Mornin' guys..
Kinda like groundhog day.... get up, put on coffee, let the dog out, check GTA, shower and go to work.
2 and a half days until a 2 week shutdown at work,,, counting the minutes.

I am off now until the 4th.
The wife has to work today and tomorrow, so I am left without adult supervision.

I will drop off some packages at UPS, then check the locals for pellets. I didn’t shoot at all this weekend, so I make try to make up for that. I also need to wrap presents today.

been up since 6:30 which is not like me unless i'm going hunting.  new windows are being installed today.  we got lucky with the temps as they will be in the 40s.

I’m just sitting here killing the last few minutes before I go to work.  This morning I broke out my nomex and my burn boots.  Gonna get some shade offen the ground!  We are scheduled to burn 78 acres with no burn history and lots of heavy fuel.  Right next to a major highway too!  The KBDI is pretty low and temps are gonna be in the sixties so I don’t think we will get real extreme fire behavior.  It’s gonna be a long day though!  I haven’t put fire on the ground in over a year.

Up at 0500CST. Coffee, definitely a coffee first day. Dogs let out. Watched the sun come up and scanned the woods hoping a nice fat doe would make her presence. She didn’t. Gotta love the December lull. No huge plans today other than helping the kids with school work and keeping an eye out the window for deer or another yote to put the Texan .457 to work. May tinker a bit with some scope swaps on other guns and sight them in. Still waiting on my .458 reamer I rented to show up. Been two months now.

Feed all the animals, noticed the lack of wind while feeding animals. Hopefully it stays that way so i can pull the flash out and get some rounds downrange. Refilled all my bait spots with cracked corn. Still lots of snow on the ground so will have to bring out a table and chair to shoot on. Temp is around 25 degrees so with no wind i can stay bits outside in just a light coat or heavy sweatshirt.

Brandon, you have snow?  that is wild.  we're only about 30 miles south and we have nothing.  it's been in the 40s the last couple days.

We have had it for awhile now, havent been above freezing in over a week haha. Crazy what diffrence a few miles south will do.

Up at 04:15 cst. I was sleeping perfectly when, I guess my wife was checking to see if I was still in bed my wife reached over and put her finger in my ear then over to my eye and finally after gently squeezing my nose rolled back over.

Well you do that to someone and I bet they will wake up.

Woke up at 0230, said nope- went back to sleep. Up at 0454, having coffee. The pressure is now off of me from inventory. My wife finished Christmas prep yesterday and this year she’s making Ayrabella a Unicorn cake for her birthday (Dec. 26th). She got to practice last night and she seems much more relaxed now too. This morning I have to put tools & belts back on my van. Once my garage is neat again, I’m free & clear to go back to vacation mode. Supposed to be 18 mph winds from the south pretty much all day. If I setup on the long range with the wind to my back, should be warm enough, I’ll shoot later.

I hope the inventory went smoothly. Lorelei, my 12 year old granddaughter loves unicorns and gets unicorn gift all the time. This year for Christmas she wanted pink unicorn headphones. And she is getting them of course.

Good Morning. Congratulations on the inventory!

Still 50% asleep and heard the phone vibrate... Rat Alert time and I am at 'em. I get my car back today, hooray. The 1991 Nissan King Cab is awesome to drive and hauls the firewood, compressor, guns and generator nicely but I miss having the horese power of my regular car.

I am gonna get some ratting video this morning if they show up again.

That made me giggle about your granddaughter & unicorns. I think that’s great. My kid is such a unicorn lover, she gets upset with people who don’t know the difference between a unicorn, Pegasus and an alicorn. She loves all 3 as well as horses. But you have to know the difference. She’ll correct me every time.

71 degrees sounds awesome. With that weather on the first day of winter I would have a jam packed schedule! Hiking, biking, shooting and a barbecue.

Rambo decided to snore right in my ear at 4:00 am this morning so I pulled on his whiskers and ears for the next 15 minutes to return the favor. He finally got enough of that and got up. By then I was wide awake and got up to make coffee.
Full day of work today and 1/2 day tomorrow. Then I begin my 11 day Winter shutdown break.
Went to the RV and grabbed the leaky SPA CP1 C02 pistol/carbine kit and brought it to the gun room. Researched and requested the parts to convert it to PCP from Wes in Canada. That and a 30minute 4500psi CF tank should make a great camp gun.
