Quote from: bReTt on April 26, 2024, 08:06:13 PMWent for an oil change and tire rotation on the Corolla this AM. Whilst that was occurring Mrs P and Iwent out for a coffee and a breakfast pastry. Picked up the car, headed to a thrift store that didn’t open until 1000. Headed up the hill to WallyWorld and bought three inexpensive baking sheets to shoot at. Went home, loaded some junky fence boards that were given to me from an online order at Lowe’s. I was also shorted 25 boards in that order. They made it all right. I bought 45 more boards to complete the fence, a box of nails and I came home again. I was able to dril some holes in the baking sheets and ran some wire through them so I could hang them for shooting. I was able to run some BBs through the gun and try out the new metal targets. They will be great for that audible “hit” TING! Headed into work early to get a workout in and now I’m here until 2300. Back at it tomorrow morning 0700 for a 16 hour shift. What's that cost? I wouldn't know as I've been changing my oil for decades now ever since they were charging $25 for oil changes and tearing up a lot of things where I decided to do it myself so nothing got tore up anymore. The oil n filter cost for me is around $50 these days. Ridiculous.

Brett free service for 2yrs winning! Fuji valve is ok if you're ok with waiting longer for it to drain and having it stick down to grab road debris potentially hitting the lever to drain oil on the road depending on the oil pan. I like a pan under the oil drain best since it's fast and no hose to clean and store afterward. I don't do discount tire anymore after one of their techs gashed my mirror with their jack handle decades ago. Free anything ain't worth that. A long time ago a quick drain place damaged many parts under my hood being in such a hurry to complete their multi point destruction I mean inspection so never again for me. Been there Kris. Same here and good on ya!
2 days ago FUBO TV announced that after a dispute with Warner they would be dropping 19 of their streaming channels. Nearly half of those channels were among Betty Lou's favorites to watch. They offered no discounts for the reduced service. So today I explored my options and for what we watch, DirectTV Streaming rose to the top of the list. Others looked at included HULU and YouTube TV. DTV edged them out.I hit the "cancel my subscription" button on FUBO. They instantly offered a $60 kickback not to cancel. I hit "no thanks" and their offer jumped to $70. Again I declined. My paid subscription runs out on the 21st of May at which time we will begin our 5 day free trial with DTV. We will also get a $10 discount for the first 3 months. One of the add on networks with FUBO cost $12.99 per month. That network is included in the DTV package and the package we opted for is $10 more a month than FUBO before the add on.See ya FUBO. It's been a great 2 years.
Yesterday I had to take the pontoon boat out twice and harass a sizeable gator that has taken an interest in the swimming area. Two other rangers also took the boat out at different times to chase this very persistent reptile. Yesterday evening I found it near the bank in the swimming area and popped it from about eight feet with a round flat slick smooth river rock (like what David did whup Goliath with) and my trusty Wrist Rocket. Right betwixt the eyes! It was a good solid hit and the gator lit out for deeper water. Unfortunately for the dumb amphibian it did not take the hint. When I came in for the late shift at around noon today they were transferring the carcass from the pontoon boat to a truck for disposal. Measured out to be eight feet nine inches long. It had clearly lost its fear of humans and had become way too dangerous. I wrote in the waterfront log that I thought it needed to be "removed" but they got on it a lot quicker than I thought they would.

I buried my old little dog this afternoon after her peaceful death today. She died laying on her side wagging her tail. I have never seen a dog wag their tail as they died before, I think it was an answered prayer.
I mowed the rest of what I didn't do last time. It is a lot easier on me physically/pain wise to split the mowing into thirds instead of mowing it all at once, but not nearly as rewarding as seeing it all fresh done at once.I buried my old little dog this afternoon after her peaceful death today. She died laying on her side wagging her tail. I have never seen a dog wag their tail as they died before, I think it was an answered prayer. Now I have to do the rest of the yardwork in town tomorrow or Saturday, and it is supposed to rain again Sunday. Where is the bang head emoji.
