After updating the newer iPad's OS recently, it would not do Air Drop with the laptop, so on Monday I updated the laptop's OS also.

That solved the Air Drop problem, but next morning when I fired up the iPad on the other of our two networks (it uses a network), the little gray message of scaredom appeared under the name of the network when it connected, "Not a private network" or something similar.

I went a-hunting for how to fix that one. Tried the obvious things first, such as shutting off WiFi and turning back on (nope), then making sure my setting for private connection was toggled on (yup). The third attempt hit gold:  leave network and sign back on with the network password. Finally!

Monday problem fixed, Tuesday problem fixed. There just had to be a Wednesday problem, and there was. Now the iPad would not show any way to print, even though it used to do so. I suspect the old printer is incompatible now. Well, OK. It is not working well any more and the usual alignment and other routine procedures have not produced clean prints from any device.

Time to shop for a new printer.

With brutally frigid weather for early November, it was a good time to deal with device housekeeping. I then spent several hours going through all the photos and many other files on all three devices, deleting files from iCloud, syncing, etc.

Got a toilet problem also. It sometimes does not fill the tank to where it should. I skimmed some online tips which say there are seven common causes. Might as well do these things while I await delivery of parts to reassemble the 880.

Wonder how the flush handle would work as an 880 trigger LOL

Without having yet done the troubleshooting for it, my guess is that the flapper thingie does not always return to fully seated. There's probably a seal under the plastic. Ummm, like an o-ring?

When we got our septic tank pumped out, the tech mentioned that the silt in our water supply (piped from a reservoir) causes a lot of problems with toilets.

Back at work for a double shift today.  I’ll sleep here tonight then another double tomorrow.

I woke up last night with a sneeze and a sore throat.  I have a cold now.  I brought some nighttime cold medicine to help me rest tonight especially since I won’t be in my own bed.  I’ve been up since 0230 and I’m starting to feel it.

I spent the day discussing art with friends who stayed over after the memsahib's birthday party.  A friend brought me an anthology of Anthony Bouchers short stories, most of Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld and a pile of Heavy Metal, Epic, and Savage Tales editions from the seventies and eighties.  We sat around discussing the pencilings and inkings of Russ Heath, Doug Wildey, Alex Nino, and Alfredo Alcala.  I don't get to visit with my artist friends very often so it was a lot of fun for me.

Not much today, still tired from all the running around and drama with getting things fixed. Basically vegged most of the day. Fed the zoo, piddled in the garden some, and chilled horizontally watching a movie. Fix some supper and probably watch another movie before bedtime.

After a grueling week at work (migrated 3 customers from our legacy software to our new stuff), my brain was mush- we hit the hay early last night (7-ish).  So we were up early this morning- mostly just relaxing until it was warm enough to walk the dogs without a fuss.  After that, Sonja and I hopped in the truck and got some free concrete chunks.  One of the those closest convenience stores is replacing their expired fuel tanks, so a whole buncha free fill dirt and rebar-laden concrete is free for the taking.  Most of the chunks are in the 50-80 pound range, but we got some whoppers pushing north of 300 pounds, too- 2 person carry, and the truck drops an easy inch after loading one of them.  We made 2 trips and should have enough to line our parking area now.

I also moved some stuff around in the shop in preparation for yet more wiring.  The stuff I ordered came through, mostly- except a price drop on a 240 hospital grade receptacle and a 240 breaker resulted in Amazon cancelling those 2 items off my order. 

We're fixing a roast for dinner; I feel like I've burned about 8000 calories today.

I like the Brother DCP-L2550DW I got last year+. So far zero problems which I'm not used to as I've been through he|| with printers over the years.

The memsahib finally admitted that she and I alone cannot move the 6X8 garden shed.  We emptied it and took up the floor so that she can start disassembling it.  We’ll have to move it in small pieces and reassemble it.  I installed some more bicycle hanging hooks in my shed and hung several frames and wheel sets.  I also worked on arranging storage for a recent windfall,  a large collection of carpentry clamps I’ve inherited from my SF.

Mid afternoon I took these two idiots out for some fetch.

I’m feeling better from my cold.  Just need to clear the junk out now.  Decided that I needed to get away from the house for a day and headed to the ocean on a whim.  It was a fantastic day.  We got back to,the van just as the wind and rain struck.

Thanks Pat!  I actually feel like moving around vs. just sitting.  Back to the bath/laundry project.  Sure wish it could snap my fingers and have it complete.  🫰🏼💥🙏🏼

Went to the river and shot paintballs out of slingshots with the boys.  Messed around and made progress on the bath/laundry.  Chilling on the couch with my feet up.  Hot chocolate would be nice.

Went to Bay Point (Diablo) and finished marking up the wheel on TX200 #3.
I also shot Duckfish’s Longbow and checked the speed.
Wow.
At just under 11 fpe, that is one of the finest break barrel air rifles I have shot.
