the magazine design, the lever action with the no chance to double feed are just a couple of things that are worth those 200 bucks

Don't waste your time second-guessing yourself. Get some pellets and get out there to shoot it.

There were problems with the baffles in the .22 clipping the pellets in a certain production run. But Crosman has likely worked it out by now. If not, they'll certainly fix it up for you.

Actually the .22 has a history of hit or miss barrels, Tuners become ill from being overworked trying to fix them Mauraders

Thats one reason i got a .25 was accuracy.My Disco in .22 got lucky on as it is very accurate but got it as soon as they came out.maybe they paid more attention at first but have taken many birds and squirrels at the 50 yard mark.M-rod is basically point,shoot,pick up dead squirrel.! lol

.25  since they use a better barrel.  my .22 m rod not worthy and is just sitting in my room until i can get teh cash for a LW barrel

not even baffles.  the barrels them selves are not very good. mines not esp if you add any speed to the gun.

He finds the best pellets for each gun: the 22 and the 25 caliber M-rods.
The 22 sprays many pellets, but the best in 22 do pretty well against the best in the 25.
Perhaps the problem is the 22 M-rod barrels ID are a little oversized for many 22 pellets.

Interesting Video.... I was disappointed that he didn't use the velocity readings at 1 and 60 yards to calculate the Ballistics Coefficients for all the pellets.... so I fed the numbers into ChairGun and got the following results....

These BCs are only valid for the above pellets at the velocities tested.... but they will give a good idea of how they work in an MRod.... I was a bit surprised that the BCs of the .25 cal pellets wasn't significantly better than their .22 cal counterparts.... That may, in part, be due to the fact that the way these MRods were set up, similar pellets were actually shooting faster out of the .25 cal than they were from the .22 cal MRod.... The roughly 10% edge in velocity of the larger caliber, and the pure velocities the pellets were shot at.... may have been putting the .25 cal pellets further past the velocity where their BC peaks....

The trends certainly are clear, however.... If you want maximum retained energy at long range, use the heaviest pellets you can.... and round nosed pellets definitely outperform other shapes at similar weights.... The one surprise for me was how well the EunJin Pointed did.... but on the other hand, it's muzzle velocity was only 700 fps.... so it wasn't beginning to get into the velocity zone where it should suffer extra drag....
