If they nest in the ground due to their size I would use a liter sized liquor bottle filled with gas to plug the hole at dusk and let the gas fumes do their trick on them, kills the queen and all at one time and traps them in the ground.BD

Wonder how they do that? Being ground dwellers, I'm sure they sense vibration like yellow jackets do and I guess they likewise have some capacity to see in the dark.
