Although Winter solstice was just a day or so ago and is the shortest day of the year, I am here at work waiting for this last 10 minutes to expire to begin my 11 day Winter shutdown. These seem like the longest 10 minutes of the year...

Plan to make a few delron parts for the Opel GT.
1st is the hood release bushings that are originally nylon.
I figure the delron will last longer.

Slept until just past 8.  I needed it I guess.  Feel better today than I have the past couple days.  Cold and foggy this morning.  Sun is shining brightly at the moment.  Ran a couple places already this morning.  Shot a few pellets with my HWR95.

What is a HWR95 you ask?

It's a HW95 action in a R9 stock.  I combined both into one to make it HW/R9/95 = HWR95

Christopher (13) and I just made some meat and bean burritos for lunch and we have to go pick up his older brother here soon and then off to guitar lessons.  Michele and the others are at grandma's house wishing her a happy birthday and bringing lunch to them. 

I hope to make some more time for lead slinging.  I think I'll text the neighbors later to get the OK to hunt for rats at the coop after dark tonight.  I'll use the Wildcat for that.  Gonna finish these nachos I just made to supplement my burritos and then play a game with Christopher.  Peace ✌️

Late to the posting for today but this morning was ROUGH!
Rewind to last night.... ready for this?
Daughter #4 had a spinal tap scheduled in Indy.. so we watched Grand-daughters #4 and #5... ages 4 and 2.
Daughter #2 is a Medical assistant and accompanied her sister to Indy for the test. SO...We had Grand Daughters #1 and 3... ages 13 and 6.
Daughter #1 thought it would be nice for them to all be together so brought Grand Daughter #2 over to join in the "slumber Party"
Daughter #3 is home from Arizona and came to "help" by barking orders.
 But wait.... Daughter #1 thought I needed "Man time" so also brought Grand sons #1 and 2, ages 6 and 1... AND then asked if I would cut Grandsons #1 hair for the holidays.. Done and then she left taking the 2 boys with her at 9:00pm.
         The rest all stayed.
Oh and the 13 YO Grand Daughter #1 needed to have a BFF spend the night.

All told I went to the family room and slept on the couch... with the dog.... Who is another Female!

This morning the "cell phone alarm" went off...
Some one messed with the coffee pot so it didn't auto start.
 Kids crashed everywhere so I had to be quiet for my morning ritual.
AND somebody left a pack of Hersey kisses on the end table that the Dog found and vomited up tin-foil balls in the family room in the middle of the night.

AHHH the joys of the holidays!!!!
I shoulda just called it quites and went to the camper with Jim.....

Hi All !

I thank every one for all the well wishes.

The wife and I are still dealing with all the after effects of having contracted cover-19.


The wife is still having residual memory and lung problems but she seems to be very slowly improving. She went 15 days in the ICU, with very low oxygen levels reaching her vital areas. She came very close to death three to four  times and started sliding into a diabetic coma once. The doctors pulled her out of the coma just in the nick of time, to save her life.

She gets tired just walking around the house. We bought her an electric mobility scooter to use, when we are out & about. We also got her a walker, with a seat, to use in the house. She likes to use the walker in the kitchen, when she feels up to fixing herself a meal.

My energy levels are way down but I am in much better shape than she is.

The Blizzard ( Winter Storm Harold) has been hitting full force since around 11 am. It is whiteout conditions outside. I can't see more than about 3 or 4 feet past my living room window. The wind is blowing at around 45 or 50 miles an hour with sustained wind gusts over 65 miles an hour. We are forecasted to get around 8 to 12 inches of snow but the snow drifts will be much deeper than that. The Blizzard is supposed to gradually subside after midnight...maybe. I am going out to blow snow around 6 or 7 pm and then blow snow tomorrow morning. We ran all our errands at 8 am this morning and got home about 1/2 hour before the storm hit. I don't know when the snow plows will be out, maybe tomorrow and maybe not....but we are well stocked with what we need right now. The temperature started out today at around +36 F and it is going to fall to around -10 F or -15F as the blizzard progresses.

I am really glad I have a good pair of snowshoes. I can still get into town tomorrow (if I had to) and I can't drive.
It would be a really cold 2 1/2 mile walk each way, but I could do it if necessary.

Really good to read that you two are on the mend Tom. Must have been a really hard time while she was in ICU. I haven’t paid attention to anything but local weather for a few days and didn’t realize you were getting hit with that storm. At least you are prepared.

Sorry to laugh but I got a good chuckle out of that as it sounds like another Christmas Vacation movie in the making! Been there with the dog problems so I can relate because back when I was a kid my toy poodle ate my big Hershey's bar and sprayed Hershey squirts in a circle around the Christmas tree and all over the gifts under it. Merry Christmas! lol It's a wonder the little dog even survived considering all the chocolate he ate because that kills dogs sometimes.

I feel sorry for people without families this time of year until I read stories like that above then I think they actually have it made in a way too considering all the people troubles they miss out on.

Up at 02:15 cst. Was exhausted yesterday so I went to bed early like 20:30.

Rained yesterday and last night. My RWS one piece mount came in for the RWS460.  The previous mount was wanting to creep back on the rail hopefully this RWS 2 stop-pin mount will stop that. (Pun intended).

Covid-19 really screwed this one up for us. Just the two of us this year. Usually 13 or 14 here on Christmas eve.

Your rain found its way down here.  I didn't start yesterday till around lunch and was off and on but last night a big thumder storm, plenty of rain to go with the thunder.

It's 45° now them warmest it will be today with light rain. Temperatures will fall all day and begin clearing  tomorrow wake up to 25° but hopefully mostly sunny.

Yep, it was kinda crazy!
Today will be final prep for everyone to come back with their me and my Mom and Step-dad this evening for our Christmas.

Oh man, the last two days have been get up and await my orders.
Mrs. Christmas is full steam ahead. Right now a roast is going in the oven, later turned into Italian beef sammmmich...

Thanksgiving was a bust due to contaminated children, but everyone is good now and coming over tomorrow.
This is where she earns the title, “The One that must be obeyed.”

Our three sons with grandchildren make for a house full of thankfulness and chaos. Plus everyone is getting airguns this year!

I thank the Lord for every moment.

I was up off and on all night. Kinda like when I was a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Weird because we don't do all that stuff here. No tree, decorations or wrapped gifts. It's just Betty Lou and and all of our families are scattered throughout the country. We send cards a make phone calls.
Yesterday was cold and rainy all day... no outdoor activities. Hopefully that will be different today. I got some guns that want to be shot...

Merry Christmas and good morning GTA!!! I was up about 0430 CST. The girls were told not to wake Mom until 0700-0730 as usual and even so, she must have her tea. It is really cold this morning, 17* with the windchill it’s 11*, yet, tomorrow it’ll be 60*  Christmas here is 2 solid days, being tomorrow is my little shooting partner’s Birthday. Ayrabella will be 8 and she has chosen Chinese Buffet for her Birthday dinner! Today of course, will be a spiral ham, mashed potatoes, my wife’s stuffing with sage & sausage, etc... it’s just the 4 of us so that’ll last several days. So, Merry Christmas, don’t forget why we celebrate and all those who are separate from their family this year as well as our troops who are far from home!

I have been up since 5:00, Dog got up at 5:30... Hoosier Momma slept in 'til 7:00.
 Last night was our Christmas so no plans today other than our ritual Christmas breakfast of Eggs Benedict and "recovery".
