Nice warm march day in NH so I decided to replace a cracked tail light on the Honda. I figured it would be a fast and easy little job. What a stupid thought, I should know better. All the inside trim and panels on the hatch have to come out. The tiny bolts are hard to reach and don't line up with the holes they have to pass through, the electrical connectors are frozen in place. Resourceful back yard mechanics can get it done no matter what the problem is with the aid of a giant screwdriver and a ball peen hammer.

Well a little more house cleaning until it warmed up, then it was get the broken engine mount off and use the new one to see how much I need to pull the radiator frame over. Waiting on the battery to charge back up. Plant some chestnut trees from last years nuts. I have two trees now and one is starting to produce, the other one is kind of a late bloomer. Just piddle around in the garden for a minute.

I got the carburetor cleaned on the Honda Power Washer and it runs great now under load with no surging. A young man that is in the Navy and goes to our Church and myself are going to work on getting the exterior of the Church building painted starting tomorrow. He wants to do it and is taking vacation days to have the time. I am not looking forward to doing the prep and painting work but am really looking forward to spending time along side of him working together. And it will be nice to have the painting done and save the church some money on labor too.

I know it will cause me a lot of pain

but a lot of satisfaction too.

Went to see the quacks today. Jackpot! Four more weeks of sick leave! The little PA was perfectly good with my announcement that I didn’t think I should go back to work just yet. I told her that I have almost unlimited sick leave and she asked me how long did I want? They don’t want me to start PT fo another month so I said how about then? She said great that they would re-evaluate me in a month.

I believe one of my daughter’s brooms has a custom two piece broom stick.

She doesn’t use it much. Says it’s pretty but too slow.

She really is named Sabrina.

Oil change and tire rotation for the Corolla.

Made progress on laying some tile. Had to stop to make the oil change appt.

Ran an errand with Mrs. P and not we are home and she is beginning the process of making dinner and I’m getting a snack and going to set up for round two of tile.

We started out by going to buy the paint and supplies, then we worked on paint prep work until 4:30 PM. I also worked a bit on cleaning and re-securing rain gutters and rescreening an attic vent that something made a hole through. We just finished our Wednesday Bible Study and I am really tired out now. I am not use to being on my feet all day and up and down the ladders too.

Two more planned painting days hope we get it all done.

This morning I got my airless paint sprayer out and I could not get it primed.

I worked with the young man that is helping just using rollers and brushes. Then about 3:45 PM I decided to see if I could get the sprayer working. I took it partially apart and oiled and made sure all the moving parts were freed up. With all the moving parts now oiled and free I put it back together and it works great, at least with water, tomorrow we will try to use it with paint. The afternoon wind had come up so I didn't want to use it a little and have to spend more time cleaning it than using it. He also got a call to from his wife to come home and help with their daughter. Since I am already feeling beat I just called it a day at 4:30 too.

I am fairly confident that things will go quickly tomorrow with the sprayer, we may not get it all done but I am pretty sure most of it will be finished by quitting time.

Dan. Run about a cup of mineral spirits through your paint sprayer after you clean it up for the day. This will insure that everything is ready to go the next time you pull it out.

I slept a lot today. I took Belle out for her daily exercise. Lots of running around the pasture chasing a tennis ball and frequent swims in the fish pond. With Belle tired out we loaded up and went to town for some shopping. We stoped at the grocery store because I was all out of grits. Then at Tractor Supply Belle towed me around the store while the memsahib got all three propane tanks filled. We bought plants for the garden at TS and Ace Hardware. Last summer I had good results with a variety of heat resistant determinate tomato. This year I bought ten of them. Usually I propagate my tomatoes from seed but these are hybrids and they do extremely well in our hot humid summers

Tile is complete! Grout tomorrow and catch up on laundry since the washer and dryer have been out of commission for setting the tiles. I’ll move them in tomorrow morning to get laundry caught up then remove them to grout in the afternoon. Gonna play pool with pops tomorrow. It’s been over a month since I’ve been over there. Work has been busy busy busy and I’ve been working 5 in a row at the end of my work weeks for a month. I took this week off work to make progress on the bath/laundry. It’s been nice to be home.

"Mineral spirits are banned in California due to VOC legislation concerning volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which aims to keep the air healthy for all residents. The ban on solvents, paint thinners, and other products that produce VOCs went into effect on December 31, 2013."

...so I'll have to find another alternative for now, and put it on my list of things to buy out of state next trip I go on.

LOL! WhenI lived in CA it was a bit less restrictive but I made frequent trips to other states so it wasn’t a problem. Sounds like it’s time for a trip to Arizona.

Not that I know of. I have about 1 1/2 gallons of lacquer thinner. I hope I can buy more locally when I need it.
