My $50 Ruger Airhawk Project Code Green

Hello every one just wanted to show off what I got today
.
I was checking the local classifieds and I found this for 65 dollars. I got a good look at it I decided to offer the guy 50 bucks and he took it
. The gun is in good condition but he obviously didn't take care of it. Had some light rust on the receiver, was missing one of the side stock screws (important) and he had sanded off the original color from the stock. I got home and maybe 30 minutes later I had her feeling better. I took off all the rust from the receiver, found the right screw to replace the missing one on the stock and tightended everything up. I can't wait to go shoot her see how she feels. I'm considering this gun for my first at home tune job
.
Anyone know where I can get any info, kits or parts lists for this gun.
The RWS 34 kits should work right?
Heres a pic the bipod didn't come with it.

Congrats on the shooter. For $50 how could you go wrong ?
As you already know the Airhawk is a clone of the RWS 34 so obtaining seals, springs, etc is easy. Try here.....
http://www.airguns.citymax.com/page/page/251330.htm
You should be able to find everything you need. Just don't forget, you will need a suitable spring compressor.

Cool thanks..
I have an Idea on a how to build a compressor. Not 100% sure.
I just have to see what kind of atachment it's going to need in order to reach the spring.
Since the stock is such a light color now its going to be easy to stain it Emerald Green like I did with my guitar
.
Man I feel like a kid on Christmas night only thing is that I already know what's in the box and it's killing me to get it.
That de-cocking safety feature rules!

Look in the GTA "Library" and you'll find plans for a suitable spring compressor

Just came up stairs after sanding the stock down and staining it green.
I have to wait until tomorrow to add some Polycrylic coats.
I took the time to test shoot her before I took her apart and she shoots great.
I'm thinking of doing a just lube and hone tune up first with the same parts.
Then I'll order the GTR kit for it. What would you guys recommend? Vortex or GTR kits?
By the way here's a sneak into what the stock is going to look like.
You guys might not like it but I dig green
. I'll post some more pics when it's done.

Always loved green stocked rifles, reminds me of the Styer SSG sniper rifle back in 87 when it came out.

Ok guys here she is.
The stain I used was Miniwax Express color in Emerald Green.
They do have other colors. I got it at the local hardware store.
Its water based but I coat it with layers of Miniwax Polycrylic for protection and a bit of shine.
I like using this stain because its fool proof. Just wipe the excess off against the grain. So much quicker than traditional stains.
Any way here a couple of pics with the action on.
I'm Happy

That looks very nice PP
Regarding tweaking the internals, a good clean, re-lube and polishing the spring ends should make a difference.
TJK gave me the tip to use two drift pins so the trigger's internals stay in place when you take the trigger unit out, there's a video about that on my youtube channel, I don't post it here since I didn't use a spring compressor, mine only has a 12 fpe spring.
Happy tweaking

Thanks guys I'm glad you guys like it.
I would recommend doing this to one of your hunting guns it camos really well.
I took it out side set it in the grass and plants went inside asked my girlfriend to come outside and find it. She couldn't
.
That was after I had given her a tip as to where it was
.
It was about 20 yards away from her. I should have took a pic
.
Thanks for the tip Brutuz that's gona come in handy.
BTW your Chinese airgun portal is amazing I learned alot form it recently.

The depicted Irwin clamp in 36" will do you nicely as a custom made spring clamp for the RWS rifles (I used it with my Ruger Blackhawk) and you can get it at your local Lowes store. IMHO, it can't be beat and probably cheaper in the long run than building one.

That Irwin clap would work for the Ruger.
I think I want to build something that would also work for my other rifles though.
Those links have great info man thanks. Looks like Vortek is the way to go.
Nice!! That disco looks too cool man. I was thinking of staining my stock that dark but my guitar is that color so I went one coat lighter. I can still see the grain on mine. hows the stain holding up?
