My FX Impact X MKII with the .25/700mm barrel finally came in. took quite a few weeks, but its here! shooting absolute round bug holes at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. Tony at talon tunes, did an absolute great job on it. he lapped the barrel, polished and tuned it. set it to shoot the 25.4 JSB kings at 925 fps. and it shoots! the scope i picked is the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP. Not 100% sure if I like this scope for it, i think a 4-12 might be more my style. the gun stacks pellets. its insane. if you are at all debating getting one of these rifles, i vote yes. absolutly get it.

already placed an order for a Yong Heng compressor, the big oil/water separator filter, synthetic high temp compressor oil, STX Superior liner, FX hybrid pellets, and about 3000 JSB Kings. being my 2nd .25 gun i have around 2500 on hand already, but can always have more!

Congrats on the FX. I am thinking seriously about joining you. I've had two other guns in mind for several months from two different manufacturers , but too many concerns have developed with both company's when looking forward. My only concern with the Impact is those ~ 30 O-rings it has. I have heard of some leaking, but not in a long while.

Trigger, i don't think the leaking o rings is as big of a deal as it used to be. The MKII has really tightened up a lot of issues with them. and the new barrel liners are sweet.

From the outside looking in, I also get the sense leaks aren’t so much an issue these days. I say that based on chatter across several forums and particularly over on AGN. Besides, we know the kinda guy you are. If there’s a leak, you’ll get it sorted out in short order!

The most common thing I see is questions about regulator creep. It has been difficult for me to get a read on what percentage of it is a real problem versus simply not having the hammer spring tension set to the velocity knee, but no doubt it’s less of a problem that you might at first think based on the amount of discussion devoted to the subject. For example, on quite a few occasions I’ve advised people seeing 3 bar of rise or 5 bar of rise. That’s well under 100psi, whose effect will evaporate when tuned correctly.

Those impacts are impressive. I recently watched the Utah Airguns .35 video. I'm not necessarily impressed with the energy level of the .35, to me it is sort of anemic for such a large bore size. I would have been much more excited about a 130fpe .308 than a 130fpe .35... But I was impressed with the overall functionality----cycling the sidelever to cock/load appeared to happen effortlessly. I was definitely impressed.

Not sure if it is my style, but I will at least admit to admiring from a distance.

Congrats on the new piece of fine machinery.

If it creeps at all, i'm dropping a Huma regulator into it. i kind of want to buy one for the $150 or so that they are, just to make sure it never happens. Reg creep is the one issue i AM worried about.

Usually after a regulator "breaks in" any regulator creep is eliminated. It does take more shooting on some guns than others for the regulator to settle. I had a Customer with an FX Crown that had a creep issue. The gun was sent to FX who just shot it till the creep was greatly diminished or eliminated. I don't know but I suspect the bellvilles "wear-in" during use. I have wondered if polishing the bellville stack would make for a more stable regulator.

Agreed, a new regulator will benefit from being cycled. That helps the soft side of the valve seat conform to the hard side. If the surfaces are unusually poor (machining marks, scratches, etc.), you can smooth them with wet/dry paper and that will clear it up.

I too have an Impact MK II with power plenum but in .22. I bought the slug liner "A" at the same time and swapped the pellet liner for the slug liner. When it was new there was a regulator creep that varied almost 10 bar according to the gauge. I wondered if there was something wrong, but chose to shoot it a lot. Now there is no creep at all, steady as a rock. My fill gauge had a very small leak. A quick 1/4 turn by hand and no leaks.
700mm slug liner shoots the JSB 25.4 grain .22 @ 965 average and the NOE .22 HP-BT which drops @ 28.4 grain @ 925 fps average @ Max on the wheel. 3 magazines of 28.

It's good to read the leaky-leaks are a thing of the past. Like I mentioned, I can't say as I have heard about those issues in a good while now.

I have rebuilt serval Huma regs. My last was just before a hunting trip with my Marauder. I set it to 2400 psi, but it creeped up to 2900 psi while on the trip. It was great for night hunting coons at 35 yards, but it threw off my tight ES tune. Once back home off the 10 day trip, I noticed it was back to 2400 psi. It's been solid every since. It does take them a while sometimes to settle down.

I'm thinking a .25 cal power plenum to start. I would like to cast for .25 cal and .30 cal eventually. The .35 cal is a nice mid-power range at ~ 130 FPE, but I already have a .357 Slayer for my big bore needs which I can run up and over twice that power level for 5 shots, which is better for my needs.

I really don't need an FX or any other gun, but I just want one, or something new to play with. Not any gun will do for me at this point in my hobby. The FX Impact sounds like a good contender. I love to tune to an awesome string. It can be a decent challenge to dial'em in tight.

So I don't miss out on any coupon deals or best deals on an Impact, where is the best place to purchase an Impact? I see Trenier Outdoors carriers them. I'm not sure yet about any others.

the FX rifles i have are great shooters...a wise choice,i wish i would have started with FX rifles but i had fun along the way deep into the rabbit hole.
