Gonna top off the Max Air and do some shooting.
Then I have a set of poly control arm bushings for the Opel GT I need to measure.
I plan to make a set with Delrin F.

I married well.
My wife called #2 son. He came over with the little wheeler and plow. Got it scraped down to where it will start melting.

Now I await further orders. Two of the three boys are coming over with families late afternoon for steak and venison, our normal New Years gig. Three fondu pots going and a couple steak stones.

The steak stone is pretty cool. Big flat square piece of granite heated in the oven at 550. Then put it on the tray it came with and to the table. Throw the steaks on, sear them for a minute or two and start cutting. I slice mine up and eat the pieces as they get to medium rare or so.

New target came in mail. Bird feeders filled. Got over a foot of snow in spots. Playing ham radio all day today.

Working.... I'm manning phones with my team lead and the rest of the company cut out at 12.  Work has been slack as heck this week for everybody except us in Support.

Phones have been ringing non-stop all month, and today is no exception.  I'm still finding time to prep the beef ribs, some chicken wings, and a pork shoulder.  Sonja is mixing up some new rub after she wraps up a new batch of banana bread.

We did get an update on her leg after the doctor reviewed her newest x-rays.  Looking at another month before she can go back to work, meaning at least 6 weeks before she can start skating on her longboard again.

After I get off, we'll probably top off the EdGuns and punch some holes in targets... Or we may just move a couple more tons of crush-n-run.

Well, it's here the NEW YEAR that is. I'm up, been up about an hour.
Plans today, ...
I will eat some black eyed peas, boiled cabbage and a couple of fried porkchops.

Maybe get around to sighting in the scope on the HW50.

I pray this year will turn out better than I am expecting it to.

I shot 60 yards yesterday and LOVED what the gun showed me, gonna do it again but further out too.

Good morning GTA! Happy New Year! For some reason at one moment I told my wife I thought we were saying goodbye to 2013, it just slipped out.  She said she couldn’t believe it was 2021, our oldest daughter was born in 1993. Oh well, where does the time go?

Scrambled eggs over buttermilk biscuits covered with a slice of cheddar and smothered in 'mater' gravy will be our New Year breakfast. Then pork ribs in kraut for dinner.
Tomorrow I plan to load the Rancher 420 up on the small trailer and Titan pickup and go recon a new ATV park about 1 1/2 hours down the road. Betty Lou will stay home.
Today I will be testing out the new 3D printed single shot tray for the DAR .25.

Was headed out for a 1 1/4 hour drive to see the elderly parents (like usual on Fridays) but we are about to have 3-4 hours of mixed ice/rain during my usual travel time. Rescheduled for Sat. AM. No point in going out in that if you do not have to,... though I have driven in much worse when working in the past.

The (true) softer compound ice/snow tires are really worth it,... even if they only come in handy 1 time in the winter. You do have to swap them out in the summer though because they are softer.

HAHA.... Betty Lou got up sometime in the night and went to the spare bedroom. She said Rambo shoved her out of bed. I got up at 4:30 and Rambo had the whole king bed to himself and enjoyed it for another hour or so. He finally heard Betty Lou in the kitchen getting coffee and came out to make sure he wasn't missing anything.
After finding out it was only coffee, he walked over to the front door and stretched his body, first the back legs then the front. Then he starred at Betty Lou until she opened the door to let him out....... he's such a man dog...

Woke up around 0530, dozed until around 0800.

Straightened up my side of the bed/bed side table (small house/little storage) and made coffee.  Getting things ready for working 32 hour shift starting at 3pm.  Looking at weather and shows some wind coming in.  Hope it doesn’t happen.  This is getting old.....

Off to work at 0730. Long day dealing with tired, over stimulated, needy people.  Weather gray, foggy, and raw.  Just the way I love it. A good day for stomping through the woods.  Finally broke loose about 5, grabbed an ATV and rode the park perimeter til dark.

He's definitely not a bird dog. That Mockingbird made sure of it. Wish you had video of him running back to daddy that day. Funny stuff.

It was mentioned previously  in this thread dreading the new year. Someone made this cartoon picture about it. Funny yet not at the same time.



Today's plans accomplished. Checked thee property for storm damage and thankfully there's no new damage to fix. Put away the Christmas tree, vacuumed the house, changed the hvac filters, used the blower to clean off the patio and garage, then got a good online deal on 20qts of synth oil for the car.

Tips for those who use blowers: If you stand on your door mat it won't fly away and wad up but if you want to dust it out just stand on a corner of the mat and blast underneath it which will flap the dirt out of the mat. Stand on a opposite corner and repeat then it will be clean. Keep a foot on the mat then use the blower to blast underneath it so you can easily slide it back in place by the door with your foot.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0400 CST, time for coffee! Yesterday was cold & wet, today it’s just supposed to be cold, though the mud hasn’t gone anywhere, LOL! The Mrs. didn’t finish her grocery shopping yesterday, she said it was too crazy in town. So, mostly it’ll just be me & Ayrabella again today. I told her we’re shooting today. With a high of just 35*, our plans might could change.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0435 CST myself, definitely time for coffee!

Yesterday was cool and windy, today it’s supposed to be cloudy and cooler with a slight chance of rain after lunch LOL!

The Mrs. and I didn’t finish picking up the litter on our road but we picked up two garbage bags full. It was the first time she had picked up litter using my grabber, the one that I use to pick up brass with when I  shoot my 9mm. I told her it would pick up a dime.  It was funny watching her pick up cig butts and pop-top tabs on the road.  We had a blast.

I told her yesterday if the weather was better today I was going to sight in the scope on the HW50 but my plans could change.

I’ll go scrape the driveway this morning. Had about an inch of snow over night.

FedEx claims they will drop off a 2240XL today. That will be convenient as I have two tins of 22 pellets, but no 22 to shot them out of. It doesn’t come with sights, but I have that along with co2 covered.

That will show up about the time the labor coordinator wants to fool around with projects.

Weather:  Overcast and raining. Sky black as the pit.  Some kayakers who were doing the circumnavigation trail are holed up down at the day use pavilion waiting it out.   I'm stuck in the penalty box until six today or I'd be out there in the rain.  That's why they make synthetic stocked air rifles.
