Good Morning GTA!!! Up at 0400 CST, both dogs wanted out. Had 2 cups of coffee, the winter holidays are essentially over. This should be a full week’s work and the girls go back to school. Think I’ll have another cup o’ joe before I head out. Going to Ft. Smith today for a look at another freezer making noise.

Good Morning GTA!!! I slept till 0420 CST,  Had toast, ham and  2 cups of coffee. I agree the winter holidays are essentially over for all those who are in the workforce.  But for me, the retired, it should be a full week of fun and work around the place.  Think I’ll have probably need another cup o’ joe before I take the trash to the road. Going to be a good day I hope but 65° but windy.. Maybe, just maybe I'll get to shoot some.

I got a 1987 Suzuki LT300E Quad yesterday for FREE. Weird deal for sure.

Enroute to Kohls to return the Amazon bought rangefinder (wrong model) there were several people taking things from a pile in the driveway of a house I've driven by many times. It looked like a freebie / clean out the garage deal or tail end of a garage sale. I turned around immediately, love the freebies.

Speaking with the women doing the clean out I learned that her husband died, sad. I asked if the quad and Stihl chainsaw, sitting inside the garage, were for sale and she said the saw was promised to a tree service company then paused and said "you can have the quad for free". My heart stopped and God only knows what my facial expression was.

She couldn't find the title and the rear tire was half inflated so it was a burden to her. Called my contractor buddy and he showed up 30 minutes later with a trailer. We loaded it up and today I will get a battery and see what I got.

I've wanted a quad for a looooooong time and it all started about ten years ago when we a street party in the snow, firepit, snowball fights, and hookybobbing behind my neighbor's quad.

Congratulations for sure. Good luck with it. I'm pretty sure you can find an aftermarket carb for cheap on ebay. I have a 1993 Yamaha 350c. Moto 4. I ride it just about every day.

I looked up the LT300E. The are after markets parts available.

I've had good luck getting parts from these folks....

... and if they don't have the parts in stock, at least you can get the part numbers.

You guys are definitely The Morning Crew, thanks for being awake at my ridiculous hours ratting hours!

It was well-cared for, no fuel in the tank (phew!), clean and not beat up. It could just start, we will see.

DUMB QUESTION TIME:
It's push button start but no battery so think I can just start it with the pull start?

I bypassed the ignition switch, disconnected the harness, sprayed starter fluid into the carb and it fires and runs for a few seconds. I am guessing I need to fuel prime it somehow. I saw on utube a guy putting a little bit of air pressure into the fuel tank, not sure.

He had drained all of the oil out of it as well. I added Phillips 66 10w-40 for now.

I am on the west coast but don't let it stop me from looking or posting some of the time. I wonder how many time zones are represented in this thread. The time I check in each day varies quite a bit because I don't have a set sleep schedule, especial while sick.

Ate, read, coffee time now.  It's gray, wet, 44 and calm.  Need to go grocery shopping so we will probably get that done today.  Three different stores to run to. 

Tuesdays are my Mondays so today is the last day of my weekend.  I enjoyed some extra days off during the holidays but now it's the start of that slog through these next 2.5 months until spring.  I absolutely hate this stretch of time on the calendar. 

I'm hoping to have a chance to shoot.  It will have to be from underneath the carport if I do. 

I'm enjoying my new flex shaft tool.  I may have to break some wood down on the bandsaw to make pieces to cut and carve more wooden kitchen utensils from.  I'm done playing now and I'll start to work on a set of tools with the same design and wood.

I guess I didn't post this because after we did the shopping, lunch, cleanup, made lattes NOW I sit down to surf for a few before heading out to the shop, I see this ^^^^^^^^unfinished post still on the screen.  Ha ha ha!

So you guessed it, sipping coffee (again) and getting warmed up with a heating pad on my lap and chilling...

Today ... finish setting up our NEW smart phones.  Wife & I too this time have been rejecting Cel phone tech and not wanted a pocket toy smart phone.
Well with Texting, GPS and Browser requirements getting more all the time .... BIG SIGH, made the choice to no longer buck the evolution of pocket phones giving up our beloved Flip Phones.

Had been with Verizon over 30 years ( Actually AIRTOUCH prior )  2 Flips were costing us @ $65 a month and NO DEAL was there to upgrade w/o a major cost increase.

T-Mobile has a Senior over 55 plan that prompted the change.  2 FREE Samsung Android A71 5G phones, Unlimited data and text ... $70 total per month on a 2 year contract with no extra fee or charges !!

GOOD BYE Verizon !!!

That's strange. I've only been with them around a year and I have two Moto G6 Play phones that were new last year and the monthly cost is only $60 but that's not unlimited data it's their next best plan under that including their loyalty discount which I'm guessing you had too. Their coverage has been better for me than what Tmobile was but I'm out in the country though where I still have temp data outages with Verizon in some places.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CST. The big dog left me a surprise on the floor on the way to make coffee. Just a big pile of dog food, like he inhaled it and threw it up, easy cleanup. But my morning’s half gone because I have a meeting at 0600, leave for work at 0700 and a ZOOM meeting at 0800. So after this cup, I’ve got 15 minutes to get ready and down the road I go.

Slept till 6 am EST, shocker I know since me being an early riser. No floor surprises for a minute. The usual medical checks to see if I am going to blow apart during the day. Plans for the day, finish cleaning up the flooded mess, change batteries in game cameras, set box traps for the pests that are trying to eat the chickens, shoot the 909 to test heavier slugs, go feed the deer at the stand, pick up the long lost mail that I ordered a month ago. Just another exciting day on the frontier.

USPS tracking said my 22 barrel for my HW95 arrived at the local post office! Tracking went dark on the 21st. Never had anything but 177, so this will be interesting.
