Second coat of paint, a little trim, lights and a mirror.  Little stuff.  Putting the washer and dryer back so we can catch up on laundry.  7 people still living in the house so laundry piles up fast 💨

Well one thing I found out, I have diverticulitis. It's in the colon and I've had it for over 30 years.☹️ I always thought it was my left hip giving me pain but nope. What Id like to know is why when I had a colonoscopy 5 years ago the doctor didn't find it.🤬🤬 What a pain in the butt!

Got the dump run done and made a trip to the store with BL.
Got a bunch of organizing and stuff done in the shop but that's mostly airgun related.

Doing tool inventory and cleaning out the back of the truck so I can haul feed this week. I have one broken bolt on the van to deal with and may have to get a right angle drill to get to it. I found my easy outs this morning so hopefully I can get this out if not just drill out and use a lock nut and bolt. Getting the drill at the right angle is going to be the challenge. This water pump is a replacement and I am dealing with over torqued screws and gasket sealer smeared all over every thing. The pulley bolts were the same way, I was starting to wonder if I could even get those off.

I took that battery charger and basic tools to the barn to see if I could get the eXmark started so I could bring it home and yank the Kawasaki 23 HP dual cylinder motor out to put it on the Z360.
The key was missing so I stuck a small screw driver in the ignition, pulled the choke, gave it half throttle and turned the screw driver. To my amazement it came to life.
So I wiggled it down the dirt road to the house with 3 flat tires and the bad left side drive pump. It was a slow trip but I got it here. The motor runs like a new one. No smoke and runs smooth at every level of rpm.
Tomorrow I'll make room and back it into the shop. The plan is to just take my time try to do it in phases...
1. Pull the motor off of the eXmark and push the bones out of the shop.
2. Drag the Z360 in and pull that 18hp motor.
3. Put the 23hp motor on the Z360.
4. Get the Z360 serviced and test run it then get the eXmark bones and take off motor loaded on the trailer and deliver them to Uncle Mike to salvage what he can from it.
It should go pretty smooth because I've done it before and Uncle Mike showed me the one small mistake I made that wouldn't let it go forward or backward. The issue was I trapped the tensioner with the clutch assembly.

Realized I was posting about the motor swap in the Good Morning thread so I brought it back over here where it should be.
Well... everything was going smooth.. until it wasn't.
When I got to the main pulley on the motor shaft the bolt came out easy enough but the bushing is stuck like chuck.
Nope, it's not the pulley bearing. It's the bushing that holds the bearing and the pulley on the shaft. Since I'm not using that pull and clutch I wasn't being to careful with it and it still won't budge. So after a couple hours of fussing with it I just soaked it down with WD and I'll let it sit over night. Tomorrow I'm gonna get ruff with it. The only thing I don't want to damage is the motor. The rest of it is going for scrap or repurpose.
I think I can go down through a hole in the frame above with a bar and a hammer and beat the clutch and pulley off of the shaft.
Sure would be nice if the WD did it's job and I go out tomorrow to find the whole assembly on the floor under the mower... probably ain't gonna happen.
It's always something.

Ick factor aside we had lunch at our favorite Ptomaine truck and did some shopping.  After we toted it all up I still had some hair left but I won't be retiring anytime soon.

I bought the wife three new rose bushes for her garden and she bought me a new tiller for her garden!

Oh I'd gripe about the price of coffin brass!  I can retire if I want to.  It's a problem of Identity.  Being a park ranger is not a career.  It's a lifestyle.  My Identity is I am a park ranger.  If I retire I won't be a park ranger.  I can't face that.  I'm sticking until they run me off!

Ahhh... the sweet smell of success...
I woke up at 3:30.. my failure yesterday wouldn't let my mind stop.. I hate when that happens.
I sat down with my coffee and watched vids on the motor extraction just to see if I was doing something wrong... nope, the bushing, 2 pulleys and the clutch was just froze stuck to the shaft. I even put an air hammer in my Harbor Freight cart.. I saw others that used one to vibrate it loose.
But I thought I would give it one more try after the WD soaking over night. So at 5:30 I was on my back under the mower. I beat, banged. pried and prodded. The bushing slowly came out. Then I worked the lower pulley out followed by the guts of the clutch.
Then things got ruff again. More persuasion was need to get the clutch housing off but I prevailed.
One pulley to go... but wait.. that pulley will pass through the hole in the plate and I can work on it off of the mower.
I hooked up the "Killer hoist" and took the mounting bolts out of the motor and began to lift. The motor slid sideways and hung on that pulley. One more crank on the hoist and the pulley slipped off and the motor hung free in the air.
YES !!!

Oh BTW... that was maybe one of the worst Super Bowls I have ever seen    I did not enjoy any part of the entire game or show. The only good thing was the fact that we didn't feel like drinking and I feel great this morning. 
But that's just me, I ain't gonna hate... I hope some of you enjoyed it.

Anyways... now it's time to shove the eXmark bones out of the shop and drag the Z360 in. This extraction should go much easier because this motor hasn't been on the mower long enough to be "stuck".

The bad motor is out of the Z360 and swinging on the Killer hoist. That was almost too easy. The hardest part was getting the eXmark out of the shop and the Z360 in. Betty Lou had to help me do that. These things don't move too well on loose gravel. 
After some breakfast I'll head back out and see if I can wrap this up today. I want to check wire connections and shaft sizes and length before I even drop the Kawasaki in.. most of these motors are pretty much the same. Briggs n Stratton, Koehler, Kawasaki and Craftsman... all mounting holes and connections are pretty much interchangeable.
There may be one wire connector I might need to cut and splice.

Pumped the last 650 gallons of water into the storage tanks and I'm going in to get another 1000 gallons. We're (suppose to get) getting rain/snow the end of the week. Not sure how much we'll be getting but the dirt road to get to my house doesn't take much before I can't get the water trailer up it
