I am bringing this topic up as a possible safety concern. After watching Stephen's video i realize i wasn't the only one with these divots in the top air cylinder. Anyone that owns an Avenger should pull their barrel band & check for themselves. The cylinder is supposed to be titanium but short of showing it to a metallurgist i would much rather have a cylinder with no digs in it. My upper cylinder has 4 divots & the shroud has 2. I have called Air Venturi a number of times & got connected to the tech dept but the phone is never answered. Maybe this is just a cosmetic thing & nothing that could affect the integrity of the cylinder but i don't know? Check your own guns & you be the judge

I brought that up in my original post about the screws marking up the air tube abd I didn't care for that. If some one gets heavy handed and tightens them too much it might cause a problem. Or repeated removal and reassmbly.

Randy, would you be able to share exactly which screws these are that dig into the air tube when overtightened? Could the factory shorten them a bit?

Your welcome= Stephen makes great videos, just make some popcorn first as it is a long one. I just tried Air Venturi again & just got elevator music!! I wrote an email to Nova Vista about the problem. If they answer i will pass it on. They make very good guns & i don't see how something like that got by them?

Looks like some soft tipped screws (nylon or brass) might be the ticket. Does anyone know what is the size of the OEM screw?

Well, I guess all the suggestions to go through the gun and tighten down all the screws wasn't a real good plan... huh?
I'm going to have a look at mine this weekend... I have yet to tighten any of the barrel band screws so mine are right where the factory put them.
In the meantime, pics would be nice.

I saw the pictures within Stephen's video.

I'd say we would need allot more details to know if there is an issue, like what the tube is made of and thickness, etc.

I thought that the die cast part might be an issue if the reg failed and full pressure was applied to the internals. But, it looks like all the die cast is post the valve poppet, and only take the shot pressure.

Hard to tell definitively from the pic, but it looks like it's not much more then the paint (or whatever the finish is)

I'm sure that Air Venturi is perfectly aware of the divot issues already !!! If not then they're not very savy to their imported stuff

They are in the barrel band. It may not be a problem but I didnt like the way they marked up the tube.

Accurate, and already working on a solution. Sadly these things take some time to implement. For what it's worth, the guns have been pressure tested to over 7500 PSI (yes, with tubes with "divots" in them) with no issues.

I honestly think that a better barrel band should be made to replace what I'd consider a defect in engineering. If the air tubes are made of titanium it wouldn't seem like that divot would be right in the metal like they are, it's not a good design IMO. I see a corner cut that could possible be a future leak after use

Not really what I'd consider a safe design.

I believe that McMaster Carr carries nylon tipped set screws.
