I also picked up an Urban when it was on sale for less than $200, and from reading all the raves on GTA about it. Turns out all the rave, was not just hype. This is a great little shooter, right out of the box. Accurate, hard hitting, compact and lightweight, this gun was designed for hunting. I haven't felt the need to change a thing. Oh, that ginormous pickle? I actually like it. I just like the look of a big ole fat can at the end of a rifle barrel.

I believe it's a bit too fat, for a lot of people taste. For my preference it's fine. I whole heartedly agree that it's got a pleasant contour/shape to it, rather than just looking like a can of spiked seltzer.

Interesting .... I actually bought that gun from another member here, and it had that green 'booger' on it! It matched the scope rings he had on the rifle, and that green ring on the stock. I thought of replacing it with a black one ... too lazy ..... the tube is a Rocker1 shroud which works very well.

This particular scope is branded NEEWER, it is a 19x40 30mm tube with etched reticle - illuminated - which is very clear and accurate. Never lost a setting on several guns. Tried to find it again, but not so easy. Neewer is an optical manufacturer in China, I just don't know if they make the scope or just rebrand it. I also have a 4x16x44 from them, which is equally as good.

But seriously, I think these rifles are a bit under appreciated.   And at the price I paid ($172.00, delivered), nothing has a higher value provided quotient.

I would have preferred a threaded barrel, but the moderator works ok.   Some months after I bought my Urban, PA was selling Buccaneers for a short time with threaded barrel and brake for $199.99, which I would have picked instead.   (Should have bought one anyway)

Like I said earlier I do have a pickle. This one a bought used for $100 and it was pretty rough. It wouldn't hold air and it looked like he held the scope on with vise grips. But after a little TLC it ended up being a great shooter.

I have NO IDEA what I was thinking ... it is a 10x44, the rest is correct.

I agree Matt. I think Gamo agrees also. That's why Gamo made the GX-40 with a threaded barrel. You can choose what flavor pickle you like.
