We don't have Asian Murder-Death-Devil-Antichrist Hornets here in VA, but we do have LARGE hornets, and I have yet to meet any that survive CO2-propelled RWS Meisterkugeln wadcutters via my 2400KT. I snipe them regularly at distances greater than their general cognizance, as I have no desire to get closer than needed. 20-yard splats are the norm. Now for general mayhem, I have found a can of 3M spray glue an amazing tool when encountering a ground hornet nest. Shake well, then start spraying as they exit. They cannot fly with glued wings and quickly cluster-bomb the entrance to their own hive, clogging up the entrance quickly. After properly "glued", apply canned heat as per your favorite Benzomatic or Turbo-Torch and revel in the crackle-pop! I "resolved" my last ground hornet nest last summer and the results ensured my dogs, the ex-, and myself were all un-stung.
Again, wasp & hornet spray. They call it "Wasp & Hornet" spray for a good reason. The trick is to use it at night when they are all in the nest.Plus, you can kill the entire nest with no problem & not set your house, your neighbors house, field, forest, or even yourself on fire.
