And so the measurements I got were .209/.214 which is what I expected. My .214 sizing die should be here on Friday from Lee so should work good.

Dillon, I have been looking for a .214" sizer for some time now as NOE does not make one. Did you go with a LEE Custom or did someone have them in stock?

I ordered a Lee custom one. I contacted NOE yesterday about them though if they can make smaller but haven't heard back.

I feel for you Dillon.  I watched a news report about dairy farms shutting down in the U.S. at an alarming rate and thought immediately of your family.  It was really sad to see those farms that the show highlighted that had been in the family for 30 to 40 years or more shutting down.  I guess the new generations doesn't drink milk or eat cereal much anymore.  The cereal companies are really struggling as well.

I do prefer almond milk myself these days, sorry.  My wife still drinks milk though.

I tried that almond milk and it is NASTY! Wrong color and tastes yucky. I will stick with full strength cows milk. Yep I like my milk like I like my women, white and ice cold! :

You must have gotten a hold of the Silk almond milk.  That brand is nasty.  I like the Blue Diamond Almond Breeze much better.

I ended up purchasing a NOE 177 Bushing (B173  .173") drilled it thru with a #2 drill (.213") and polished to .2140" using JB compound followed by Fritz. I just resized a batch of 217-30 NOE slugs to try in my .22 Liberty which also slugged to .2145".
I found them too tight to chamber when sized to .215". A .22 Raptor may be next after I receive my .257 HP.

So update kinda. Haven't shot the gun really all that much. I pulled the barrel to check the barrel port which was at .165". I opened it to .175x.190. Put it back together and still feeds pellets nicely. I have the reg set at 150bar. Will hopefully test tomorrow to see what it can do. Was thinking about doing it tonight but it's 15 degrees lol. Yeah I'm staying warm inside. Also changed out the scope to my 4.5-18x44 Discovery VT-2.

Curious as to why you had to open up the port? Did you order it for one thing and then decide to tune for more power?

Also, is that the Sumo on there? Glad to see you finally got your gun!

What is the diameter of the valve port? Nice job on opening it up at .175x190 is awesome porting first pellets and slugs. If you go to slug only the port can be opened up a bit more in OD past .175 and elongated enough to go past the transfer port with the end of the slug. No need to larger diameter/area of valve exhaust port ID as it doesn’t help any. She looking good buddy!

Bigger port IMO was not required .... I'm easily making 53+ ft-lbs in my Raptor valved Warp .22 cal on .165" transfer.  valve actually closes faster with some restriction ( Lower dwell ) and does not effect power, or very very little.
You will make as much power on larger porting, it's just going to cost you more air use due too increased dwell.

These balanced valves DO NOT operate and respond like a conventional valve does.

It's the Tatsu that they come with. And no this is what they come with I just wanted to open it up as I'm just looking for power.

Randy, the TP on the exhaust port is .250. And yeah this is going to be a slug shooter mainly but still wanted to keep it for pellets just in case.

Good to know Scott. I'm sure with tuning I can get it straightened out with less air use. If I was worried about air consumption I wouldn't be trying to make a 17" .22 push 45-50fpe lol

Dillon, the Discovery VT-T looks great on her! I have one of those scopes...one of my favs for sure! Might put that one on the Raptor on order.

Dillon, While waiting on the proper slug barrel, I put a 19" one I had here. I am now tuned to "74 FPE" with 39 gr .2213 Slugs. Poor over worked Travis slipped a coc and sent a pellet barrel. LoL and I know he "KNOWS", Knife don't shoot no "Stink'n Pellets".    


This is Texas, and we got Tough Critters, and much longer ranges than most. Took a squirrel yesterday very short range. 60 yard. Almost never happens so close.

I got to shoot it this afternoon for about 10 min at 25yds. Was going to tune it but my chrony battery was dead. Shot some 23gr NSAs which didn't do hot, RD monsters which were pretty good but the 18gr were the best at where it's tuned right now. Also I did test the tensioned barrel system out on trying to get it to change poi but the smacking I did and moving the barrel in every way possible still hit dead center the next shot. So I can have full faith in it keeping it's zero.

I dropped mine off the hot tube right on the barrel and it didnt do anything except bend the scope bell

Yeah, having faith in poi sureness is a HUGE piece of mind when out in the field. The barrel I put in temporally is far too flexible. Putting another cf tube on it tonight. It is becoming a bull barrel.


But still no where near as solid as a Tensioned Barrel.
