch, cleaned up, put clean sheets on the bed and shot a couple air rifles. Now it’s chill time.

Two days of work left and taking this Saturday off to have a 3 day weekend! Not bad. 4 days off, work 2 days and have 3 days off. Almost like vacation!

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0525 CDST. Schools are letting out early today due to the chance of severe weather. It's 70° now and today's high is 80°, it's not raining now but it's super humid. The strong storms start around noon. My garage floor is wet from the humidity, the car and truck windows look as if they had been left outside.

The storms bowed up and boomed all night. Rambo went to the floor beside my side of the bed and hunkered down. He jumped on the bed at 4:15 and slapped me until I got up like he wanted out. So I got up and that butthead laid down and went to sleep....

So, I got on the laptop and paid the monthly bills.... my bank account is now $1200 lighter. Another $500 to my property owner and I'm good to go. Tracking shows the Betty Lou's atv tires delivery was upgraded a week early and will be here today. Next is to get them mounted and all the tires on the atvs they were purchased for. Both atvs will have a new set of bigger and more aggressive tires on them. Planning a 3 day mud run on Easter weekend. Looks like we're getting plenty of rain to provide ample mud. Juicy and loosy.
Told Betty Lou to start getting the "Mud Yacht" (RV) stocked and ready. She has a small white board checklist that she works from. Topped off the fuel tank last time out. On average we use about 1/4 of the 55 gal. tank per trip to the local atv parks. All 4 we go to are within an hour and a half away.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0530 CDST. Worked a 12.5 hour day yesterday, but with no work Tuesday and the 11.5 hours Monday it’s like I worked 3- 8 hour days. This time of year is just weird, I’m ready to get in the groove & work, then they pull the rug out. It should pick up any day now. The opposite is true come fall-winter, after summer (we’ll get there, it’s coming), I can’t wait til they pull the rug out. I have a job this morning and it’s inside, another cooler/freezer call. It’s supposed to rain til about 1500 hrs.

Record rain yesterday but still under 2" total, ditches are full and humidity was way up but it all froze overnight. Winds had dried most of it up but car doors were stuck pretty good.

Getting some sun today, should get to 50F today.

Coffee then start work.

Dan... Sounds about right.... she's a heavy beast and we pull the 16' trailer with 2 atvs on board. She's got a crate Triton V10 with around 12000 miles in it. I'm actually quite impressed with it.

She's an oldie but a goodie.
We take her out about once a month. The rest of the time she sits, hooked up at the house and is a great spot for a bit of alone time. I tore the dinette out and put in a recliner. She has stove, oven, microwave, fridge, bathroom with shower, propane for cooking and hot water inside and out, electric heat and a/c and 2 32" flatscreens.. 1 in the living area and 1 on the bedroom, both with DVD.
There is an ONAN generator that I've never even used... we don't boondock. I'm sure that needs service before it could be used.
It wasn't bought for road trips. It serves our purpose perfectly.
She gets beat and banged and has been pulled out of the mud more than once....

That’s a great piece of equipment you have there Bill!

If it was just Michele and me, I think we would like to have something for heading out on adventures in.

We have been thinking that direction for the future (after retirement) but we want to see where the kids end up and where we will end up. My hope is to relocate to a warmer climate after retirement (not Arizona 😱😎) but that depends on a lot of things that will have to be determined later. I am hoping for something like one of those Sprinter vans converted to travel in with a small utility trailer to carry gear in. I really don’t know. I have a few years to go still (8 minimum, more like 13 based off kids ages) to think about it and figure things out. Ha ha!

I hear ya Brett... I would have went for something much nicer if that was the plan for us. We do have plans for it for retirement but that will be more like park it and live in it... it's just Betty Lou, Rambo and me. It's final resting ground will be at some out of the way atv park where we can both work (under the table) for the park. Outdoor living, fishing, hunting and playing in the mud for the rest of our days.
I paid a mere $3500 for this thing and put another $2k or so in it. Like I said... perfect for our intended use.

I want to check out the muzzle velocity and accuracy of some of my old Chinese side lever air rifles. A .117 Tech Force B4-1 and two Fast Deers (KL-B3). A .177 and a .22. And a .177 TS45. And square a couple of the scopes. Also check out some new pellets. Creedmoores and Eleys.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0500 CDST. It's 66° now and the high today is 75° under sunny skies and ENE winds at 4 mph.

Yesterday was scary but we, by God's grace and mercy, were spared from any damage from the severe weather. I know many across the country were not so fortunate. Our heart goes out to those who lost property or loved ones.

Maybe I will get a chance to shoot a little today right now I'm not sure. It certainly will be a good day for it.

Good to hear you are ok Dan. Mother Nature can be cruel at times.

More same work from home today. Next month I get to go into the office twice a week. That will be good for a change.

33 this morning after a night of rain. 50’s today I think. May get some outdoor shooting this weekend, depending on the neighbors.
