You can add a "street tee' in place of the fill foster fitting to add a gauge as well. You need a 1/8" NPT "street tee" which has one male end and two female ends, just make sure its HPA rated to 5000 psi or higher to be safe. You will also need a foster fitting that has the check valve captured in the fitting so it cannot blow out of the fitting when filling since the cavity in the tee fitting is larger in diameter than the check valve.

I had been looking for stainless, but found none rated high enough

If I have gauge clearance with the barrel, I'd like to fill from the side and have the gauge in line with the tube.
Make sense?

It should work in either configuration just fine. I put the fill fitting inline with air tube so I do not have to look down the barrel to see pressure but that's just my preference. Its your gun so your choice.
