  If I was to buy an Impact, just to get the rifle delivered, I would go with whoever I feel deserves the support of a purchase, and who has the model I want in stock.
  If you want one to be delivered already set up, go with Ken Hicks.

  Since the FX Hybrids are now available in .25, you could go with the pellet liner and shoot them along with the various JSB diabolos..
  My STX pellet liner A shoots the hybrids phenomenally in .22, along with the original and redesigned Monster diabolos.
  Supposedly, the slug liner will run out the same with slugs and pellets, but I have no direct experience with one. This option may be best for you if you plan on casting.

  I bought my X model in 19, right before the MK ll came out, and have had 0 problems, leaks or anything. NADA, just fill shoot and fiddle with adjustments.

  There are gains to be had with flaring the pellet probe and brass transfer port on barrel. There is a very informative thread on AGN dealing with the subject. I found the process to be quite easy, and the FPS gain was noticeable. I went from running Original design .22 Monsters at 900 to running the 22 Gr. FX Hybrids at 900 with no changes except port flaring and Delrin C3 bumper upgrade.
  The latest power plenum models may come with a Delrin C3 bumper installed VS the o ring bumper, I am not sure on that. You will want to change out the C3 bumper if you plan on dialing the impact up to hot rod status. There is a very good YouTube video on how to change it out by Edosan that is the absolute easiest method to follow, and if you pull the barrel to port flare it, the process is that much easier.

My FX Impact X MKII with the .25/700mm barrel finally came in.  took quite a few weeks, but its here!  shooting absolute round bug holes at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards.  Tony at talon tunes, did an absolute great job on it.  he lapped the barrel, polished and tuned it.  set it to shoot the 25.4 JSB kings at 925 fps.  and it shoots!  the scope i picked is the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP.  Not 100% sure if I like this scope for it, i think a 4-12 might be more my style.  the gun stacks pellets.  its insane.    if you are at all debating getting one of these rifles, i vote yes.  absolutly get it.

No , but they should give me a discount ..   Nuvair has the best deal on 1 gallon shipped that I could find , plus in the instructions the yong heng  china boys recommend running the 46 oil which is not designed for this use , just like the cheap low volume water pump they use that needs to be replaced by a higher volume 1 …

 but you know they could put in their instructions that you have to "tap dance" ,and sing " mary had a little lamb "  when you turn the unit on , and I could see certain individuals on here that would do just that …

You said you ordered the superior bbl. Did you mean to say Slug liner X bbl? I cast for .22 and Denis, here on the forum and I have been experimenting with several designs. He is currently using both the Brownells liner and the B slug liner with great results with our cast.


If I cannot order an Impact anytime soon, I will at least purchase the liner and put it in the Mini Raptor!

Mike = The smart ones do their research , Paul is one that pays attention to details as you are, and I am , and before I bought oil we did some research , and you pointed  out the fact most of the oils guys were recommending were not rated for high pressure compressors , so digging in deep we figured out why you need to run Diester synthetics to get the right protection for the application …

I don't like the statement on the 751 oil that states it strips paint and may destroy seals, plus all of the detergents.  Compressor oils are without detergents typically.  I'm not saying it's not a good lube, but can't ignore those details either.

I don't think you have to worry about that at all , we have people that have had that oil for over 3 years in the yong heng and they are doing very well running good …  I contacted Nuvair , and North shore compressor  I explained what I was running compressor wise ,and both told me diester based oil is what was needed to run a high pressure compressor the demands are much higher in this application  …

I would like to know just how much power  you can make with the .35 impact ?  FPE ?  … I was thinking about Having Dan Mcvey XP airguns build me a .357 or 308 long barrel … but with the impact I can run .30 and .35 repeater …

I can get 99fpe in .25 with the bigger plenum, 6.5mm valve seat, ported barrel inlet and probe, reg at 150-155 with the 700mm.  The bigger plenum is a game changer.
