I took the memsahib to town for some necessary shopping (dog food, TP, bread, milk, etc.)  Now I'm home contemplating organizing my shed.  Or possibly luring my wife back to the boudoir for some cuddle time?

Got the appointment setup for 5-28 PET scan around noon. Can't eat any carbs all day Sunday and Monday and nothing after 6am Tuesday. I guess they'll know everything there is to know about my health. I can just see them wanting to do by pass surgery or something like that.😡😡 It's a complete body scan so they'll know it all. Of course that depends if they actually look at the whole picture.

At my age that decision isn’t very hard (along with other things sadly ).

Good luck with the quacks!  With all the advances in modern medicine and with the great leaps in medical technology those guys still seem to be mostly witch doctors.  Tossing the bones and devining our entrails.

Sometimes to much knowledge makes it harder to do what is required. I subscribe to the K.I.S.S. principal. I had a MRI decades ago to make sure I had a brain but the jury is still out on that. 😁😁

yeah my doctor told me that if I have regular checkups he’ll find stuff early and I will live longer.  Sounds good.  I’ll live longer but I’ll be sick with worry about my health the whole time.

Actually, I had a biopsy for cancer and he found no lesions. Then a MRI found the lesion and changed my radiation treatment regime. Glad I asked for the MRI. Sometimes those things can help. Other times, no so much.

Just finished replacing the flag at the entrance to the ranch. It was getting just a little tatered and seeings how this is memorial Day weekend we couldn't leave it like that.

Baby Girl and two co=workers spent half day at Galts Ferry Fishing Jetty.  DIdn't catch anything but good company and sunshine.

Another day in paradise here in central VA.  Breakfast, a dump run, some grocery shopping... headed into the field to do some line-trimmer work and the neighbor who harvests all the Johnson Grass asked for some help with his Deere bulldozer (a 1984 model, don't recall the model)... I traced the problem to the start button.  He asked what I wanted for helping- I just laughed and said we were officially neighbors now that we moved, and neighbors help each other.  He's done some heavy-duty bush-hogging on the flood plain and helped us with some log skidding my CR-V couldn't handle.  You know how it goes- good people are good people.

Anyway, Sonja and then headed into the woods, worked on some vegetation clearing, then came in and showered, and shortly we'll be enjoying some home-cooked burger-n-tater-tots.

Like I said, another day in paradise.

Got a couple hogs last night at 3:30am in my neighbor's yard during bright moon light with the thermal AR then this morning my other neighbor came over to help get one of the hogs in my tractor loader for him to butcher. Down to one hog left that got away but two less tearing up our places now plus I know where that remaining hog likes to bed at night so he'll get it soon too.

I survived another day of the Memorial Day weekend as a Florida Park Ranger.

Things overheard in the Ranger Station.

Caller:  Can I have the Reservation desk phone number?

Ranger:  Are you ready to write this number down?

Caller:  I don't have anything to write on.

Ranger:  Is your car dirty?

Caller:  Um yeah?

Ranger:  Pull over.  Get out of the car and write this number on the side of your car with your finger.

Caller:  Thank you!

Tore apart the lawn mower and with the dirty air filter off she started and ran.  Cut the BY range finally.  I will do the plug, oil change and new air filter.  Glad I saved the money for the electric mower I was eye-balling.  Clocked the clamping ring and gasket for the 98 Accord and pulled off the dry-rotten front tire for swap to a used tire later this week.  Looks like the sending float and arm came off the pump assembly so I'll have to get my Megalong pliers and fish that off the bottom of the tank so I can reinstall.

I've been occupied sprucing up the Casting Cabin while Betty Lou was busy doing her thing in the utility room. This room was an 8x10 wood addition on the back of our mobile home. It was wired with 110 for lights and outlets and 220 for the dryer. The interior was covered with foam insulation board and that's the way it remained. There are 2 large sets of shelving on 2 of the walls and a workbench on a 3rd wall. Aside from the door into the house, there is also a door leading outside.
Betty Lou painted the doors and shelving with an off white eggshell exterior. Then she covered the rest of the exposed walls with Mossy Oak camo fabric. It's rustic cool looking.

Sitting in the reception room for the PET scan. Got here way early.😡😡

Well, I'll glow in the dark now. They just injected the radio active glucose in my body. Suppose to sit for an hour while it finds any cancer cells. I guess cancer cells absorb the glucose much faster than healthy cells and the PET scan picks up where those spots are.

Post office, pet store, Walmart, home.  Ate lunch (leftover from yesterday) and made cappuccino.  Sitting outside under the gazebo with Mrs. P bundled up ‘cause it’s on the cool side.  It’s sprinkling out and it sounds nice on the metal roof.  Boys are playing basketball in the rain and Millie is hanging out in the rain too.  Feels more like fall than spring.
