With so much different advice, I'm unsure in which direction to go for the skunks. I'm 'bailing out' of sorts for the moment and will try to lure them in a place where I'll be able to dispatch them with the Avenger.
If that works, I'll spend my money on the Akela asap.
In any case, I have a request pending with Wes regarding the Artemis PP750. I discovered the opportunity when it wasn't one anymore, but I'm keeping my money for that one if by chance he ends up with one extra with US specs .

To the O.P. I didn`t read through the entire thread because I have to leave for work in a few minutes. I gather from your first post you are not aware of Conibear traps, a body gripping trap that kills. One of these placed in a den entrance and you will wake to a dead skunk, most of the time without odor.  They are not hard to set and the cost is not bad. I taught a friend to set one and instructed him to set it after his small dogs were in for the night and to remove it before they were set out in the mourning to avoid an accident. He caught three skunks in three nights, no stink, problem solved.

The number 110 Conibear is what you want. Good luck.

I have a Hatsan AT-P2 in .25 out of the box did 15 shots at 23FPE with 2.5% ES, 2 spring turns made a korean cliff starting at 30FPE ten shots to 23FPE.
1/2 unf barrel with large LDC makes it a perfect yard gun, thumps and is quiet. It is an AT-44 variant so super common parts, you can even get a lefty grip.

AT-P1 is the same without adjustable stock and refurbs can be had, on occasion, for $129 at Hatsan's site (got lucky and picked one up in .177 does 13 shots at 10FPE).

Thane, what is your opinion of the semiauto Hatsan Sortie Tact? I was lusting after one but they're never available in the refurb section

I have a Sortie in .177, it is a lot of fun, but difficult to tune and even harder to keep quiet.

Thank you sir, the "harder to keep quiet" part about nixes it for me. Too bad, I thought being a semiauto pistol was very cool and I always liked the foldup mini-carbine concept.
