Possible "Snake Charmer" Idea

what id do is make shot shells to fit the mags of gun.. So some thin wall .500 o.d tubing loaded with wadding, glue ,  and buckshot.
i can see your idea too , but seems time consuming , and no way to retain the shot in the chamber as its rotating. making shot shells is almost inevitable.

See, but if I use the umarex, those clips aren't long enough to load a shell...     I was thinking of loading the clip like you would a shell: wad, load, wad...  That way, the shot load is secure.  Vid:



But again, this would be done in each bore of the clip.  Either way, whether it be a shell or the clip, I'm re-loading something...    It wouldn't really be any more or any less work than loading shells...

How do you like it?  It's a bit big for what's in my head as a "snake charmer", but that might be the easiest conversion...

Haven't shot it yet. I'll test it out on Saturday. Bought it to try different projectiles; it's easy to stuff long things into.

There are a couple of YT vids on how to remove a restrictor that limits velocity. Looks fairly simple.

youd have to make short shot shells.. But really not that short as the chambers are over 1/2 inch deep.. they just wouldnt be rifle cartridge shaped.

But the revolver wouldn't be able to be loaded in the traditional way- those .50 cal balls are pushed into the cylinder from the front...  The original small clip is attached to the back of the .50 cal cylinder.  That's why I was thinking of just loading the cylinder bores instead of using shot shells... 

Dimensionally, I wonder how close to real 12 ga shells these are:



Those are APS CO₂shells, they're rechargeable and can be charged with HPA...  load just like a shotgun, cardboard wad, then fill with shot...  Maybe be able to use a modified 12 gauge flare gun (cheapie orange one from walmart)...  That would be small enough for a true "snake charmer".  Thoughts?

 But i thought repeater was the goal?? maybe i need to study the hd50 mags better, i didnt notice the front back bias.
the co2 shotgun victor has above  seems cool also.
 The real decision is simple , making shot shells versus buying shot shells.. The more you shoot , the more i think being able to buy shot shells is ideal

the tube is .498 diameter by .500 long.. ( will fit the mags )
the tube i.d is .418 , but could be pushe to 44o.. cut the tube , then crushed a wad of aluminum foil in the back , layed it down as a cup , added 8 bbs .. 10 drops of crazy glue , let it sit.. now everything is bonded , the tube , the foil , the bbs to each other.. But the co2 blast will seperate everything instantly.

anyway , food for thought , yes i was bored LOL.. were they gonna sit over night to cure , you could fill the top off the BBS with elmers , it would be softer and cheaper than the crazy glue , and assure no bbs are falling into your pockkets the next day

Oh, believe me, I'd prefer a repeater, and I'd really like to use Gamo shells for some reason...  But with those CO₂ .50 cal paintball conversions, they all load from the front...  One conversion even loads like those old school single action colts- the cylinder doesn't come out, you have to rotate the cylinder and load each chamber one at a time- rotate, load, rinse, repeat... 

That break-open double barrel is awesome for sure, and honestly, would probably be the easiest to convert to use Gamo-sized shells...  But the gun is bigger than I'd like...

I wish that Umarex revolver had an external hammer!  That one can be tweaked for more power...  The Crosman's can't, not really.  To be fair, the umarex revolver can't be tweaked for too much more power.  But the fact that it can be tweaked at all is definitely a plus.   

The Gamo shotgun is rated at 750 fps...  Not sure how they got that number- but whatever it really is, it's well above the paltry revolver's 420+ fps.

The hardest idea to build is for sure the SSP-250 version...  It requires a custom breech at the very least.  Also, not sure what velocities I can get in the platform.

I'm not after a behemoth of course, given the compact size I'm after- but I'm also not looking to build an ineffectual mouse either.  Though the gun will be a fun shooter and used mostly for plinking, it's still a purpose-built snake charmer/carpenter bee/Japanese hornet killer (that last one is mostly in jest  ).  I could also use it as a close range pest dispatcher using crow magnums or something at point blank range... *sigh*  What to do, what to do?

yea, all conversions come with challenges .. especially when you actually have to make thee parts. another problem , the hd50 isnt even available right now , all US sellers are out of stock from what ive seen . I think the shotgun can be modded, from what ive read. the hd50 could be modded, but the hammer strike = more trigger pull. no easy solution.

-  .30 Mrod bullpup is currently with Rocker1 being finished.  Needed some small parts made.
-  6mm is waiting on small parts, but will be done in a few weeks- whenever those parts get here.  Still need to order an LDC from Neil Clague before shooting/tuning and sighting in.
-  7mm Texan barrel is done (need to buy a texan).  Need to get the tank and tank adapter from Mr. Noble.  Haven't decided whether or not to make a full custom frame.
-  Mr. Noble is still steadily working on my .257 Condor.
-  .357 Mrod was done, bolt broke, currently waiting on upgraded bolt lug/bolt
-  Rapid Mk2 is still waiting on the stock.  Covid-19 put a halt on some orders.  Found a work around- currently waiting on Epoxy and fiberglass to wrap the stock I'm making for it.  Should be here soon- The gun's been done (by Motorhead) for a while. 
-  .30 Full custom Dawson Rapid still with tuner (been since '13)
-  PP700 still needs custom parts, changed up the build a bit.  I'm building it into a carbine.  Need to get in touch with machinist.
-  Crosman Mk1 has been done for a while, but it's not sealing. 
-  Still need to order .172 barrel and have it machined, plus order the stock and some small parts.
-  13xx build is pretty much last in line to be finished.
-  Katana "clone" is after the 13xx build.
-  "Slow and fat" low powered .25 Mrod parts are currently with machinist, will only need assembly when those parts get back.
-  FWB 602 needs to be sent to tuner, stock is done
-  Racine 'Dan in .20 needs to be sent to Mac1
-  BS4 still needs to be tweaked for power, but it's done and shooting.

So...  Nope.  None of my projects are done.  Most of my projects are close to being done though.  On almost all of them, I've changed up plans, or a new product came out to make them better, or someone's found a better way of doing things.  The 6mm's taken so long because I've been waiting on that JSAR reg...  over 2 years since they announced that they're working on an externally adjustable reg.  I've just now got one in my hands. 

I'm in no rush for any of these.  For me and my hobbies, it's just as much about the journey as it is the final product.  Also, I have other hobbies, duties and expenses that need tending to...     Also, I'm a perfectionist, and I'm very hard on myself, and have messed up A LOT with all of these projects, and all the other projects I'm working on.  That means time spent correcting a flaw or maybe even scrapping work and starting over- like with my Rapid Mk2 stock.  I think I've done about 3 iterations before getting to where I'm at with the current stock.  I certainly don't want to mess up now.   

EDIT:  My .30 Condor has been completely done for a few months...  So one.  I've got one project fully complete and shooting.    Except the weather hasn't been very good for quite some time.  Because of course.
