 So far I have just admired my wife's dedication to stitching and ability. She made Christmas stockings for us and our kids when they were little. Now the granddaughter who has 8 kids and is pregnant ask her to please make her family 11 Christmas stockings! 

 Most of the ones my wife made have been large crazy quilt style (one kid requested a knit stocking). Yesterday she made 11 front panels with their names embroidered on them. So, all she has left is to sew the backs and hooks on 10 of them the 11th will have to wait for a name since the baby is due in March of next year.

 She is also doing an embroidered 2024 Journal. Everyday she embroiders some little "icon" that represents something special seen or done about that day. Yesterdays has 11 tiny stockings in an area less than the size of a quarter, they look like quilted stockings too.    I am very impressed at the tiny details!

 She is gone to her Thursday stitching group and took the embroidered Journal with her. These are the stockings so far. I see she has a few more names to do. She made the quilt that is under them years ago. All the ones she has made in the past she that were quilted she also decorated in various manors after they were put together. What was the most impressive to me was the tiny embroidered stockings on the journal. I'll try to get a pic of it later.

She crocheted this First Place-Best of Show (County Fair) table cloth a few years ago. I sure the finished product will be really good.

Sam sad deal when the injured critters get away. Yep shoot and shutee next time would be the most humane end but a coyote or coon will likely make short work of it later. A neighbor recently had to kill a cat via a couple wacks to the head with a stick since he didn't have a gun after he saw it dragging itself around after getting hit by a car. Messed him up having to do it and afterward too but he did the right thing and put it out of it's suffering.

 My wife crocheted a bed spread for one of our Church members about 20 years ago, that took almost a year a couple of hours each evening. It was stunningly beautiful. She is rushing the stockings so she can take them to Idaho in a few weeks, and she has other things like knitted house shoes and baby blankets to get done too.

I tipped the early morning ranger to where to expected to find the fox.  This young fella is pretty quick.  He brought a big dip net and caught the fox first thing this morning.  The biologist took it to our local wildlife rehab.  If its spine is broken they will put it down humanely.  I was gonna let my nuisance wildlife control certification lapse because we had other people who were willing to do the job.  Now I have decided to renew it.  I just don't trust our new management.

Sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness than ask permission.


The Manatee are returning to the river for the winter.  We've had a dozen or so here all summer long which is unusual.  Now the ones who spent the summer out in the gulf are coming up river.  I drove five tours today and had a great time doing it.  Beaucoup wildlife!

The Stockings are about 3/16 of in inch tall the ring is a 6" ring. She saw a huge Hawk one day.

Cleaned all of the light fixtures in the house. Pumped the extra water into the storage tanks. Checked the tire pressure on all the vehicles along with the trailers tires. Busy, busy,busy!!!

It was a beautiful fall New England day but I was feeling lazy and not feeling like raking leaves.   My wife suggested that I go to the club and shoot.   What a great wife.   I followed her advice and shot a lot of different stuff including a couple made in the 1860s-1870s.

It's the second day of my vacation and the memsahib and I are just enjoying each other's company.  We wallowed in the bed until way too late this morning.  We slobbed around the house and ate leftovers from our dinner for brunch.  After noon we roused ourselves and rode into Hooterville to vote.  Back home we loaded all the pups into our vintage Snapper UTV and cruised down to the river and back.  Plenty of leisure time left today!  I'm headed out the back door with a bag of tennis balls to give the dogs some exercise right now.

I put up clean dishes to make room for more dirty ones and ran that load then aired up the portable tank to inflate my deflated mower tire since it would've come off the bead if I tried to drive it to the garage to air up. Well clearly after all that hard work I need a week off.
