 I went this morning to get hearing aids. Took my wife for hers last Friday.
 This'll take some getting used to.
  Now I really know what "mouse fart quiet" means...

The boss changed my duty from driving boats to driving the mower today.  I gassed up the Z950R zero turn with the 58” brush cutter deck and headed out.  Five hour later another five acres of grass parking lot littered with cement parking stops is mowed.  Rowing the control levers of the zero turn through the parking lot slalom is a serious workout!  I’m hitting the shower.

Sam I hate to hear of inattentive parents like that. Good they got the toddler revived. I adjusted my trans control arms to not have such pressure against me and my arms no longer fatigue. On my transmissions it's just a Allen wrench turn screw. The cost is more jerky driving when turning sometimes but I'm fine with that. Manual says to not adjust the screws or it will cause damage but I've been driving it over 10yrs like that without issue and it still works great.

I got up at 7:45 AM, dressed and downed a cup of coffee, then got out and mowed close to 3 acres of weeds down. I quit because I got as HOT as I thought I should. When I stopped it was already 100°F.

 I hope to finish the 5 acres early tomorrow before it gets too hot.

I think I just saw our temp peak at 116°F here, Palm Springs (49 miles away) was 119°F, and Borrego Springs (67 miles away) was 120°F!

I just checked our wind is 11.3mph and does feels a bit like a blast furnace. I also just checked the asphalt temp and it is currently 150°F, glad I don't need to lay down on it!

Not much yesterday, fighting a full body flare this morning, I guess I have picked up somebody's bug somewhere this week. Left hand and right shoulder on fire and barely usable. I have some things to plant in the boat garden so that will not take any effort to do. Make food for the earth worms in the worm bin and keep them happy. Load some smaller chicken feeders. I have to keep moving or I go down for the count, yes it's painful but it's more painful if I don't keep moving. Just have to s(u)ck it up for the day. Joys of growing old.

Speaking of the joys of getting old I was at my mother's place getting in my car to go home and heard her screaming in agony so I knew she fell and ran inside to see her on the floor crying in pain motionless so I asked if anything was broken then she moved and said no so I helped her get up off the floor and I got her in the car to go home with me so I could look after her. Today she's sore but ok thank God! To say the least that was traumatic and really did a number on me mentally.

Just glad she's not seriously hurt and that I was there to be of immediate aid. She got dizzy is why she fell like she has 3 times previously and fractured her hip once. Her Drs know her issues but can't stop it but I helped it happen less by getting her off one thing that was making her more dizzy back in the day. She'd eaten an hour before that so she had plenty of energy where lack of food wasn't the cause. If any of you could send a prayer to the Almighty to help her I'd be grateful. Mercy that was awful.

Exceedingly happy and grateful that she is OK, and utterly shaken on just how quick it could have went 180° the other direction at the same time...

I was standing next to Mom (technically MIL) as she fell flat on her back last year.  I called memsahib in the car heading home cried like a baby as I told her forget everything I said about Central America when I retire we are not moving away from my Mommy.  Your mother is in our thoughts.  Best wishes for her feeling better soon.

Best wishes for your mother. I do not have elderly parents, but I do have an elderly self. Falling is a definite hazard. Hope they figure out the dizziness problem.

Ya know, I truly miss all the elders in Betty Lou's and my families but I have to be honest... not having to worry about if and when makes life a little less stressful. Plus, their suffering is over.

Both my and my wife's parents are gone. My mom was the last 20 years ago so don't need to worry about them. My wife on the other hand has fallen a bunch here the last couple of years. She road her Sil's bike when she was in Charleston and said it's helped her balance. I hope it has 🙏. She picked up a used old diamond back MTB to ride. I'm thinking about getting a bunch of bubble wrap to wrap her up in so when she does what a certain famous man did on TV she won't get hurt.
