Battery arrived and is installed. Both wheelers are up and running. I got the trail cleaned out and the barn acre does need mowed. I came back up the trail to get the mower and it has a flat on the front. This is the opposite side of the one I had fixed last week. I'm sure it's a split valve stem like the other. After breakfast I'll pull it off and take it to Pete's to have it fixed. It just never ends.
Quote from: Rabbit\Squirrel Killer on July 27, 2024, 01:27:07 AMIt was a little cooler today, it JUST hit 100°F! When the temp had dropped to about 95°F after 6:00 PM I went out and mowed until dark. I feel beat up now. It was very dusty, I showered immediately upon coming in afterwards. That helped some but wasn't lasting relief. My grandson who lives in Idaho with his wife Hanna and kids came down a couple of days ago because his wife's dad was in the hospital with multi-organ failure, He passed away last night. I think he was 49? years old, he had just bought a house in Hemet 3 months ago and then got sick and then his heath went down hill fast. We never know what tomorrow may bring, posted is a recent pic of him, looks healthy. Hanna is their only child, apparently he left his X wife in charge of his estate? She already said he told her current husband he can have his pickup, It sounds fishy to me. It may be legit but, I know death always bring out the Vultures. I know the material things aren't what is really important but his daughter who was a daddy 's girl deserves his valuables more than his x wife IMHO.He didn't have a notarized Will so I guess probate will figure it out! We never know what tomorrow may bring, this is a recent pic of him.So sad, Dan. I pray everything works out the way it should.

Got all the mowing done, here and the barn. Nick pays a guy to mow the 5 acres his double wide sits on on the other side of the dirt road. That guy also does the line trimming there and at the barn... better him than me. The guy happened to be there today and he came and asked me where the shut off was for the water. I guess they hit a water pipe with the mower up there and broke it. I showed him where it was and got it shut off so he could fix it.When I got back to the house Betty Lou was on the phone with her sister in Ohio. I could tell that it wasn't a good call. Her sister said that her momma is lying about how well she is doing and what she is eating. There may be a trip to Ohio in the future. She has an appointment at OSU.
Mornin snake haters! I’m a Herp enthusiast! I spend a lot of time looking for lizards! ( El Legator). We are surrounded by water and while I leave Crotalus Horridus alone I’m a bear for Agkistrodon Pisciverous! That means I leave all snakes except Water Moccasins alone. I’ve taken quite a toll on them over the yearsYesterday I was point person at the park. I dealt with minor crisis all day, drove two boats and generally worked myself sick again.Yeah I’m down with a cold now.

I’m feeling better since the memsahib fed me. A neighbor dropped off two dozen free range eggs. She got out some mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and sausage and cooked up a huge omelette which we ate rolled up in tortillas with lots of hot sauce!
What is this raisin carrot bread that you speak of? Sound like something that the masses would enjoy also.
