Automobiles - ives  never thought of that .
Fires in New Mexico. I saw it on the news  I have never seen anything like that . The only thing  i thought was run far and fast. Your daughter is fighting that .

Heat & humidity yesterday in Minnesota then thunderstorms & rain in the late afternoon.
3 1/2 to 7 inches of rain Up North. Extensive flooding occurred in Duluth & the Lake Superior area ( i.e. the Iron Range & Arrow Head region ) Some roads washed out.
Sunshine & drying out today. Maybe I can get the grass cut this afternoon.
It looks like we will be back to thunderstorms and rain for Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
Many rivers in the state are rising and are either at or approaching flood stage.
Eventually here will be a lot of water coming down the Mississippi.
No drought here this year.

Wow. We went through that in Hawke Bay about ☆ over a year ago  devastated the area around Eske Valley. Two rivers joined into one . Years to come for recovery.
I read a book (Fiction) about a major flood in the Mississipi river. Scary . I hope that does not happen.

Yeah, you people are stealing all of the south wests rain!! 😡 Man, I can't even think what this place would be like if we got that much rain. Heck, my road was just about unpassable when we got 4 inches in 3 days. That's probably some normal summer days for you. We're suppose to get some rain starting Thursday night through Sunday night but it's measured in hundred thousands of an inch. Our soil doesn't soak up water very well.

I am on the east side of the state, in the second county down from the areas in red.
I am about 17 miles from the Wisconsin border. 
Some of the areas up there saw 7 3/4 inches of rain in 2 1/2 hours.
The North Shore of Lake Superior is the area of the state with the steepest terrain.
In my area we got maybe 1 inch of rain and no flooding.

Your family and friends in your state are in my thoughts.
Your photos reminded me of the two tripple box culverts that blew out in our City during the Georgia September 2021 floods.  I was busier than a 1 legged man in a ...kicking contest for the rest of 2021.  We won an APWA award for our use of a prefab bridge to replace the larger culvert but had 5 businesses at the end of the cul-de-sac with walking over a temporary footbridge access for about 9 months of construction.  Again, glad you are safe and hope all ends well.
