Well this is the GX-40 which is the same as the Urban. I wanted to install a Huma Regulator without loosing any original air. I ended up finding a BSA buccaneer air tube. When finished I now have a regulated with maybe a little more air than before. You will also notice the GX-40 has a better barrel that is threaded 1/2-20 instead of the fart sack on the end. PS, I also added a CF tube to the barrel.

I have not ran it thru the crony yet but while I was in there I reamed the valve body form 10mm to 13mm for a little more plenum. Then I opened up the TP and barrel port and also massage the pellet probe. I went with a .25 cal regulator also because I was told that it was 10mm longer for more plenum. So it should shoot a little faster hopefully. I have fired it and it seems more powerful than my stock Urban. We shall see.

That extra air would be nice to have. I cut off the fart pickle threaded the barrel and put a rocker1 LDC on it.

Well I think also the barrel is the longer barrel of the Yote/Buc than the Urban's 15" barrel... I absolutely love my .177and .22 Buccaneers... they are also pre fartcan...1/2-20... Mine have partial CF shrouds...hope they have the buc air tubes in stock for a good while because would like to upgrade my Urby with one in the future...and Maybe with a 24" Remmy 514 .22 lr barrel also...

I would also have a Buccaneer .25 also but they put a to short barrel on them... if they had put the Scorp 1200 se 24" barrel on it would have not been so low on fpe...

Seems like a good build- the Urban/Coyota/Buccaneer are fantastic airguns as-is. Improving on the platform just makes a good thing better.

I like my stock $220 Urban just like it is without investing anymore into it.
I'm sure your rewards are well worth it.

I have a stock urban here that I bought about a year ago. I really like the gun but couldn't stand the pickle. Always reminded me of a kids cheap toy. So when I seen the GX-40 without the ugly pickle I jumped on it. Then like most of us here I had to hot rod it.

And It does have a longer barrel than the urban and it is stamped hammer forged.

I've seen a couple with the pickle removed and a full shroud added. Very clean looking. I would want a barrel band though.

Yes I like the barrel band and had to bore out the barrel hole to 18mm to fit over the CF tube. I also added two 4mm set screws thru the top of the breech to help keep the barrel stiffer.

I had accuracy probs with leaving the barrel band on with my .177 Buc... it actually pulled the barrel down just a touch and just did not like it... it wants free floated...

the .22 and Urban do not mind the band but the Bucc .22 shoots the same with it or when free floated... even with the 30g BBT at just under 700 fps... and 675 fps at factory settings...

Yes Kirby.... I suppose I like the barrel band for peace of mind. See, I've been known to be somewhat of a klutz at times and accidents happen. A free floating barrel band would comfort me.... like that of the MRod..... especially on a utility gun.

I like the looks but I will try it both ways with and without the band. It's very easy to come off on the GX-40. You don't have to pull the barrel like on the Urban.

You mean something like this:
Longer air tube, suppressed, shrouded barrel with barrel band, CDT trigger, tuned for about 60 shots @ 28ish fpe ....
