I've been expanding our back, back into the 10 year old pine forest. Clearing vines, privet hedge, small scrub trees.

Getting ready to install a new USA flag down by the main gate to the ranch. The last one got caught on a burr on the 8 inch diameter pipe that the is mounted on and I have the flag pole strapped to.

Turns out it's only a 4 inch diameter pipe.

Just got home from hauling 1000 gallons of water. I set it up to fill my storage tanks and opened the valve and letting it gravity feed. I didn't eat breakfast so I was really hungry and I came in and made me lunch. Soon as I finish it I'll go back out and fire up the pump.

 I directed traffic out of our parking lot to go north as 1/4 mile south, the cops will not let them go south, and were turning them around, due to a bad accident, took a good hour to clear the highway. So I ate my sandwich and waved my arms

Intense day moving a lot of heavy stuff around.   As I was digging out granite blocks from under a few decades of leaves, I discovered that underneath the granite, dirt and leaves was a pile of old chain link fence and a stack of posts and misc rusty metal so I had to dig that all out too.   I did manage to put down a couple pieces of granite for curbing. It's taken over 5 years to partially recover from a bad fall and it felt great to be outside doing hard physical work.

Bet you'll be paying for it the next few days too Ernie. Usually how it works for me. Taking this IGF1 really helps me recover way faster than I would without it though.

Well, I ain't done it yet but I'm going to today...
"The Hole in the Wall" bar needs another upgrade. This time to the bar itself.
Previously we moved the bar and removed a post to open up the space some. That went very well and accomplished exactly what we were looking for. The problem is the the bar is too small and cramped in it's new location. I'm going to fix that today.
I have some materials left over from a couple projects around here and I'm sure I can do this at no added expense. I'm just not sure how deep I want to dig into it.
I know I'm going to make it wider but I'm also going to look at making it longer. If I do that I may need to relocate another post.
Quick as I finish my morning coffee I'll get to it.

The leftover piece of stained 1/4" luan I had from the bedroom wall repair is too short to cover the length to cover the existing bar top let alone making it longer. So now I'll have to huddle back up and come up with a new play.

The hike went higher than typical mountain lion or bear habitat. Above treeline: pikas in talus slopes. Below treeline: mostly Canada Jays, chipmunks, squirrels. But black bears are not unusual. They do prefer to cruise human neighborhoods more than the wild areas, from what I’ve observed. Easy food in garbage bins, dog bowls, and food scraps dropped by careless people.

We have mountain lions and bears at our home turf. So far, we have not had any problems from them. They normally keep their distance from humans, some of whom are happy for either an excuse or a real reason to shoot them. (I am not against legitimate hunting of them, just poaching/trespassing/dumping.)

I think my husband took iPhone photos of the feature known as the Lizard Head. He didn’t show it to me; usually these are to show off to a friend in another state, and/or they are bad images. I should ask to borrow the thing so I can take a few pics. I don’t want to lug my iPad on hikes, and all my real cameras are either film or a 14-yr-old little digicam without WiFi.

The wife and I are scratching our heads trying to figure out some walky talkys. We wanted to be able to talk to each other when one is down in the meadow. These radios were recommended by a friend so we could communicate. Turns out the radios are ham radios🤬🤬🤬🤬 You need to take a class or classes and pay $25 for the license and talk about complicated!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬 We're going to just buy some simple walky talkys and put these away. That was a waste of money 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yesterday we tilled the seven food plots on our hunting property. Getting ready to plant. Last week my son discovered thar two turkey vultures (we call them Buzzards) took up residence in one of our deer shooting houses. So this weekend my son borrowed a trailer mounted steam cleaner / pressure washer from work and yesterday we spent the morning cleaning the buzzard droppings out. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined thought.  This morning with built doors to raise to keep this from happening again..

Dan from what I've been told they don't defecate they only hurl like owls. One flew over me and I got some on my shirt so I promptly washed it knowing the stomach acid would stain it if I didn't.

Madd try to sell them on the forum and get your $ back if you can't return them where you got em. There are ham radio people here.

Dropped C off at school, came home and made coffee.  Worked on my Bible study.  Surfed the airgun webs.  Procrastinating currently.  I have much to do and the seasonal time window is closing fast.  I lack one important material at the moment… motivation.  Busy work schedule ahead this week, Mrs P is out for the day and unexpected when she will be back.  Need to pick up C at 1200.  He goes back out for drivers ed. @ 1400 with pickup @ 1500.  Much to do, so little time.  Think I’ll call it dry (term we use in linework when it’s raining and we have primary work but it’s too wet to do it so we wait the weather out until it decreases or another day when it’s not so wet).  It’s NOT wet out but I’m not going to do what I wanted/needed to so I can remain mentally healthy to do those really important things that I don’t have the option to put off.  Make sense?  Anyway… up, uP AND AWAY!
