Oil change and tire rotation on the van.

Cut a large bush down to the minimum.  Cleared the mess. 

Edged the lawn with the power edger.  Boys mowed.

Trimmed/shaped many bushes around the yard. 

Still need to pick up tools and finish washing the roof of the gazebo.

Got a message from Super cheap Auto saying I had gathered 7.40 in rewards and it was about to expire. Off i went to town thrilled at the prospect of a frivilous spend  spent an hour in the shop just looking at all the tools and stuff.
I eventually bought an LED festoon bulb for the boat. That cost 20.00. Even with my 7 40 credit they made a profit out of me.

Platelet donation day and did the usual weigh in for the machine. I have successfully lost 10lbs in 4 weeks. I have 14lbs more to go. Pick up mail and some things. At home now, will work in the garden for a little bit. I have new mister heads to put on the irrigation system in the garden, everything will get watered but not wear out the pump doing it. The spend time in the shop getting stones polished. The bird and babies have bailed now I can run the tractor and clean up the trim mess I have all over the place.

As soon as I got signed onto the register in the ranger station it crashed.  Turned out to be an agency wide thing.  The guys with the pocket protectors got started on it from their end.  I’m a low tech boy. I grabbed a Sharpie and a piece of paper and made I made up my own kind of sign like the song says.

“FREE ADMISSION”

Then I sat at the picnic table by the station smoking my pipe, sketching and talking to visitors.  About 1800 our AA got the back up system working andI had to go back inside and take people’s money again. It was fun while it lasted.

I got all the mowing done yesterday.

I changed the hydrostatic transaxle oil and filters on my Bad Boy zero turn mower. Purgerd the right one pretty quickly but I never got the left one purged. I finally gave up and just used my son's Scag to mow my daughter's yard and my wife's aunt's yard. When I returned home the transaxle had purged itself 

I guess it had a big bubble that finally burped.

Severe weather tonight. Intense thunderstorms with 70 mph straight line winds, large damaging hail and.... tornadoes... expected until around 10 30 pm.
There is a tornado on the ground 3 miles north of me right now.
The wife went to bed and I am staying up and keeping watch.
So far every things OK at my place.
Lots of heavy rain, thunder and lighting, but up till now that has been about it.
The chain saws will be running somewhere in MN tomorrow morning.

I'm whipped.  I can't remember what I did today but I can tell you there was lot of it and it was hot.  Seems to me there was quite a bit of string trimming.  Quite a bit more of answering tourist's questions and directing people.  Lots of trash collection.  Several public restrooms were cleaned.  A couple of delinquent juveniles were introduced to the local deputy sheriff.  Somebody's car got towed.  A rather large alligator was harassed until it departed the public swimming area.  In between I drove all over the place handling all manner of minor crisis.
Oh yeah, I "mentored" our youngest ranger.  LOL!  Me, a man with no business being anyone's role model!

Wow...the lightning strikes have been intense with some trees within eye sight getting hit.
The storms have lessened in strength now but they still continue.
For me....Lightning and..Lots of Rain.
Other places were not so lucky.
It has been a wild ride in MN today and night.

I pray that you were spared damage from the storms and were able to get some sleep. I've waited up a many a night during severe thunderstorms, high winds, and tornado watches and warnings. It was straight line winds that took a huge oak down in my front lawn.
