Been awake since 1230 am. Have to leave here to take the wife to the airport in Flagstaff so she can fly to S Carolina for 3 weeks. Wasn't going to get up until 0200 but my German shepherd woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. I can see a nap in my future.

Evenin y’all.  My plans for today were to watch the weather radar and the lightening tracker.  Which I did.  All day.  I canceled four boat tours due to thunder storms.  POed a lot of people but better safe than sorry.  End of my shift and walking to my truck I spotted a massive water leak behind the bath house.  Nothing to due but track down the late field ranger, load up the truck, and start digging.  We found the leak but there’s no way to fix it today so we turned off the water, locked up the bathrooms (shucks!), and left for the day.  I’m late field ranger tomorrow and somehow I expect that this problem will be waiting for me when I get there.

Best made plans came to a screeching halt this morning. The rain and lightning got off to an early start. So it was a day of getting little things done inside. Need a break from the is wet weather.

I hung out with a grandson and did an oil and filter change on my Dodge Ram. 12 quarts of oil so it's ready to roll down the road to Idaho now. Oh, and I installed a new air filter too.

Relocated 3 squirrels today. We have a lot of them around. It is not unusual to see 6 or 7 running around the yard at the same time. They are tearing up my bird feeders and chasing the birds away. They also have been chewing into a few bird houses, so I started live trapping them.  I take them a couple miles away to a large wood and set them free there.  More will probably move in, but I feel like I am thinning out the herd. they sure cuss me out when I pick up the trap and put it into the bed of my truck.

Soon as I got to work yesterday my park ranger sense started tingling.  The maintenance mechanic told me the park was full of brass, cubicle rats, and paper pushers from Tallahassee.  The new PM is tooting his own horn.  I grabbed a truck and lit out for the boonies.  I decided to go check Rock Road for dumps and homeless squats.  Jackpot!  Somebody left us the stripped hulk of a (probably stolen) Winnebago.  I gave it a quick check but I didn’t have any PPE so it was just a glance before I radioed for LEO.  I waited until the officer showed up and dragged the thing out as long as I could.  When I finally got back to the park proper the side show had come and gone.  Mission accomplished!

Yep, odds are 99.999% it's stolen. It sounds like it would be a pain to load up and haul away for scrap.

Almost got killed today on a two lane 70mph highway when an idiot wanting to pass a slow trucker decided to still do so despite seeing me in the oncoming lane right by the trucker instead of getting back behind the semi like any smart person would. I swerved from the shoulder and back which the idjit also did to try avoiding hitting me head on then he flew by me on the shoulder narrowly missing me. Where's a trooper when you need one? Thankful to still be here to take care of my elderly mother.

Grrrrrrrrr... Some old guy called me about the truck I have for sale in town. So I drove in to meet him. We got it fired up and he drove it. Meanwhile he broke the plastic lever on driver's power window... with the window down. 
Next he told me he liked the truck but he was $500 short. I asked him if he had the rest in cash. He said no but he would next weekend. Seriously dude?
I told him if the truck was still there next weekend he could have it for the asking price.
I fiddled with the window until I got way too hot. I wasn't going to leave the truck sit on the main route to Florida on a Friday night with rain due and the window down.
I parked my truck and locked it up and drove the GMC home. I covered the window with a large trash bag and I'll figure the window out first thing in the morning. Then I'll take it back to town and bring my truck home.

I left their place at 1:00 AM and got home at 3:50 PM. I stop twice for diesel and got home with about a half of a tank. I also ate a burrito in Las Vegas after I filled the truck. I got 25mpg this trip. It was 26mpg but then I had almost an hour of stop and go traffic so, it dropped to 25mpg.

Thank you for following your instincts about Rock Road miscreants. I wish more people would keep their eyes open and be willing to root out scum. We have plenty of it in my area, which is a drug trafficking corridor.

2003 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins Diesel. I just past 100,000 miles on it.

I got the window in the truck to roll up. I had to modify the bezel a bit so I could get my finger in to reach the up button on the switch. Now instead of a toggle switch it's up and down buttons. Getting the battery and the jump box charged up so I can park it back in town and bring my truck home.
Ever notice that most anything that is not air gun related is a royal pain in the butt? Maybe we should rename this thread to "What did you do that PI$$ed you off today?"
